Nishiki Market Food Tour
Jasmine was a great guide in the Nishiki Market. She took us to four different food vendors and encouraged us to stop whenever we wanted. She is friendly, warm, with perfect English. Highly recommend and go early, before the crowds gather.

Food is to be experienced
Walking around Kyoto, getting to know good places to eat, experiencing food… is just one of the best ways to get to know a place, people and culture. Nishiki market, basement of Daimaru all offer a variety of food unimaginable!

Food Tour!
The Nishiki Market Tour is memorable and enjoyable. We were able to taste many dishes as we walked through the market. Our guide was informative, pleasant, and communicative. The directions to the meeting point were clear and accurate. We were able to locate our guide easily and promptly.

Yuki was an excellent...
Yuki was an excellent tour guide and had a great sense of humor that helped propel the tour. I may have been the only person on today’s tour, but I can imagine that his approach would make larger groups feel similarly. The food was great and he was more than happy to stop at several stalls all along Nishiki Market.

Wonderful way to experience Nishiki Market
Yuko was a wonderful host to our family of 4 (two kids 9,11). She was kind, informative, and knew all of the must have foods to try. It was a lovely way to get an insider’s view and experience the market. We’d highly recommend.

Wonderful food and market experience
Tour through Pontocho Alley was lovely and informative before the Markets. Great introduction to this busy place. Lots of yummy aromas and taste before a wonderful brunch. Aki was a brilliant guide.

Great city, people, & food
We had a great time with the host and tour group walking the area around and inside Nishiki Market. I thought all the food was great and a couple of items (various pickles and a croquette) were some of the tastiest we’ve had so far in Tokyo or Kyoto. I can’t remember the guide’s name but he’s an architecture student and was extremely kind and informative and did a great job navigating a group around the busy Nishiki.

Amazing time
We had an amazing time with Louis, he was an expert guide, and we would highly recommend him for Tour, especially as he was able to cater the experience to make it fun for my kids.

So much fun and so much food! We let our guide Yumi choose the dishes and were introduced to so many new flavours and dishes. Fabulous tour and guide.

My husband and I booked...
My husband and I booked the 9:30 tour with our 6 month old baby. Amy was very helpful and we were super lucky to have no other people book for the same time.
Amy was so knowledgeable and passionate about Kyoto and the market. Plus she had tons of recommendations for activities as well
