Better than Flying. A chance to see the besuty of the tour route
A beautiful drive through South Island. Much better than flying. Rosie, our tour guide was prompt in picking us up after a liitle miscommnication in locations. The vehicle was very comfortable and snacks, beverages, and lunch was provided. There were enough rest stops along the way and we were on a nice relaxing pace. Plenty of opportunities to take great photos. Rosie was very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable of the history of the people and area. She was also a very safw and attentive driver. After the required driver change at Mt. Cook, we had a new driver. He was very good and knowledgeable. He providedus with some good advice on things to do and see in Queenstown. It was a memorable and beautiful drive.

A great day was had
The day started cloudy but ended up absolutely perfect. Our driver, Craig, was on time, friendly, and very well informed. His commentary was very interesting and peppered with personal stories. Just really great. Lunch was beautiful and the “long harbor” cruise was terrific. We did see dolphins so well done boat team. The commentary on the boat was excellent as well and much was learned and appreciated.

An exciting adventure exploring Arthur's Pass.
A full exciting day exploring Arthur’s Pass National Park in the heart of the Southern Alps of New Zealand. En route we saw majestic mountains, braided rivers, steep gorges, waterfalls, sheep farms, sunflower fields, deer farms, Castle Rock where scenes from “Lord of the Rings” were filmed and walked lush trails. The sheep farm owner was ill that day, so the sheep farm portion was cancelled. Lunch was optional at Arthur's Pass. Jude was a fantastic tour guide and driver! We had excitement on the return ride to the ship as our group, consisting of three couples, was delayed three hours due to a serious traffic accident. The ship's own tour was also delayed and the ship waited for their group. Quite the adventure!

Viator tour of Lyttelton and Christchurch
If you have a choice, Joseph was an excellent guide. We stopped at an old wagon stop out of Lyttelton and if you enjoy old buildings this one will delight you. The stop at Mona Vale park was fun and we liked the walk along the river. Following this, Joseph stoped at a downtown collection of restaurants, called the Riverside Market. There were many choices in this food court area. The Barbecue was quite good.
We stopped at the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve and took the 45 minute guided tour which was included on the tour. If you haven't seen a kiwi bitd you will see one here. Our guide was a Wildlife Environmental Biologist and knowledgeable. The time here was well spent. Joseph took us back through the highway tunnel and got us back on time at the cruise ship.
It was somewhat confusing as to where to meet the tour. You take the free shuttle from the cruise ship dock and get off at the first stop. You will be met by the tour representative who will assist you to the correct bus. Don't get on the bus to Christchurch, that is the wrong shuttle to meet the correct bus.

Brilliant Tour! Fascinating information.
What a fantastic experience with Giles on this tour. What he doesn't know about wines probably isn't worth knowing! We visited some fantastic wineries, and it was great seeing the vines just about to be harvested. Giles' was brilliant in adding so much to the information being shared from the winery staff. The wines were brilliant, and a lovely platter lunch was included. What a fantastic day, comfortable, interesting, delicious and well-hosted by Giles.

Our tour guide was Joseph...
Our tour guide was Joseph who was awesome. He was super knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. Very friendly and enjoyed talking with him. The jet boat ride is worth it! And the hiking stops were interesting and pretty, if a bit challenging (looking at you Devil’s Punchbowl stairs).

Attention to Detail
Attention to detail is top-notch on this hike. From ponchos to snacks to lunch and a keepsake water bottle - they think of everything!
Ita is an excellent guide. She is knowledgeable about history, plants, and the area. We were lucky enough to be the only two on the hike and thoroughly enjoyed our hike and the time with Ita. She treated us like we were her personal guests.

Worth the long drive
It is a long day with only 2 hours in the park and a choice of 2 of 3 places to visit/ hike. Choose one and spend your time there not rushing! Kea view was worth the climb but wished there was more time. Also did not like lunch.. not into buttered white bread and egg. Guide was great!

Beautiful destinations
This was a fun and educational excursion for the family. We learned a lot about the different kinds of sheep and wool, and the whole family loved feeding the sheep. What was unexpected was that the Glenafric farm is located on the water and we experienced a beautiful cliff view overlooking MacKintosh beach before lunch. The lunch had so many tasty items, and it was definitely a highlight. The winery was a relaxing end to the day, and the kids got ice cream and a drink, and played corn hole while we did the tasting while sitting outdoors. Overall, this was a wonderful way to experience the beauty of the region.

Great tour option for our cruise
This was a last-minute excursion for us when we were taking a cruise, and we were so glad that we made time to work this into our itinerary! We were so excited to get to see some of the New Zealand wildlife. Very well appointed and easy to navigate. My 81 year old Mother was able to make it through the park with her walker. We loved the kiwi exhibit in particular. It was easy to access through Uber. There’s a nice café on site where you can get a cold drink after your visit. Well worth the money and a great way to spend the afternoon in Christchurch.

Even though we're heading...
Even though we're heading into spring (September) there was still a lot of snow on the mountains so the views are amazing.
I didn't think I'd take so many photos of mountains and landscape lol.
You also have the opportunity to meet people from anywhere in the world or even other kiwis and that can make the trip a lot of fun.
There is an outdoor observation car for you to take spectacular photos but be prepared for whatever season you are travelling in. It wasn't too cold for me but it was for other people.
There's also a food car which caters for gluten free and vegans but you are allowed to take your own food and drinks on board which is brilliant. The coffee was great.
I'd recommend this trip.

Great fun and v enjoyable
Enjoyable and fun.
Ian and Lily together ensured we were briefed, had the proper gear and were on hand to guide us till we got the ropes.
We hadn’t done anything like this before but it was safe and we had a superb time. The weather and wind conditions were also conducive to the whole experience.
