Fun Tour on Curaçao

Kathy_W, Jun 2026
Glenn was an amazing tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about Curacao. He made sure that we were on time to all of our site seeing locations and ensured we had everything that we needed. This is a great tour to get a taste of all the best highlights of Curacao and strongly recommend it! It was also great for my mother who is 83 and is not able to long walking distances.

False advertising, don’t waste your money!!!!

Tanisha_K, Jun 2026
Please donot book this tour, total scam. First of all they didn’t communicate with us not up until i called Viator multiple times then they showed up on the day late to the hotel. The tour specifically outlined that we would go to the flamingo park in the tour. Tour guide kept saying we are going we went to the Hato cave, we got a little sightseeing of the downtown area as well as going to the private beach. On our way back the tour guide say we will try and go see the flamingos nothing seen no explanation why we got dropped off back to our hotel. Now when i reached out to Viator to get a partial refund for them not fullfilling what was written in the tour, they told Viator that they took us to the park, now I have multiple witnesses and my partner can also attest that we didn’t go to no Flamingo Park all we were was promised to go. Total wasted day and time and it was not cheap 80usd per person. Very disappointing not only that we didn’t see the Flamingos or attempt to see them but the fact that they lied to Viator and told them they took us to the park, hence no partial refund. These people should not be allowed to operate any tours going forward they are unprofessional and liars. The sold us a false promise and didnot deliver. Viator should vet these tour operators better, or maybe it is just Curacao. I have never booked a tour through Viator and had this happen. Shame on them and disappointing to say the least. Stop false advertising and when people come on your tour you don’t deliver.

Tour was amazing

This was absolutely worth it. Amy from the Hato Caves was amazing absolutely loved her! Glenn our tour guide was phenomenal thank you so much!!

Unfortunate change to planned itinerary ruined experience.

Michael_S, Apr 2026
Event order did not flow as written in description, so the trip was not as good as hoped. The Flamingo portion was just a pull to the side of a highway and look at bird in a shallow lake several hundred yards away not the hands on experience described.

Fabulous tour guide and magnificent experience

Carolyn_C, Apr 2026
Tiara was an amazing tour guide, knowledgeable, kind, professional the best!!! The caves were magnificent!!

Good way to see the island.

Michael_L, Apr 2026
Finding the meeting point was confusing. They said they would meet us at our cruise port but it was actually at the next pier over from ours. Fortunately, we found them in time after asking around. The tour itself was as advertised except not in the same order. We wanted the beach time at the end so we wouldn’t be wet through it, but instead the beach stop was in the middle. Not a big deal but slightly annoying. The caves were really neat. And the guide gave us plenty of information about the areas we were passing by while driving.

Disappointing Hato Caves and Daaibooi beach tour

Heather_V, Mar 2026
Our tour began and as we were heading out of town to the beach our guide announced that he had left 10 guests behind so we went back to pick them up. I found it a little rude that he didn't exactly apologize for leaving them behind but made a comment about only being human. Because we had to go back to port to pick up those guests, we did not stop to see the flamingos. We just slowly drove by which was disappointing especially since the bus windows were very dirty and we were on the opposite side of the road meaning you could barely see them. The drive to Daaibooi beach was fairly long, around 30 minutes and the scenery on the way was not pretty at all. Once we arrived we had 2 hrs to spend there. Unfortunately the "business" on the beach was not ready. We had to wait for the bathrooms to be opened and when they finally were we had to wait for them to remove the chairs that were stored inside before we could go in. There was only a tiny single stall in the women's which made changing into/out of swimwear difficult. There was no running water at the sink so no washing hands. After wasting 30 minutes waiting for the bathroom we finally made it to the beach. The beach is very small but it wasn't too crowded so that was ok. Getting into the water was difficult as there was a sand bar that dropped down several feet and then a shelf of very sharp uneven rocks which were difficult to walk on. The view out to the ocean was beautiful and we did see some neat fish and several pelicans. There was a lot of broken up coral on the beach which made walking difficult. We had to grab some lunch so went back to the "business" to order food. The wait in line to order and get our food was at least 30 minutes, maybe even 40. The staff was not friendly at all. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers and 1 chicken, paid, and then were informed they had no cheeseburgers. We changed our order to 2 chicken and one hot dog but received 2 hot dogs and 1 chicken. When I told the employee he told me I got what I paid for even though other people in line when we changed our order heard me say 2 chicken one hot dog. There was a price difference and no refund was given. The beach was basically a bust since we spent most of our beach time waiting in line. We left the beach and headed to the caves. Unfortunately, there are nearly 60 steps to climb up to get into the caves. Nowhere in the description is this disclosed. Several people in our group struggled to climb the stairs while one person didn't go at all. The caves themselves were really not that interesting. It was very difficult to hear our tour guide as the groups are large and it's difficult to get everyone close enough in the confined space plus other groups were passing us on their way out of the cave. It was very humid and warm in the caves as well. We did see some bats flying around which was kind of neat. Since you enter and exit the same way, you then have to climb down the nearly 60 steps to leave the caves. Overall we were very disappointed in this tour. Several days later while back on the cruise ship I ran into another guest who was on the same excursion. She asked me what we thought and when I told her she said she felt the same - very disappointed.

