What are people saying about Penang

Make sure you are hungry!!!
We really enjoyed this food tour. Sandy, our guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and clearly proud of the culinary and cultural food heritage of Malaysia. We tried loads of different dishes, traditions from India, China and Malay culture. We were absolutely stuffed full by the end of the tour but it was very interesting and enjoyable and you get a walking tour of many of the key different ethnic areas of Georgetown thrown in as an added bonus! Would definitely recommend!

Authentic Penang
If you want to understand more about life on Penang, interact with locals and see the countryside, then you should consider this tour. It was nice getting up early to make the most of the morning before the day became too hot. Eddy, our guide, was very friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. He showed us a wide range of places such as Malay and Chinese fishing villages, palm plantations, a goat farm, and we also stopped for a coffee and snack. It was a great experience, and one that I am pleased I booked. It provided a great opportunity to explore what life outside of George Town is like. I also really enjoyed the freedom of being on a bike and the breeze when cycling down quiet roads and paths. I would defintely book this experience again and recommend to anyone who wants to understand more about the island beyond what George Town has to offer. Thank you, Eddy, for being a wonderful guide!

Orangutan Tour with Jackie - 5 Stars!!
Absolutely — here’s a shorter, punchier version:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jackie was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about Penang. He shared wonderful stories and history throughout the trip, making the hour-long journey to Orangutan Island fly by.
He brought fruit for the orangutans, which encouraged them to come closer and gave us some amazing photo opportunities. We also crossed both bridges to Butterworth and enjoyed a tour around Georgetown.
Jackie’s love for his country really shines through. We highly recommend Jackie for an unforgettable Penang experience!

My guide Ernest was the best tour guide ever! He’s very knowledgeable and funny, he made my solo travel experience today extremely enjoyable! Also he takes amazing photos and made two reel videos for me after the trip. I’ll always remember my Penang trip with a smile !

A flexible tour with a knowledgeable and interesting guide to suit all ages in our group.
A full day with varied activities to keep everyone interested. Max was a wonderful guide, we had pretty bad weather but he changed the activities seamlessly to suit our group. Max was unbelievably knowledgeable about the places we visited and both history and current life in Penang. He was able to keep all members of our group interested throughout. We were very impressed with the whole day, we loved the food from the hawker centre and there were choices to please the fussiest of children. Thank you Max for a wonderful day.

Great morning around the city!
What a fun way to get around and see the city - on a motorbike food tour with Jacky.
Helmets on, we sped around to the local food market, had a roti starter, Malay Prawn dish, Chinese duck noodles, Indian Tikka Chicken and the most interesting dessert I think I have ever had….
Jacky was great, fun and ensured we were safe driving around the city. Thoroughly recommend!

Simply exceptional!
Simply exceptional! Our guide Danny, is the most amazing man, truly such a nice person. Very knowledgeable and accommodating. Five stars is not enough. A great private tour and you learn so much. My partner Vivianne and I would highly recommend this tour and if you can, ask for Danny. To Danny, many, many thanks for the tour and all your kindness. Truly appreciated!

Nyonya cooking class is a treat
We did the Nyonya cooking class. This was not just a culinary experience, it was a cultural immersion too. Amy and Mok were so generous with their personal stories as well as their cooking tips. It was a tightly controlled and carefully paced class. This is one of the best cooking classes I have ever done. I highly recommend it. One tip... don't eat beforehand!

We really enjoyed this tour. Poh was a great guide, really knowledgeable about the history of Penang. We tasted several dishes and snacks which were delicious. For us 3 hours was a perfect amount of time, especially in the heat of the afternoon. I would highly recommend the tour.

Tour was informative, gave you confidence to explore and revisit on your own , was fun and worthwhile.. Tour guide Ashline was knowledgeable , sensitive to the needs of the client and provided a rich experience.. Lots of information and sights in 3 hours but you walk away knowing you had a great overview of Penang history, culture and heritage. Definitely worthwhile.

I see why Georgetown is a UNESCO Site
Muhammad picked me up promptly in a very comfortable vehicle. He is very well versed in the history of Georgetown/Penang. I particularly enjoyed brunch with him in a locals restaurant. Seeing Harmony road, the mansion, and the museum were real treats. The murals around town are a must see.

Best food tour ever
This is the best food tour ever! The guide, Grace was fantastic and the food was mostly delicious except for some dishes that were a little strange to us. Walking tour but not extensive. Do not eat breakfast because it's a lot of food. I would not miss this tour!
