What are people saying about Lyon

Delightful tour of top Lyon sights
Really enjoyable tour that introduced us to sights, sounds, and tastes of Lyonnais life. Our guide (and her guide-in-training companion) was delightful and made the tour very engaging by asking questions and testing our knowledge of the city! She was also very flexible — our tour was rearranged because of miserable rainy weather. We had several magical moments on the tour, including an impromptu and very in-depth lesson on silk-making! Definitely a worthwhile tour. Thank you!

From casual to hardcore wine fan. This tour is a perfect match.
Justine takes this tour to a whole other level by engaging with the group in a very friendly and inviting way. You will learn about wine as well. Justine has a very strong education on that topic and is incredibly knowledgeable on all aspects of wine making and beyond. The scenic views, friendly staff, and good wine make this booking a no brainer.

Great tour with Anna!
This was a great tour! Anna was delightful, and did the tour on her birthday no less! She was super friendly and incredibly informative and we learned a lot. Each place we visited on the tour had very generous portions and we were very full by the end! Highly recommend this tour and Anna!

Fantastic Food Tour
This was a wonderful way to learn more about the history and gastronomy of Lyon. We had a wonderful time sampling some of the local delicacies and our guide Nathalie was amazing! Such a warm and welcoming person who gave us numerous ideas how to enjoy the remainder of our stay in Lyon. Would recommend highly!!

Lyon super bikefriendly
Excellent e-bikes! Especially liked the cushion handlebars. We were on the Viking river cruise already done excursions with them. But Nate took us to places that we never saw, including the city hall with magnificent horse statues and in the park of Gold Head, aMing other places. T Lyon great place to ride a bicycle because of the bicycle lanes. It was comfortable for me and I don’t like riding a bike next to cars.

Vineyard Experience
This was a very interesting tour. We visited two vineyards, and learned a great deal about the growing techniques. The vineyards do not use pesticides, and pick the grapes by hand- no mechanical pickers. The tour guide was excellent both in knowledge of wine and keeping to the schedule.

Great introduction to the food culture of Lyon
This tour was a great introduction to Lyon, and the food that defines the French food revolution. Our host did a fantastic job of showing us local food and wine, and explaining how it came to define French cuisine. She also gave us insight into some very local items including passageways and historic restaurants. I would definitely recommend taking this tour if you are a first time visitor to Lyon.

FONDO vs Fon-don’t 😉
François was a excellent tour guide! Extremely informative and a history buff to boot! It was raining in the morning but he adapted the tour to accommodate my mother who preferred to stay in while we toured Pérouges. By the time we reached Annecy the rain had stopped and his recommendation for lunch was beyond just amazing! Only thing we’d have done differently was to ONLY ORDER fondu for one! We did fondo for 2 with another dish and salad to split between 4 people and sooooooo sadly left a large amount of cheesy heaven behind😩 Annecy is beautiful with a view of the French alps and crystal clear water..truly a amazing day!

Do it if you want to learn French way of cooking.
It is an excellent class with fantastic chef Terrie. We went to a small market on the river bank to pick up freshest veggies. Then, we started with disassembling chicken for three different dishes, fortifying ourselves with good wine. We did soup, chicken breast sou-vide, and chicken with veggies and mushrooms. In parallel we did a praline cookies and a praline tart.
Finally, we have a lovely lunch. Through all these steps, Terrie was exceptionally, friendly, funny, and personable. This was our may be tenth cooking class in various trips around the world and in our experience the best and the most instructive.

Great introduction to Northern Rhône wines
This was a wonderful introduction to the Northern Rhône! We visited two wineries - the first was a much older and more established winery where we toured the facilities and did a guided tasting of 6 wines with some very light nibbles (bread, cheese, meat). Well priced bottles - I bought one to take home for €25. The second stop was a much newer producer who started during covid. It was interesting to learn about how they have started and navigating the complex legal requirements for wines in the region. We tasted four of their five wines and bought another for €13 which we enjoyed by the river in Lyon later that day. Our guide, Eddy, was knowledgeable and friendly, interpreting for the producers when needed. Highly recommend as a half-day experience to learn more about the region’s wines!