Not Highly Recommended and Does Not Communicate Well

Lori_W, Mar 2026
We were picked up in a nice bus but then put in a crammed taxi because they had too many people for the nice bus. We were crammed in and it was difficult to see anything that the guide was telling us. Although he had some nice stories he started with pitics and gas prices. On vacation we don't eantto hear about those stresses. The cave was nice and something different. The cave was last. The schedule was not followed so we had expected to end at Kokomo which is in the write up so we could stay and snorkel more. They tookus to Daaibooi first. You have to pay for chairs as added cost. It was me and my 9 year old. I had to pay adult price for her becsuse it wouldn't allow one adult, one child. You could do two adults, one child but not the single mom and child. Overall the price was not worth it. You can easily take a can or drive to the cave yourself. It is right by the airport. Highly disappointed and didn't need the stress of the politics. Also, I had asked for clarification two days prior re which beach bc they must two. One in the write up and a different one in the itinerary. No one replied. I would have cancelled had they told me the correct order and beach. Daaibooi is pretty but not great for snorkeling. Sea turtles are where the boats and jet skies go so not a great place to see them.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to share detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience felt stressful and didn’t match what you expected, and we’d like to clarify a few points for accuracy. On high-volume cruise days, we may operate the same tour using more than one vehicle so all guests can still be accommodated. This is not an “overbooking” practice—it's a logistics solution to ensure the tour can depart and run as scheduled. All vehicles used are licensed and insured for tourism transport. This tour includes multiple stops (flamingos area, caves, and beach time). The order of stops can change based on real-time conditions such as traffic and congestion at venues. This is done to reduce long waits and protect the overall experience—for example, if the caves have a backlog at a certain hour, adjusting the order avoids guests spending excessive time in line. Regarding the beach: on peak days we may use different beaches depending on crowd levels and operational flow. The beach-time component remains part of the tour. Chair rentals are not included in the tour price and are handled directly by the beach operator. Pricing and age rules for chair rentals are set by the venue, not by Aida Travel Services. We understand your frustration if the venue applied an adult rate for your child, but that charge is outside of the tour booking and outside our control. Flamingos and wildlife expectations Flamingos are seen in their natural habitat, not in a controlled park, so their distance from the viewing point can vary based on weather and human activity. The same applies to turtles—wildlife sightings are never guaranteed because they are not staged or controlled. Guide commentary We’re sorry that the guide’s opening topics didn’t match the vacation tone you were hoping for. Our goal is to keep tours informative, welcoming, and destination-focused, and we appreciate you pointing this out. We regret that your day didn’t feel worth the cost and appreciate the feedback—it helps us improve how we communicate expectations around nature-based stops, third-party beach services, and itinerary sequencing on high-traffic days.

