Our first winery will be with the regions outstanding producer of Pinot Noir. His Spätburgunder wines regularly out-perform those of Burgundy, Oregon and others from around the world. We will taste several varietals including, Weissburgunder, Gutedel, Grauburgunder, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah. Located in the heart of the Achkarren dwells one of the most renowned family wineries. This winery will furnish us with an insight into both traditional and contempory wine-making practices. Finally we will head back down through the Kaiserstuhl vineyards which pepper the graceful terraces of this majestic dormant volcano and to our final winery of the day.

Tasting begins in the wine space, followed by a video explaining how Alsace wines are made (suitable for children). Then we'll visit the cellar, dating back to 1850, with its century-old wooden barrels and scenographic space. You'll discover our rich family history and our work philosophy through an immersive video, the only one of its kind in France. The experience is projected onto 180° oak barrels in the cellar, with a soundtrack that allows the public to become totally immersed in our story. We end the tasting in our new immersive tasting and dining room, with a wine to accompany each course. You'll leave with a small bottle of our house mulled wine and a piece of Alsatian gingerbread. Maison ZEYSSOLFF is one of the few wineries in Alsace with some century-old oak casks, each with a capacity of 10,000L, still in use for the vinification of its wines. Its greatest curiosity is the ZEYSSOLFF barrel, made in 1897 for the Paris Universal Exhibition (1900). This barrel is still in use today.
