Really interesting and informative tour! Tasted some really delicious honey at the end as well, some types of honey I had never had before which was cool

A quick rattle round the site with a tasting afterwards. We didn’t stay for lunch and couldn’t use the credit in the shop. If you have done everything else in Valladolid then come here too because the guide was pleasant, but it’s not been a highlight of my holiday

This experience was delightful and educational. Highly recommend this tour of the bees in a dry cenote.

What a neat and informative tour. The grounds of the park are lovely and our guide was great, explaining and showing us the different types of melipona and their nest structures. The honey tasting was a lot of fun and the lunch was delicious! Thank you so much.

Fun and educational experience on the way back to Tulum from Chichén Itzá. I recommend this tour, especially for families with kids, BUT I did not give them 5 stars because the bilingual tour was imbalanced. The tour guide provided much more information for Spanish speakers and less for English speakers (I understand both, but my family members do not). My suggestion to the tour guide is to switch languages more often throughout the speech so that all the guests stay engaged and receive the same amount of information. Those who are monolingual got bored when he was speaking the other language exclusively for 10 minutes.

The tour was very educational. We learned about the different types of bees which live in the surrounding area and the roles they play in the local ecosystem.
We got to see inside some of the hives opened up which was very interesting and then trying some of the honey products afterwards was enjoyable.

Loved not only how informative it was, but how much the Mayan community has always been so connected to the natural world

The restaurant and washrooms are very clean.

Very interesting and authentic experience. The tour and tasting took about 1.5 hours which was perfect. We booked the package that included lunch and the food was excellent. Overall great experience and amazing value for money.

Very informative tour of a bee habitat and production area. Learn about Mayan importance of bees and the special non stinging bees, taste different honeys and tasty and healing honey products.

It was great. If you're a beekeeper or generally interested in seeing something deeper and the local community, this is great. The lunch was excellent as well. Honestly, I can't imagine anything more interesting in Valladolid.

This was a very cool and interesting tour. We learned a lot about the local bees. Eduardo was very informative and a fun guide. As a beekeeper in California, I was excited for this tour and it did not disappoint. We loved the whole experience and highly recommend.

Amazing tour! Really cool to learn the culture and history behind bees in Mayan civilization as well as taste different honeys and try food native to Valladolid. Had a phenomenal time, and would love to come back!

Wonderful experience and package! Our tour guide was very informative and nice. We would highly recommend this tour. We learned a lot about the Mayan Bees and had a lovely lunch. We bought the moisturizing cream which we are in love with.

This was a nice, casual tour, with some good information being shared about the history of bees in the area, etc.

Very informative tour. You get to know the habits of local bees, compare them with European bees and taste their products (honey, propolis and others). We had a quick snack with some homemade tortillas and a filling lunch in the restaurant of the area. The quality of the food is not exceptional, but it's definitely worth the price of the whole tour. It's nice to support local businesses like this one.

The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The story of the stingless bees of the region was fascinating.

This is a unique tour, for those looking for something off the beaten path! It is a bee farm, and also a natural park. You will visit a dry cenote, where there are natural hives of several different species of Mayan bees. And then you will visit their own "farm" at the back, where you can get up to the hives and the bees up close.
Scared of bees? Don't be - the Mayan bees are stingless, and tiny. So there is nothing to be afraid. Caveat - there are (invasive) wild European bees in the Yucatan peninsula, and of course in the immediate area of the bee farm too. There are some in the dry cenote you will visit. So you might get stung. But you might also get stung in other parts of Valladolid, Yucatan, etc.
The guide is enthusiastic and good at explaining. His English is good enough for the tour that all the information is conveyed.
There is also a honey tasting part of the tour - to try the Mayan bee honey and pollen and other products. As well as a small snack of freshly made tacos. And also a lunch included with this tour, in the restaurant attached to the hotel that is on the same site. We didn't have time to eat the lunch, so can't comment on it.
Parking is free, and there is a gift shop on-site.
The one thing I have to mention is that there are many, many mosquitos here. Try to wear long pants and sleeves, and bring very good mosquito repellent. It is, after all, situated in a wild area (even though it is just 5 mins drive from downtown Valladolid) for the bees to go and pollinate and gather honey.
Overall, definitely worth a visit, to do something different than just the ancient ruins and wet cenotes!

Tasting the different types of honey. Learning about the different types of cenotes and the lunch was delicious.

We had a wonderful tour with Joel! The honey tasting was great, and we especially loved the fresh tortillas and salsa. It was very interesting hiking through nature and learning all about different types of bees.

This is indeed a hidden gem. Beautiful location, with an informative tour, lunch included with the honey tasting and some sweets from the guide. Really unique experience that also helps with ecosystem preservation while learning about history and current cultivation practices.

We went on the first tour of the day at 8.30 a.m. when the temperature was still fine. The guide was very knowledgeable and the whole place well organized. Due to add that we are both biologists and very interested about native bees and the nature overall. The gl guide was using tablet with great visualization help. At the end was a brief tasting of a few types of honey. After the tour which lasted just about an hour we had a delicious breakfast in a restaurant on the same property which was part of our package. We are very happy with the visit and can highly recommend Xkopek park to visitors of Valladolid.

Great tour? I loved it! The area is nice and green, jungle like😊 the guide was very, very knowledgeable!!
Teresa_G, Mar 2023
Very informative guide. He spoke good English and was friendly. It was great to visit a place that was dedicated to helping our environment. In addition to the bees we saw a Motmot, one of my favorite birds! We loved the honey tasting but breakfast was not included which puzzled me because the ticket said breakfast or lunch was included. Just the same, we were not disappointed.
Jessica_N, Nov 2022
Our guide was excellent, he spoke wonderful English and was very informative. The honey tasting was great and we learned a lot! Would recommend to anyone. A hidden gem in valladolid
Susan_R, Jul 2022
We loved this experience! Our guide was so knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. We learned about the different kinds of native bees and observed several different hives. We sampled 9 different bee products and then enjoyed a delicious lunch. We would highly recommend this to all visitors to Valladolid!
Abby_G, May 2022
We loved our experience here! It was fascinating to learn more about the natural bee populations and while we were in the cenote seeing the hives, the our guide had a iPad with videos and instructional videos. The tasting was also great!
