Dating back at least 3500 years, this ancient form of winter hiking is ideal for exploring the Lappish nature offering great opportunities for photography. The tour is guided by a professional photography guide who will also teach you some tricks and techniques for your own landscape and nature photography. We will take breaks during the tour and one longer break will include building a fire and enjoying some light snacks and warm drinks. Tour starts at our meeting point in Levi where everyone will get their equipment ready for the day. We provide you with high quality snowshoes, especially made for deep-snow hiking. After a drive to the wilderness location, we will enter the deep snow in the pristine Arctic nature. If we are lucky, we may encounter some wildlife during our tour.

How to catch fish when it’s hiding under a one-meter layer of ice? You will learn that and much more, as we take you ice fishing on a frozen lake amidst beautiful winter scenery. This experience starts at our meeting point in Levi to get all the equipment for ice fishing. After, we travel around 20 minutes to reach the ice-covered lake. Then it is all about fishing! We walk on top of the lake on a thick layer of ice and find the best spots for the day. The main activity is of course ice fishing itself, but the frozen lake offers also an ideal setting for landscape and wildlife photos. We will also set up a campfire and enjoy some hot drinks and snacks – and if there is big enough catch, we can fry the fish too!

The Lapland Hotels SnowVillage is rebuilt from scratch every year, delighting visitors with a changing theme and stunning ice art. For the upcoming winter season 2024–2025, theme is underwater world, featuring its diverse marine life – from whales to turtles and from seahorses to octopuses. This annual ice exhibition offers an enchanting experience, including snow and ice art, a unique ice bar, a movie theater, and our annual favourite: the ice slide! We will pick you up from your accommodation with our private 4x4 SUV, a rugged off-road vehicle built for safety and reliability for the arctic. The entrance tickets are included in the price for ice exhibition and ice bar. You will have approximately 90 minutes of free time to wander around the SnowVIllage. This should be enough to see everything, and even have some tasty drinks at the ice bar. Our private guide will be available for the entire visit at the Snow Village.
