What are people saying about El Calafate

Memories of a life time
Pablo was an excellent guide who checked and double checked to ensure our trip was perfect. Moreno Glacier is a definite must see when visiting the area and the optional boat trip is also a must. Getting to experience the glacier up close and taking photos so close was a fantastic experience.
The walkways are also very nice, and they kindly let you know how easy or difficult and the time it might take one to complete which was helpful too.
Memories of a life time!

Best no pressure experience allowing you to take in everything!
It’s a long day traveling but time well spent, the guide was extremely informative on all aspects of the journey including the wildlife and the ecosystem we were passing through and the views were stunning, would most definitely recommend it, the experience of crossing the border from Argentina to Chile was an experience in itself and I’m glad we did it verses trying to do it on our own. And the lunch was quite good.

This tour starts out a...
This tour starts out a little early, we went in mid-March and we were very cold in that shuttle until our first stop (the rest area at the historic old hotel). We should have been better prepared for the cold, but the shuttle did not have heat and felt breezy that early in the morning. We lucked out with the weather, with a warm and sunny day and clear views of the mountains. We were only in El Chalten for enough time to eat lunch at one of the local restaurants - there was not time to explore the town. Lunch was just okay, everyone eats together at communal tables. Our group got separated and one of us ended up at a table with a group that did not speak the same language so it was a little awkward for her. We would have preferred less time for lunch, maybe something that was more simple and more time to explore the area. Our tour guide was interesting and charismatic, but she switched back and forth between Spanish and English so quickly that it was difficult to follow what she was saying at times. The walk to the Los Condores viewpoint was by far the highlight of the day. The waterfall walk was fine but there were a lot of tour groups there so it felt a little crowded.

Lovely day to view the Glacier and the park
Seem to have dealt with alot of companies on this trip; Tangol, Gigantes Patagones, and the tour operator on the day seemed to be Tiempolibre who supplied the coaches and tour guide. Prompt pickup at my hotel and a bus feeder transfer to a coach outside El Calafate. Was booked to do the optional boat ride at 10AM with balcones after. You can also buy the park ticket at the park entrance 45,000 ars with cash or card. Toilet breaks along the way, and there is a Cafe at the glacier centre. After getting our boat tickets we were then told the boat had departed, and the boat was cancelled until 1PM. So we did the balcones first. No big deal. Stunning glacier and good narration in English. I would recommend this trip.

Perito Moreno Glacier
The drive from El Calafate is about 2.5 hours. On the way you stop at several spots for photographs of Lake Argentina and landscapes. After you enter the national park we drove to some catamarans, boarding one to go to within 200 meters of the south face of the Perito Moreno glacier. Afterwards we went to a restaurant located near walking paths that provide views of the north and south face of the glaciers. The paths are very well constructed but there are hundreds of steps down and them back up. The views were amazing. We saw and heard “calving” of the glacier (where pieces break off and fall into the lake). The drive back was just over an hour.

The must do tour
Nothing can prepare you for the sight of the Glacier. It is truly inspiring. Nicholas our guide was able to explain the geology of the region and explain what we were seeing and hearing! Really appreciate both the time on the walkways and the boat. It gave us time to take it all in.

We enjoyed this excursion. The time flies by quickly and our guide Noella was good at providing information during the more monotonous parts (the drive back and forth). Everything was clearly explained, obviously slightly better in Spanish, but still more than sufficiently in English. The glacier itself is amazing and we enjoyed having the time to do both the boat ride and the walkways, as they provide different but valuable perspectives. I've heard people say that this can be expensive compared to just going it alone, and while that may be true, the convenience of having everything handled and not driving ourselves was worth it for us.

Highly recommended
The experience was amazing. Absolute would recommend. Staff were friendly and very informative. The views were stunning, they give you ample time in front of each glacier they take you to see so you can truly enjoy it and take in the magnificent views. The food was good but the dessert was amazing. Truly a wonderful experience from start to finish.

A great tour with incredible views!
It wa so much fun, but REALLY cold- like way colder than the tour company told us. The guides Manuel and Selene were great (Manuel even gave us his jacket)and made sure we got to see different aspects of the glacier as well as learn about it. The ice trekking is well worth the cost- there were many guides with us to make sure we were safe and a lot goes into letting plebs walk on the ice. It was really fun and a thoughtful ending to have whiskey on the glacier! After the trek, and ferry ride, we went to the boardwalks. I couldn’t imagine only getting to see the glacier from the boat or boardwalks- if you can do it, the trek is well worth the extra $!

The lady accompanied us...
The lady accompanied us to the airport was so nice. She provided significant help when the airport was chaotic due to yesterday's cancelling. The company "Patagonia Dreams" are really well organized. Not only the airport transfers, all their other tours I joined were wonderful, such as the one going to Perito Moreno with mini trekking.

Spectacular journey at glacier Perito Moreno
This is a must do and make sure to select the option with navigation. It was an incredible experience and journey to the glacier Perito Moreno. Our tour guide Alexandra did a superb job with all the information she gave us during the hour it took to get from El Calafate town to the glacier park. The sceneries are breath taking and we were lucky to see a piece of the glacier falling in the water.
We definately recommend this tour. It is worth it.
Thank you for this great experience.

You can take perfect photos during the trek, and the weather can be adjusted, with perfect lighting. The guides are very friendly and contribute to the atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