Nice tour guides but can’t recommend it

Robert_B, Mar 2026
The tour guides were nice and the caves a little interesting but that’s about the end of it. I know tourism is the main industry and they do the best with what they have to work with. The beach in particular was grim. Drinks available (primarily alcohol) and prices for available food were extortion. Bathroom facilities were disgusting. It would have been better to find a private place in the woods. I recommend staying away from this one.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Reviewer’s, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you found our guides friendly and that the caves were at least somewhat interesting, but we’re truly sorry that the beach portion left you with such a negative impression. For clarity, the beach stop on this tour is at a public beach venue. While we provide the transportation, guiding, and the scheduled stop, we do not control the day-to-day operation of third-party beach facilities—this includes food and drink pricing, vendor menus (including the balance of alcoholic vs. non-alcoholic options), and restroom cleaning/maintenance, which are handled by the venue operator. On high-traffic days, these areas can also become busier than usual, which can affect cleanliness and the overall atmosphere. That said, we take this feedback seriously because guest comfort matters. We will be raising these concerns directly with the venue management. We appreciate you acknowledging the efforts of our team, and we regret that the beach conditions overshadowed the rest of your experience in Curaçao.

Kimberly_W, Mar 2026
The morning meeting the tour group was a little unorganized and was not sure which group was which. We waited about 40 minutes at the port trying to get everything sorted. Once the tour started Leo was very informative and was a great tour guide.

VALERIE_L, Mar 2026
Leo was an amazing tour guide he was very knowledgeable. He knew very good fun facts about Curacao's history and kept us laughing during the whole day. The Hato caves were so fun to see and interesting to learn about. It's warm in there, so be ready to sweat. My only issue with the tour is we didn't get a chance to get off the bus to see the flamingos, you get to see them for like two seconds as your drive past them. The beach ending was so nice. We got to take pictures on a swing in the beach, we ate good food and we lounged in the sun for about 2 hours. Overall, it was really nice. I would totally recommend as cost effective excursion.

Just…meh.

ashley_d, Mar 2026
Overall, tour was ok. The day started out with a misunderstanding on time (we were on ship time n phones never reset so we thought we were showing up on time but were an hour late. Once we got that straightened out, we were off to the caves. Caves were ok but nothing super cool, kids weren’t that enthused. We were most excited to see flamingos but what isn’t really explained is it’s just a stop on the side of the road and the flamingos are pretty away in this big open pond. That was disappointing. Last stop was the beach. We went to Kokomo beach and it was crowded with only a smaller area for an actual beach. Overall, the entire excursion left us feeling “meh” Decent for the money but overall, the stops weren’t that cool or anything to write home about

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback about the Curaçao Highlights tour (Hato Caves, Flamingos & Beach Time). We’re glad the day was “ok,” but we’re sorry it ultimately left you feeling underwhelmed. On the timing issue, thank you for clarifying what happened. We know that can be confusing, and we appreciate that you were able to get it sorted and still join the tour. Regarding the flamingos, we understand the disappointment. In Curaçao, flamingos are viewed in their natural habitat at the salt flats—this is not a park or enclosure—and their distance from the viewing area can vary depending on conditions and the day. We agree that this isn’t always obvious from a quick read of a listing, and your feedback is helpful in ensuring expectations are clearer. For the beach stop, Kokomo can be busier on peak cruise days, and the usable beach area can feel smaller when visitor volume is high. While we can’t control crowd levels, we do aim to choose stops that balance scenery, facilities, and accessibility for groups. Thank you again for touring with us. We appreciate the feedback—especially when it’s specific—because it helps us improve how we communicate what guests should realistically expect at each stop.

Loved Ittttttt!!!

Kerron_H, Feb 2026
Great tour to gain some knowledge about Curaçao's history. Our tour guide Tianna was very knowledgeable and clear in her delivery, even though she's young she handled it exceptionally well, she's very interactive with the entire bus and took great care of us Trinis. Would recommend to all first timers to Curacao, the caves are gorgeous, I was a bit nervous because I'm not good with enclosed spaces but they have fans installed in thr caves to keep the space nice and cool to prevent you from feeling claustrophobic. If you are very tall there are some spaces where you have to bend to get through, then onto the beach where you get 2 hours to relax and soak on Kokomo beach, the food there is scrumptious, be sure to try the crispy chicken sandwich and the Mai tais, great service all around. The water is lovely and the facilities are well kept. After the beach you get a short drive through the city where Tianna will give you some great information. Our driver was great as well (don't remember his name sorry lol) all in all worth its weight in gold!

The caves are very beautiful!! Definitely worth seeing. The cave guide was a little difficult to understand, but very friendly. The flamingos is a “drive by” 🤣🤣. The beach was breathtaking!! Very beautiful and resturant food was excellent!! This tour was definitely worth it!!

