Silver Cities
Both cities feature visits to jewelry stores with a wide selection of silver items. Explanations were provided about the differences in the quality of silver. Both cities feature their Catholic churches and their unique art and design. The colonial architecture of the buildings of Taxco's city centre and it's white wash is rather stunning. Our guide, Eduardo, was informative, jovial and has a great sense of humour, which I truly appreciate.

Way too much time spent in the silver boutiques. One rather than two would have been great. Our guide compounded two jobs, being the driver and the guide and in two languages.. She is a Super driver 5 Stars for sure!

Subterranean wonders
Moderate level of activity with walking with a bit humidity inside grottos. Designed illumination highlights nature's breathtaking wonders.

The best experience in Cuernavaca and Taxco
We’ve had the best time with Gabriela visiting Cuernavaca and Taxco on our private tour from Mexico City. Gabby is absolutely amazing- knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We’ve learned a lot, saw unique places and loved learning and sharing. Would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent but tiring day; first-rate guide
We went on an excursion to Xochicalco and to Taxco. It was a lot of driving, but well worth it. Our guide, Daniel, was excellent. He was engaging and personable. Since some in our group spoke Spanish and others did not, he switched back and forth easily from English to Spanish. He also adjusted his comments for those who knew very little about Mexico and those of us who knew quite a bit. He was knowledgeable, but unlike other guides who often just make things up, he was open about what was speculation, and if he didn't know something, he was honest about that as well, which we respected. I highly recommend Daniel as a guide. The Xochicalco archaeological site is excellent, with a small but good museum and the Pyramid of Quetzalcóatl and the ballcourts. It was a hot day and there was a lot of uphill climbing, but the views were worth it. It is not a well-known site, and there were very few people there, unlike other touristy places like Teotihuacán. Taxco, of course, is a jewel, and the views of the city, along with the Santa Prisca church, are a must-see. The price of the tour was reasonable, and Daniel let us stay longer than the contracted period of time; he was patient and understanding.

Excellent Experience All Around!
Excellent Private Tour to Taxco. We were treated royally by our knowledgeable guide Carlos and our driver Carlos. We called them Carlos squared. We added stops in both locations and the guide paid the entrance fees. We changed the lunch time also. Everything was very customizable. We were very pleased with the full day experience. Good tour but it is a long day. Our tour guide was very pleasant and informative. Cuernavaca is a bigger city with a smaller colonial city center. Taxco was quaint and good place to purchase silver.

Sunny trip to Cuernavaca and Taxco
This was a lovely trip to take. Not far away from Mexico City, you get the chance to visit two places Cuernavaca and Taxco on the same day, and not get too tired. We also stoped by to shop for some silver jewlery and had an amazing lunch in Taxco. This town is amazing, beautiful views, quaint streets, cute little corners, and ofcourse lovely people. Our tour guide Julio Cesar was well prepared, full of positive energy and always there for us. Thank you!

When to visit

Taxco is a great overnight stop if you're traveling between Acapulco and Mexico City, with a solid selection of nice, if not luxurious, hotels.
Try Taxco’s signature drink, called Berta, a combination of tequila with honey and lemon.
