Mother Nature and our guides cooperated in delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Truly unbelievable! A calm and clear night with an extraordinary display of northern lights or aurora borealis. The team were kind, professional and fully engaged - they were as excited by what we witnessed as we were. We enjoyed the cabin, refreshments, the fire and especially the dancing sky. They also dropped us off at our respective hotels on return to Whitehorse. A 10/10 rating does not do the evening justice! Thank you!

Absolutely excellent!!!! Our tour guides, Maya and Sonya were superb, helpful, multilingual, and very knowledgeable. The operation is very professionally run and they know how to keep their customers comfortable in the cold while getting the best photos of the aurora.

Despite not sighting the aurora, our guides Maria and Mariko were friendly and kept us warm throughout the night.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. While the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings can never be guaranteed, we’re glad to hear that Maria and Mariko made the evening comfortable and welcoming for you. Keeping our guests warm, informed, and well cared for is very important to us, especially on late-night tours. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again for another experience in the future.

Great way to see the lights away from the city hustle & bustle

Mark_J, Jan 2026
We very much enjoyed this tour. The guide (I forget her name, but she was from Germany) was excellent and super helpful, consistently advising us when the lights were making an appearance (as we largely huddled inside due to the cold). There was ample hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. and snacks, in multiple buildings. We were fortunate that the sky cleared after a very snowy day. Definitely recommend!

Response from Host, Jan 2026

Thank you for joining our aurora viewing tour. We are happy to hear you had a great time at the exclusive AuroraCentre.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed the tour with us to see the Aurora Borealis. Our guides get as exited as our guest when seeing the sky dance with the Northern Lights. We love sharing those special moments. 🫶

Disappointing tour to see Northern Lights Whitehorse

Karen_Y, Aug 2025
Our tour guide was very difficult to understand. Her Japanese accent was particularly strong. Although she was reasonable passionate about Northern Lights she lacked the communication skills to engage those on the tour and have any lengthy conversations. The drive out to campsite took 50 minutes and we barely had 10 minutes discussion about what was going to happen or interaction with the guests The fire in the teepee with the marshmallows was good but the tour guide was not there and many of the other travelers did not venture out to it. There was tea, coffee and biscuits available at the main cabin and a slide show of an explanation about the Northern. lights which lasted for about 20 minutes. The viewing platform was good but people kept moving in front of the cabin and the flood lights would continuously come on and off - frustrating when searching for weak Northern Lights as we were on that evening as it is very early in the season. We did not see any Northern Lights that night and packed up and left the campsite about half an hour earlier than originally anticipated for some unknown reason. Absolutely no verbal discussion on the 50minute drive back to Whitehorse from campsite. Personally I think the tour operated should not have offered these tours so early in the season. Cannot recommend this tour with the same tour guide.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear your Aurora viewing tour left you with questions. We we take feedback from our guest to improve our service.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Great way to see the northern lights

Susan_A, Apr 2025
The viewing center and staff were amazing. You have access to a place to warm up, beautiful teepees with a fire inside and lots of options to sit down and take in the light show (if you're lucky... We were, this time)

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Thank you, we are happy to hear you enjoyed our Northern Lights tour at AuroraCentre.

Aurora tour

Carrissa_W, Mar 2025
Sadly didn't see the lights but the viewing area was really nice. Staff is on time and try to provide everything that they can. They also have activities like fire and presentation so even if you don't see the lights there are still things to do. I wish they have both native speaker and non native speaker guide present just because it was hard to understand the guide sometimes.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for joining our aurora viewing tour and we hope to see you again on your next visit to see the Northern Lights.

So fortune

Kyung_W, Feb 2025
Thank you so much for your long-term support so that I can see the Aurora for a long time and enjoy!

Magical Experience - More nights the better

Lupita_C, Feb 2025
We originally booked a viewing for one night but decided last minute to book 2 nights and we are so glad that we did! Morgan and Ishbel were extremely kind, humorous, knowledgeable and make the experience one of a kind. You feel that you’re out with friends and enjoying what nature has to offer. We were lucky enough to witness an incredible sighting the first night - the Aurora is magical. The second night we did not see much activity but enjoyed the hot cocoa, biscuits and a great presentation on bears - something Ishbel is fond of. They were clear with the instructions but the second night was a bit chaotic as a glimpse of the Northern Lights were visible as soon as we got off the bus. All the lights had to be turned off in order to view them and the tour guides headed towards the yurts to set up. Once the sighting was gone, people were wondering what to do - in the tour guides defense, their priority is to ensure we get as many sightings as possible so I understand why there was miscommunication when getting off the bus. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic time and highly recommend this tour!

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Thank you for joining our aurora viewing tours and we are glad to hear you appreciate the effort we put on the aurora viewing experience for our guest.

Must-go tour in Whitehorse!!

Maggie_S, Apr 2024
This is a must-go tour when visiting Whitehorse for watching aurora! The guides are very nice, esp. Eli :) She is very professional & fun & helpful! Worth the price & I’m so lucky to have seen the aurora clearly!

Response from Host, Apr 2024

We are very happy to hear you chose our tour and thank you for your kind words.

