A wonderful day travelling along the beach and into the Sandwich Harbour and dunes, with great guide. For those arriving by cruise ship, the guide, Uwe, met us harborside.
We drove out of Walvis Bay stopping to see flamingos, pelicans and the salt lakes. We continued along the beach and up into the sand dunes, stopping at a number of incredible viewpoints. Along the beach we saw lots of cormorants and seals. In the dunes, Uwe pointed out the tracks of hyenas. He suggested we take off our shoes to enjoy the feeling of sand between our toes. He dropped us off at the top of the dunes and we climbed/slid down barefoot. We stopped for drinks and lunch, a selection of meats, samosas, cheese with cake and sweet deserts, very enjoyable. On our return route, we drove through the bush where we saw Oryx and Springboks. Returning to Walvis Bay, we stopped again the see the pelicans and flamingos and also saw a jackal wandering along the beach, searching for mussels etc.
Uwe was very knowledgeable and we had a great day out with him.

We were greeted by our tour guide, Winton, who was holding up a clear sign just a few paces from where we disembarked from the cruise ship - actually 30 mins early. The vehicle was a very safe comfortable and modern 4 x 4 Toyota. Winton proved to be a safe, experienced and highly skilled driver. He was very friendly and highly informative, about the country generally as well as about the history, geography, flora and fauna of the area. The tour lasted 7 hours and was worth every penny (as well as being considerably less expensive than very similar tours being touted on board by Cunard). We saw lots of birdlife including pelicans, flamingos, large flocks of cormorants, sandpipers, terns and other species. We saw many seals in the sea and on the beach as well as Oryx, Springboks and jackals in the national park. The ride along the beach and over the dunes in the national park was exhilarating and the many different views were spectacular, not least the views over Sandwich Bay harbour. There were frequent stops all day for taking in the scenery and many opportunities for photos. The light lunch and drinks provided, set up at a viewpoint in the dunes was excellent. We were returned to the ship with plenty of time before departure. The tour was conducted with 2 other 4x4 vehicles from the same company, so there was always back-up should any problems arise. In short we highly recommend this tour and the company also known as Desert Tours and Dust Tours.

I have serious issues with the company. I had originally booked a full day tour Sandwich Harbour tour on December 23. On the morning of December 25, I was notified that I was the only person on the tour, so they asked if they could change the booking to a half day with a pick up at 7:30am in December 26. I agreed but also asked if I could get the half day price. This was on WhatsApp, and I simply got a 👍 reaction. There was no clear indication of whether they would do this. On December 26, I waited for the driver who did not show. I contacted the company at 7:40am, and they said they had gotten some other passengers, so the pickup would be at 9am. They said they had sent me a message via Viator, but I never received anything. I also checked email and WhatsApp but nothing.
At the time, I was led to believe that the full day tour was back on.
The driver showed up 45 minutes late at 9:45am with three other passengers. One other passenger had also booked a full day tour, and the other couple had booked a half day tour. The full day tour was advertised as 7 hours. However, the tour effectively ended at 12:45pm for a total of around 3 hours. This is 4 hours shorter than the advertised service. Upon arrival back at the hotel, I told the driver that I was supposed to be on the full day tour. Another client also said she had paid for the full day tour as well. The driver was not aware of this, and he said to take it up with the office.
I am very angry about this since there was serious lack of communication and organization, and I have requested a full refund since the driver was nearly an hour late, I was charged the full day price instead of the half day, and there was serious lack of communication between the office, driver, and myself about exactly what was going to be provided. I am also strongly considering complaining to the Namibia Tourism Board about this company because I genuinely feel that this company cheated me out of my money and misrepresented the actual product.

A really good day out. Gerhard was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great drive to and over the dunes. We saw pelicans, flamingos, seals, black backed jackal and springbok. We also saw the red salt lakes. Having lunch in the dunes was really special. I would definitely recommend this trip, it was good value for money.

Excellent tour, our guide Andrew was extremely knowledgeable and patient. We were able to see more than we expected, by far one of the best trips we have ever done. This is by far one of my favorite excursion I’ve ever done. I have traveled extensively around the world, and this was amazing. Our tour guide was absolutely fabulous fun interesting full of great information top-notch! ...the tour is a highlight, Uwe is unique, and in this combination an exceptionally great experience. It started with the words: I try to bring you back at the end of the day with sand in my shoes and great impressions for the memory...yes exactly the same it was... sun, blue sky, great desert, flamingos, dune rides, delicious picnic, gamedrive, photostops, Uwe with its great open nature, at the end still fog in the dunes, certainly after many things in 85 countries we did in the top 5 of our experiences.
