The tour starts at the beautiful, sandy beach of Kalandos! After an equipment check and safety briefing by your certified guide, you’ll be ready to go! You’ll be paddling a distance of about 9 km. Along the way, the view from the neighboring Cycladic islands is breathtaking! You will paddle among awesome geological formations along the coastline, make stops at tiny sea coves, until you reach the most impressive of them all: Rhina Cave with its ceiling of miniature stalactites and its inviting beach nearby! Rhina Cave’s pristine, secluded beach invites you to relax. We'll make a stop at the beach for about 30-40 min. Your guide will prepare for you delicious snacks. All you have to do is just sit back and enjoy, or swim, snorkel and explore the rich marine life of the area! Then back to our kayaks to head back to the starting point at Kalandos Beach. End the tour with a delicious traditional (optional) meal at the local taverna.

The hike takes a route through small and picturesque traditional villages and areas of unrivaled natural beauty. You'll start and end your hike at Halki, a gem village which boasts samples of remarkable neoclassical architecture. Hike through the scenic valley of Tragea, dotted with Byzantine churches different in architectural style and from various eras, some decorated with outstanding frescoes. You ’ll hike through the area’s olive, fig, and citrus groves to reach Panagia Drosiani, one of the Balkans’ oldest churches, dating back to the 6th century AD. In the heart of the village of Kaloxylos you will visit the folklore museum, where you will have the opportunity to take a step back in time and marvel the rare collections of a bygone age. At the end of your hike, you'll visit the local distillery producing Kitron, Naxos’ citrus-based liqueur. Your hike ends with a delicious meal (optional) at one of the island's best traditional tavernas or with free time to wander around Halki.

On your hike we will see the mountain fountains, the cave of Zas, which according to legend is the place where the young Zeus found refuge to avoid the vengeful wrath of Kronos. From the top of Zas we will enjoy the panoramic view that under good weather conditions encompasses the entire southern Aegean, from Crete to the Asia Minor coasts. We suggest 2 hiking options based on your personal experience. We have the easy and medium level options. In the easy option, the hike will start from the old church of Agia Marina and we will end up at the summit of Za. The duration of the route is approximately 3 hours. The 2nd and medium difficulty option starts from the fountain of Aries, we meet the Za cave and continue to the summit and then return to Agia Marina. The duration of the route is approximately 3 1/2 hours. The guide is a certified and local guide, and lives in Filoti which is located below the Za mountain. He has extensive experience of the area and historical knowledge.

Start your day with a convenient transfer service from your hotel. Your hike starts at Kinidaros, a scenic village nestled amid marble quarries. As you hike all the way down to the river, the views of the nearby mountains as they blend with the deep blue of the Aegean are breathtaking! As soon as you reach the riverbanks, the landscape changes completely. The air is cooler, shady spots abound, and vegetation is rioting next to abandoned watermills, lagoons, and small waterfalls, while crabs and water turtles make their way at the water’s edge next to oleander bushes and plane trees. The trail ends in Eggares, an old, quiet farming village, where you’ll have the chance to visit one of Naxos’s oldest remaining olive mills, dating back to at least the late 1800s when it pressed locally-grown olives for the village community. At Eggares, we’ll share a great, leisurely meal at one of the village’s best traditional tavernas. Then our transport will take you back to your accommodations!

After a short scenic drive from Naxos Town or another pick-up location, arrive in this fertile valley filled with sycamore trees, olive groves, and citrus orchards. Discover the Kouros of Farangi and the Kouros of Flerio—impressive ancient statues dating back to the 6th century BC. Continue your hike westward to explore the ruins of the 17th-century Jesuit Palace, nestled between Melanes and Potamia. Wander through the charming villages of Potamia, known for their lush, tropical-like landscape, serene creek, and verdant orchards. Along the way, visit Koko’s Tower, a fascinating Venetian structure hidden among the greenery. Rather than simply reaching the summit, you'll explore Mount Zas through guided botanical and geological interpretation. Learn to identify native plants and wild herbs, discover their traditional uses on Naxos, observe the surrounding landscape, and understand how the island's geology has shaped its mountains, trails, and ecosystems. Throughout the hike, you'll also hear the myths and stories that have made Mount Zas one of the most legendary places in the Cyclades.