Great Tour

Melanie_S, Feb 2026
Signed up for the Hato Caves, Flamingo and Beach Tour. Our driver and guide was Glen, he was very friendly and did the tour in both English and Spanish. We started out with a tour of Williamstead followed by Hato Caves, stopping briefly at the Flamingos and lastly Kokomo Beach. I would definitely recommend this tour. The only thing I would advise people is that everyone runs on Island time do have patience and give no worries.

Amazing!

Sheri_L, Feb 2026
Our family loved this tour! (2 adults + 11 year old, 7 year old). The cave was really neat to see (with a great & knowledgeable tour guide) and Daaibooi beach was amazing! We got to swim with sea turtles, which was incredible! Definitely would recommend. Unfortunately, we only saw 2 flamingos, but understand that it can’t be helped. Just know that it’s possible to not see many. We were also incredibly thankfully that the tour waited for us as our cruise ship docked a little later than when the tour was supposed to leave. The lady who checked us in was so kind & helpful. Our guide was very nice also.

Beach tour

Victoria_S, Jan 2026
Be prepared to walk up and down steep stairs totally worth it though. We got to visit more than one beach which was also fantastic

Do not book

Rachelle_P, Jan 2026
Do not book this tour unreliable. The guide never showed and we did not receive a refund. I messaged the tour operator when we couldn't find him and never answered. I tried calling, also the port authority person tried calling and no answer. Viator refuses to give me my money back

Response from Host, Jan 2026

We are very sorry to read about your experience and understand how frustrating this must have felt. According to our operations log for that day, the Curacao Beach and Hato Caves Tour did operate as scheduled, with the guide present at the designated meeting point and multiple guests successfully joining the tour. This indicates that our team was on site at the correct time and location as shown on the Viator voucher. The meeting point and our contact number listed on your booking are correct and actively used for all our departures. However, we are a small team and, during boarding and coordination at the port, the staff member handling calls may be physically assisting guests and not always able to pick up immediately at that exact moment. We also rely on guests confirming they are at the exact meeting location and with the correct tour operator name, especially in busy port areas where many companies and guides are present at once. When there is any mismatch in location or operator, it can unfortunately lead to situations like this where we are unable to connect in time. Regarding the refund, Viator applies its own policies based on whether the tour operated and whether a guest was marked as a no-show. As the tour did depart and services were provided to the group, this booking is registered on our side as a no-show rather than a supplier no-show. We regret that your experience with the logistics overshadowed what should have been a pleasant tour day in Curaçao, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective.

Jess_G, Jan 2026
Our tour guide Glen was kindhearted, well informed, and incredibly professional. My husband and I instantly felt comfortable and at ease with him. He was very timely, helpful, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the Hato Caves and Beach Tour. Glen’s knowledge of Willemstad was refreshing and engaging, and he took the time to answer the many questions we had along the way. His insights made us feel as though we were part of the city rather than just visitors. The tour was well organized, enjoyable, and absolutely great value for money. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and are extremely happy we got Glen for this experience. We will definitely be recommending this company to our friends who plan on visiting later in the year.

Nice tour…but the beach portion needs to improve

David_B, Jan 2026
The overall tour was nice and highlighted by the trip to the caves. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. My only gripe with the tour is the beach that we went to was very crowded and they charged for EVERYTHING. And when I say everything I mean it. From the shower to wipe the sand off your feet (coin operated shower head) to the toilet paper for the bathroom. I found that to be very tacky considering what we paid for the tour. I suggest working out a deal with the owners at the beach to include a wrist band and some basic amenities.

Not the tour we were meant to be on

Jeff_M, Oct 2025
We were meant to be on the Haiko Caves tour but when we got on the bus, we were on the shopping and beach tour along with the Jewish heritage tour. Apparently we missed our call when we were close by? Very disappointed, as we could have easily walked from the terminal. Naomi was great and informativ though.. Shame we wasted our only day in Curacao and ended up paying more for a tour we didn't really want.

The cave and beach tour was excellent! Transportation was smooth and convenient—our bus was clean and comfortable, and pickup was right on time. Our tour guide did an outstanding job sharing information about the island, making the tour both fun and very informative. Exploring the caves was such a unique experience, and having leisure time at the beach afterward was the perfect way to end the day. Overall, a well-organized and enjoyable tour that I would highly recommend!
