Dolphins-Snorkeling-Lunch
Family fun in the Azores making a valiant attempt to find whales. No whales sighted but huge group (200+) of dolphins to make the exciting excursion on an inflatable boat worth it! Nice combo of animal watching, delicious lunch in Villa Franca, capped off by snorkeling in the lagoon of the Princess Ring (Islet).

Fantastic boat ride, lots of dolphins
When we booked this I thought we would be on a big boat, however when we got there it was sort of rubber dinghy sort of speedboat! (I’m sure it has a name) If I’d known I probably wouldn’t have booked it however I’m soo pleased I didn’t know as it was fantastic. We saw so many dolphins and felt closer to them as on smaller lower boat.. really sorry but I didn’t make a note of our hosts names, one was studying marine biology I believe and she was lovely, don’t know his name sterling the boat even tho they introduced themselves. Lunch was great, best tuna steak I’ve had here and my partner liked his steak. Time to swim to. Thoroughly recommend this trip!

Fun Day Out
We got to see a lot we wouldn’t otherwise have seen. Dolphins and a whole view of the beautiful island. Visiting and swimming in Vila Franca was awesome too. Plus the guides were friendly and fun.

Day Full of Fun
Whales, dolphins and flying fish. Great day on the boat. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the different species. Had a great lunch. It was better than expected. Thanks to the full day tour we were able to experience swimming at the Ilhéu de Vila Franca. Was able to bring my 8 and 12 year old. It was safe and they loved the experience.

Super trip seeing dolphins and whales
Incredible experience seeing so much dolphins and whales. Pia and Matteo have been incredible guides sharing with us there insights on how the maritime life works in the Açores. Additionally, the trip to the island has been more than worth it , snorkeling with fishes is a lot of fun.The food has surprised us quite positively in being exceptional and in a real nice ambience. We would recommend this experience.

Amazing experience
An amazing experience, we saw delphins, tunas and whales. Crew was awesome, always with a a smile explaining all details around animals and island. And Vila franca island, last island emerged in the last century (maybe you should visit vulcanology observatory where they will explain you how is was formed).

Good Experience, lovely Dolfins, and a great Guide!
The guide was great, start was about an hour after we were told to meet up. Procedings were swift and the path quite clear communicated. Time til lunch was spent whale watching and after lunch the tour was moved to the snorkeling. 2 hours of that on the lovely volcano caldera and we got picked up for our return to PD.

Awesome tour!
This was an absolutely fabulous tour by Pico de Adventure. we departed in a Zodiac boat with 22 other people - felt safe the entire time. With our captain and tour guide we were able to spot 3 types of dolphins and sperm whales. After a nice lunch, we took the ferry to go snorkeling at the islet which was amazing! There were so many different types of fish to see. Would definitely recommend this.

Great wild life & Snorkeling fun!
We have been whale & dolphins seeing before but not like this! We saw sperm whales & so many dolphins. They swam so close to the boat too. Then we stopped to grab a picnic lunch due to the restaurant being closed but I believe usually stop for lunch at a restaurant. We brought our picnic lunches to the inlet island just off the coast which is a MUST SEE if you are going to the azores. It’s a natural pool with so many fish to snorkel with! Such a unique stop & of course breath taking views.
IMPORTANT: bring a towel and suncreen for the inlet. They will give you a rain jacket and life jacket to the boat. And bring a little bag or backpack for your belongings. There is parking right after the marina, and it’s affordable. Only cost us 10 euros for the whole time we were gone from 8:00am-5:00pm. The meet up in down in the marina where the boats are docked. Look for a yellow sign !
