Nice scenic tour of Christchurch

A nice tour of Christchurch and surrounds. Some beautiful views of the city. We especially like the beach with volcanic rocks and the botanical garden. Our guide was very accomodating.

First, Geordie was our driver and he was very personable, was on time and kept in contact with us before the tour to make sure we knew where to meet. The issue we have is with the owner of this business. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about where you are going on the tour, then this not the tour company to use. I don’t think we’re the first ones to mention that their ‘tour guides’ are not really ‘guides’. Evidently, they are instructed to drive the clients around to the places, drop us off and pick us up to take to the next place. Also, they had four adults swished into a Jeep Cherokee, which was very uncomfortable. Again, I don’t believe this is the driver’s fault, it’s evidently what they are paid to do. I wasn’t expecting a private tour, but we did expect to be in a comfortable vehicle. We’ve done several tours on Viator, and this has been the most disappointing.

Our tours are designed to offer comfortable transport and an enjoyable overview of Christchurch, which almost all the travelers appreciated so far. However, we understand that this style may not suit everyone. We wish you all the best with your future travels. Additionally, We would like to clarify the situation regarding your tour. At the time of your booking, this was arranged as a private tour with our guide James. However, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, James was unable to work on that day. As a result, your tour was reassigned and combined with another small group. Importantly, you were informed of this change in advance within the cancellation window and were asked whether you would be comfortable joining another group, with an adjusted pickup time 30 minutes earlier. You acknowledged this arrangement at the time. Given that you were made fully aware of the change beforehand and chose to proceed with the tour, it is not accurate to suggest that this information was withheld.

Sites of Christchurch

We had a great time visiting a few of the sites in Christchurch and the surroundings. Great views of the city. James, our guide, was very friendly and welcoming. Let us take our time at all of the stops and was knowledgeable about the area. We had a great visit!

Appreciated being picked up directly from the cruise ship

We only had 4 on the tour so we’re able to customise it to what we wanted to see. The last lookout at Kiwi Door is a must.

Top tour on our trip!

This was an excellent day. We received immediate contact once booked. We were given instructions on where to be picked up and given a description of the vehicle and driver picking us up. We arrived early to our pick hp spot and notified our driver. He arrived shortly after allowing us to begin a little earlier. Our driver was James. He was such a kind, respectful, and friendly young man. As 2 women, we felt very safe with him. He helped Make our tour extra special. He was also very own photographer and took lots of pictures for us. At each stop he walked with us to the site which was nice. I’ve had tours where the driver stops and lets you get out and tells you where to go. I highly recommend this tour! Ask for James, you won’t regret it!

Chauffeur driven

It was good to be chauffeur driven and tour guided. However, my driver is a Korean who lives in New Zealand for five years and still lacking in knowledge of New Zealand and his grasp of English is not good. He is pleasant and courteous and I feel comfortable with him. I am happy with his service, but would like someone genuinely “local”.
