Excellent King Crab excursion, great fun.

This was excellent. The gentlemen and lady who work on the boat were so knowledgeable, friendly, we felt totally safe too. They were so knowledgeable and the enthusiasm for their trade poured out of them on to us. It was interesting to learn all about the King Crabs and see them in their habitat in a tank on the boat, along with octopus and more sea creatures, and we saw an example haul. What also made my day..being a bird watcher, was the feeding of a sea eagle who swooped over the boat to catch the fish being thrown 😀. Amazing. Wear warm coats and layers, hats, gloves etc if you go in October as I did, though they also provide you huge each a huge warm coat made especially for this. I was so lucky with the weather..blue skies no clouds😲👍..

A Great Drive Around Ketchikan!

This tour was a wonderful cruise around town in a very comfortable tour bus, equipped with phone chargers, small snacks, and a very knowledgeable owner/operator. Kaitlyn's love of Ketchikan was obvious - from the exacting way she located wildlife for our viewing pleasure to the way she talked about residents and life about the town. Kaitlyn's goofy energy in combination to her life-long experience in Ketchikan leaves you feeling good after a tour with a REAL native. This is a very relaxing tour (light walking at just a few stops, with only one very minor climb)! We didn't get to see starfish but we saw many bald eagles, harbor seals, beautiful birds, and a mama bear with her two cubs. We also got a beautiful picture at a local waterfall. You never know what you're going to get when you book online... But I really felt this trip was worth every penny, PLUS a tip! ;) (P.S. If you're cruising and booking this as part of your time in port, DON'T WORRY - she WILL have you back on time!)

Awesome experience and funny guide for our family

Our guide, Daniel, was awesome. We went late in the season on an October cruise and even though the animal activity was less, he made our experience engaging and exciting. We went to the beach and he showed all sorts of amazing sea life to our kids in the tide pools. He took us to the salmon ladder and hidden waterfalls and we tried several times to see bears but they just weren’t there and that’s okay. He was a great guide, funny, and we learned all about life in Alaska. Strongly recommend!

True Alaskan Wildlife Experience!

Very fun and truly a breath taking experience! Lauren was an amazing guide and she was so knowledgeable about the area. We went to the Salmon Hatchery and Herron Cove, and saw a lot of interesting birds and seagulls. We went down to the rock shores and watched several seals swimming a few yards from us. We had a great time at the Totem Pole park where 3 tribes would convene, and we also went hiking by the waterfalls. We were literally next to the water as it was dashing down from the mountain! We didnt see any bears because it is almost hibernation time, but we had a really great time over all! Lauren showed us where the salmons would spend their final days...and where to catch them. We definitely recommend this adventure tour to any one coming to Alaska or Ketchikan!

This was the highlight of...

This was the highlight of our vacation. Saw many feeding humpback whales. Boat was not crowded and super comfortable. Could sit indoors if the weather was bad and upstairs outdoor for a better view. The snacks, hot chocolate and coffee were icing on the cake. Thanks for a wonderful first time whale watching.

A must do kayak tour

The four of us had a wonderful experience with the Ketchikan Kayak tour group. The guide was very experienced and took us on a safe and interesting path through the beautiful waters. His knowledge of the wildlife and plants gave us a broad understanding and appreciation of the area. They were accommodating when I misread the meeting point information. The after tour snack of salmon, dips, veggies and crackers hit the spot.

Don't Go past this trip - The cost is worth it.

For this experience do not look at the price as the reason to give this a miss. This rated as by far our best trip of our recent Canada / Alaska Holiday. The team was very friendly and our van driver was polite and being that he was a local to Ketchikan gave us excellent advise on places to visit and see after our tour. So back to the tour, we were picked up at the cruise terminal and taken by van 30 minutes to Salmon Falls Lodge, the staging point for our boat trip. We were kitted out with Rubber Gumboots and Waders to keep us dry. However the day we were there it was mirror flat seas and no wind. We did dress warm for the wind chill from the boats when travelling. The boats are RHIBS with 40HP 4 stroke engines and in very good condition. And you are given good instruction on how to operate them as this is a self drive - guided tour. there was three boats in total on our trip - total of 3 paying guests. The guide and two following. The trip it self we were on the water for close to the 2.5 hours, with a very experienced guide Danyel . She showed us the seals, Bald Eagles and gave us a very good commentary when we moored up together. The trip ended back at Salmon Falls lodge with a "Feast" and I call it this as we had three large platters of dips for a variety crackers, vegetables. The dips were crab, salmon and humas. Along with a cold drink. This is included in the price. This trip no matter what the weather would be worth it. Just dress correctly and enjoy getting up close to the area in your own boat. Outstanding experience. Brilliant.

The trip was in a seaplane with about 8 or so passengers. You each get a window seat with good views. The pilot was very friendly and gave an excellent commentary pointing out places of interest below interspersed with relaxing music. The flight goes along the coast so you get excellent views of the terrain and amazing scenery. Something we would love to experience again. Would very highly recommend.

Fantastic Ketchikan Day

Wow! Hans was our tour guide and if I could give him 10 stars I would. He met us as soon as we stepped off the ship with a smile and lots of enthusiasm. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and so engaging with our kids. We had 9 people total (4 adults, and kids aged 19, 17, 13, 12 and 5). Everyone had a blast. We started the day by exploring sea life like starfish, mussels, crabs, eagles, and more. Next we went to a beautiful waterfall and hiked all the way to the top with his help and direction. Next we headed over to find a bear, which we did! Hans was all eyes and ears trying to make sure we got to see one. We also toured the totem poles and Hans told us all the stories and history. I didn’t think this stop would be interesting to my kids, but he was so excited about the history that the kids loved it! This was by far our favorite day in Alaska. Thank you for a once in a lifetime experience.
