Law is a fantastic guide! As a local, he is an expert in Penang’s history and shared great insights about how the city has evolved to its present day. Law took us around the city and answered all our questions. We especially enjoyed visiting Penang’s different Buddhist temples. Law explained how each temple’s architecture reflects its cultural roots. We also appreciated how Law told us the Buddha’s origin story and explained his importance in Malaysian life. We stopped for a quick snack at a local restaurant, which was a nice break from the heat. We had an elder in our group, and Law remained patient and accommodating to adjust the pacing of the day as needed. Finally, we enjoyed the tour we had of the Pinang Peranakan Mansion and recommend it as a must stop when visiting George Town. If you are in Penang, Malaysia, we highly recommend taking a tour with Law, the city’s best guide!

We had an amazing tour today! Our guide, Jeffrey, gave us so much information about Penang’s history and we learned a lot. He was also very accommodating with changing up our itinerary, since we wanted to skip Penang Hill to spend more time in George Town. I was able to see everything I wanted to see, and more! We were met by Goh who looked after us exceptionally well. My wife can’t walk far especially in the heat and Goh really went out of her way to look after her. After a tour of Georgetown and a spectacular Temple we visited Penang Hill where the views were amazing. After a quick view of the street art we visited Chew Jetty which was very interesting. We had planned to have lunch at the Hawker Centre but as it was very hot and my wife was quite tired we went back to the ship. Again Goh was really helpful in getting us dropped off as close to the ship as possible. An excellent tour.

A great intro to Penang. Lester was a knowledgeable, friendly, effusive host with excellent insight into both the history, culture and politics of the city. He guided us with an expert touch: when we went up to Penang Hill, Lester knew all the shortcuts and best vantage points for great pictures away from the crowds. He explained the history behind the neighboring Thai and Burmese as we walked through the halls. And he navigated the stalls at New World Park like the expert he is, bringing us to the best prawn noodles and char kwey teow there. Lester also gave us some valuable tips for the rest of our trip. A day well spent with someone who obviously loves his city. Highly recommended--

An excellent tour around Penang/Georgetown. Our guide Jeff was very engaging and friendly. We heard a lot of history and politics and religion.
Some very interesting sites. We spent the whole 6 hours walking and driving around through various districts.

Our tour guide/driver, Eng, was there waiting for our group of 6 at the cruise port. Eng was an incredible guide and extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Penang and Malaysia. We learned so much about Penang, its people and culture in the 6hrs tour with Eng. We were also treated to the delicious dishes uniquely Penang at a local hawker center. We all enjoyed this private tour and highly recommend Eng as a guide.

We are traveling the world and I have literally been on over 50+ tours and this is easily in the Top 3 tours ever taken. Mr. Jeffrey is an amazing wealth of information and super funny. Taking a tour with Mr. Jeffrey is like walking or riding through history. I hated when the tour ended. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
I recommend taking this tour on your 1st day to get the lay of the land.

Our guide was very knowledgeable but….. he picked us up and claimed he used his voice too much the day prior thus he was hoarse. Our assessment, being in the medical field, he appeared to be sick with hoarseness, cough, watery eyes. Two days after the tour my wife came down with the same symptoms. At the very minimum, we would have appreciated him wearing a mask or even cancelling the tour.

Most enjoysble tour up to Penang Hill and the funicular
Didn't stck strictly to the itinerary but the reschedule worked well.
Lester was a good guide and gave us lots of information when we were on the hill. He also took us around Chow Jetty and told us the history of the area

Our guide Law was a very knowledgeable man who took us around Georgetown explained the history of Penang showed us areas of interest to me and my husband.
We went up Penang Hill via Jeep and he accompanied us showing us around. Law speaks perfect English and this help the experience. We would highly recommend a excursion with Law.

This was a great tour. There is a lot of stairs at the temple so beware if you have mobility issues. The tour guide Mr Jeff was knowledgeable and friendly and his English was good. He had a great sense of humor. I would recommend this tour.

We enjoyed a wonderful day with Ang, our guide/driver for a day of some of Penang’s highlights. Ang is an outstanding guide who shared his wealth of knowledge about local sites and culture. He is also a genuinely nice man to spend the day with. At the end of the tour, Ang took us to a local food court where he helped us select the best flavors of Penang.

Josh was a phenomenal guide. He planned a trip based on our interest and we did it all. His commentary and knowledge was outstanding. We had an excellent private tour of Penang with Lester, who should honestly be on the “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Penang” hotline. Friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and full of great stories, he made every stop feel personal—not rushed or scripted.
We covered all the must-see Penang sights, and then came the highlight: lunch at a very clean local hawker center where my husband and I were the only tourists. If that’s not a stamp of authenticity, I don’t know what is. The food was amazing, and Lester expertly guided us on what to order and how to eat it—saving us from any accidental culinary faux pas.
As a wonderful surprise, Lester also took photos and videos for us, and not just quick phone snaps. Photography is one of his passions, and it showed—we ended up with better vacation photos than we usually manage on our own (and without the awkward arm stretch or stranger assistance).
