To enter Playa Palancar Beach Club, you'll pay an entrance fee of USD$20, which includes a beach chair and use of the facilities. Aim to spend more than this, though, if you want to enjoy the extras such as food and drinks, massages, snorkeling tours, and photo shoots.

El Cedral village, with its Maya ruins, is the nearest attraction to Playa Palancar. Other beach clubs, such as Playa El Cielo and Mr. Sancho's, are also nearby. To the east is Punta Sur Eco Beach Park (Faro Celerain Ecological Reserve), where you can admire birds and crocodiles in nature.

Playa Palancar is one of the furthest beach clubs from the port, meaning you’ll find fewer cruise crowds here. The easiest way to arrive is by taxi, with the average rate for a car for up to four people being US$30. Organize your ride back to port in advance.

El Cielo and Columbia Reef are top offshore dive spots at the southern end of Cozumel island, home to sea turtles, starfish, and stingrays. If you prefer to snorkel directly from shore, Punta Sur is good, although you need to swim for around 20 minutes to reach the reef.