Disorganised

Grace_F, Mar 2024
The tour, as nice as the guides were, felt unprofessional, rushed and disorganised. There was very little communication and it just was assumed that we knew where to go on a big property with no lit areas when no instructions were given. We booked for an English guide however the whole slideshow presentation was in Japanese with no translations. Also was little to no guidance setting up cameras to take your own photos like the description mentioned. There’s an option to purchase photos from a QR code that we scanned, however, no one can buy them as there’s a regristration code that you need to access the online shop. I’ve reached out for it too and not heard back so now we’re left with no footage of this experience. Especially since the aurora activity was relatively low, it was disappointing to see that there wasn’t much else to offer on this tour. All in all, it was too expensive for the service provided and staff need to be more diligent in catering to all paying guests.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

We are sorry to hear your experience on our tour was not 100%. Please feel free to reach out to us so we can supply you with the registration code for our online shop. Btw, the registered code is printed on the card with the QR code. 😉

So blessed to see Aurora Borealis on my 60th birthday! Our guide was accomodating! I felt safe during our trip to Aurora Center.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Thank you for joining our tour for your special birthday.

A Bucket List Must

Gerald_S, Dec 2023
It's awesome but all dependent on the weather so pick the evening carefully. We were very fortunate to see what we had seen. The photos were taken by the guides so have many taken and pick that perfect photo which is well worth buying. Tripods were available for time lapse photography to capture the light so bring a real camera if you have one. :earn to take time lapse photos before going. It's very very cold out so make sure you dress for it. Many thanks to Pascal for taking that perfect photo of us.

Response from Host, Jan 2024

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your tour with us.

Very nice evening

Kimberly_A, Nov 2023
There was a lot of cloud cover but fortunately it cleared enough to see the aurora. The guides were all very helpful, friendly, and professional.

Response from Host, Jan 2024

Thank you for joining our tour and we hope to see you again.

Great guides!

Joy_E, Jan 2023
Unfortunately we did not see the lights - BUT the guides were so knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. They had out cookies and hot beverages and we even got to roast marshmellows in the teepees! It was still a wonderful adventure!

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Our tour guides are always happy to share their knowledge about the Arctic region. Thank you for joining our tours.

A Night in the Light

MikeC, Sep 2022
Kei was great On time Helped with cameras We did not see the lights as it was cloudy while we were on site, but just as we got on the highway he spotted the lights, allowing us to get out and made some quick pictures which actually made the trip worthwhile. Hey also took us to the TP where we got some pictures of it and the big dipper and he showed us some of his pictures while we were waiting for the clouds to clear. An overall great experience, thank you.

Response from Host, Sep 2022

It's great to hear you enjoyed your tour with us to see the Northern Lights. Thanks for sharing your great experience.

Disappointment

Jane_B, Aug 2022
Check the forecast and cancel if needed. It rained and too cloudy to see any lights. Can’t help the weather. Guides say come back but it’s expensive outing for warm tea and cookies.

Response from Host, Aug 2022

We are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your Aurora Viewing tour. On very rare occasions the weather doesn't cooperate and the view to the northern lights is limited. But as most of our guest understand, seeing the Aurora borealis is part of a natural phenomenon which is difficult to predict and impossible to guarantee. 😉 During our guided AuroraViewing tours we also provide photo services, story telling, marshmallow roasting over campfires in our teepees and warm woodstoves in yurts and cabins.

An extraordinary experience

Gabriel_F, Feb 2022
Our guide was amazing and friendly. They picked us up in time at the rendezvous point. We had hot beverages and marshmallows in the fireplace. We highly recommend scheduling more than one visit to higher your chance to see the Northern Lights due to weather conditions. We were lucky to have seen the Northern Lights in two days. They appeared only in the last hours of the second day.

Response from Host, Feb 2022

Thank you for sharing your experience on our tours and we happy to hear you enjoyed watching the Aurora Borealis.

Great experience and service

YokeKwan_C, Jan 2022
Shungo and Jessica were great and really took care of us. They helped us with our camera settings and allowed us to capture really great photos of the northern lights. This tour comes with a cabin which had a fireplace and hot beverages to keep us warm. Toilet facilities are also available.

Response from Host, Jan 2022

It's so nice to hear you enjoyed our aurora viewing tour at the AuroraCentre.

No lights seen :(

Natalie_H, Oct 2021
Our tour guide was excellent, unfortunately we couldn’t see the lights due to a cloud but nothing we could do to change that. Still a great experience and friendly staff.

Response from Host, Dec 2021

Jaquetta_T, Apr 2017
Pickup was on time. Shuttle was comfortable. The snacks and drinks provided was very good while waiting for the lights. However, we were unlucky and did not see them. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend because service was great, but should double check aurora forecast and weather prior to the night.

The best, very organized, staff are very courteous and helpful. Thank you for a memorable new year celebration

The first night was well organized...

ELIZABETH P, Dec 2016
The first night was well organized and enjoyable with good guide, even though skies were cloudy and did not see aurora either night. Second night guide was disorganized and 30 min late picking us up required 2 calls to the office and spent most of time talking to another group and was not very knowledgeable.

Súper!!

FLORDELIZ_D, Mar 2024

Response from Host, Mar 2024
