This was a fun way to get out onto the streets and see the rice terraces. The guides were excellent, friendly and always made sure we stuck together, stopping the traffic for us. They shared knowledge of the Balinese culture which was super interesting. The bikes were in good condition and the seats had a gel pad so were extra comfy. After the tour we were taken to a nearby warung/ restaurant and served a tasty lunch. By far one of the highlights of our trip to Ubud. To add we are experienced bikers if you are nervous on busy roads this may not be ideal for you.

Great Tour

Kay_M, Mar 2026
What a great day we had! We really enjoyed our tour which ended up being a private tour. The guides both made us feel very safe while riding on the open rode. I highly recommend this tour.

There are many e-bike operators in Bali, but choosing a reputable one is important because you’ll be biking through heavy, often intimidating traffic with many motorcycles, cars, and pedestrians. eBikes Bali is an excellent tour operator for biking in Ubud. Our four-hour tour with a group of four had two guides, Wid and Hari. They were exceptional at taking care of us and ensuring our safety. Wid led from the front to direct passing traffic, while Hari stayed behind to make sure no one was left behind; occasionally, Hari would speed ahead to stop traffic at busy intersections so we could pass. He also sped up to scenic spots to take our pictures as we biked past. Both guides were professional, friendly, and informative. The e-bikes were in good condition—powerful without feeling dangerous—allowing us to either pedal or let the motor do the work. The route was beautiful and well-organized. We biked along roads to see local houses, rice fields, a water purification site, and the Tirta Empul Temple. We also visited a local Balinese family compound and enjoyed a traditional Balinese lunch. I strongly recommend eBikes Bali for anyone looking for a tour in Ubud.

Good tour

We had a great time taking this electric bicycle tour. We enjoyed the whole experience and liked all the stops but specially the stop at the coffee place where our guide explained all the things they do there to make coffee and teas. A word of caution...the tour is through less crowded city streets/hills and have to ride around cars and motorcycles. The guides do take care of you as they know well how to navigate through them.

Fun cycle with a great company

Neil_J, Oct 2025
Brilliant fun cycling through Ubud. As strenuous or easy as you want. Guides were fun and informative. Interesting stops and all 6 in our group agreed we would highly recommend. Thanks

Nice afternoon

Diana_G, Aug 2025
We really enjoyed our ride and our hides were amazing (Saur and Anelia). Be aware, however, that a good portion of the ride is on a busy road, and the actual ride through the rice terraces is bumpy and narrow.

It was great, easy with e-bikes and very pleasant. Lot of explication given by the guide, and wonderful landscapes.

This Tour is not Safe: I Cannot Recommend This Tour!

Tonya_R, Jul 2025
I booked this Tour solo because I assumed I'd participate in the cycling with other tourists. However, the car ride from my hotel was long. When we arrived at the departure location, the group was already departing on their eBikes. I was therefore assigned a very good Tour Guide, but I was riding solo (with the Guide, but no group). Secondly, the advertisements are misleading! A lot of city street cycling takes place en route to the rice paddies. Traffic in Bali is intense. I did not feel safe eBiking on the busy city streets AT ALL, and there was NO WARNING that the tour required cycling on city streets! All of the photos show cycling on paved roads in the rice paddies. The city street cycling unnerved me so much that I crashed into a bush! Fortunately, I was not hurt, and the Tour Guide was supportive and called the company Van to retrieve us. I walked the rice paddies (rather than cycling, since I was still nervous from the crash and city-street cycling), which was lovely. Walking the rice paddies was my favorite part of the Tour! When we reached the Coffee Plantation, it was decided that I should join the group of cyclists who'd left the starting location when I arrived. I was therefore able to interact with others at the Coffee Plantation, which was nice, and what I'd expected when I booked the tour. However, the group departed the Coffee Plantation before me en route to the restaurant. When I arrived, they were already seated at a separate table, which left me to dine alone. I therefore requested 'Take Away' for my dinner, and departed for my hotel with the Driver. The car ride back to my hotel was horrendous, taking 90 minutes! Had I realized the departure location was far away, I would have booked a different Tour, since there a numerous Tour Booking Companies that are closer to my hotel. I assumed that Viator was reliable because I've previously booked Day Tours at home and while traveling abroad. Also, the car Driver was nice, but he barely spoke English. The Tour Guide was very good. I tipped them both because they worked hard, and the rice paddies and coffee plantation were nice, but the eBiking on city streets without advanced warning was a terrible idea! Again, I did not feel safe. I would not book this tour again, nor would I recommend it to those who are not very skilled cyclists. Trekking through Bali city streets on a bicycle is not a safe activity for tourists.

Fun and a little challenging

Jacquie, Jun 2025
Staff very friendly and helpful. There was more cycling on the road and in traffic than I expected so that was a little daunting trying to concentrate on biking and be road aware and steer clear of obstacles

Great fun

Kerry_H, Jun 2025
Really great experience, started with being picked up on time from our hotel, all safety forms and menu choices completed, then trying the bikes for size. All the correct safety gear was provided. Off on our ride through rice fields, stopping for cultural updates from our guides, and visiting a coffee plantation. Really well organised and fabulous team supporting us. Felt totally safe even on the very busy Bali roads. Would definitely recommend

Outdoors, Culture and Countryside

Linda_P, May 2025
If you can ride a bike this is a great fun activity. The ebikes make it a breeze. Put in as much or as little effort and you want. The guides are very knowledgeable of the culture and agriculture practices. Delicious lunch too!

Highlight of Ubud for us

A perfect first day introduction to Ubud

Vicki_S, Mar 2025
This was a fun introduction to Ubud. We visited a temple, a typical Bali household compound, a community center, had lunch and a big swing way above rice fields, and rode our ebikes through rice fields. We had a guide in front and back of our little group and traffic was stopped to allow us to cross roads with safety and ease. This was a great first day excursion to stretch our legs and learn about Bali.

For people who wanna see as much as they can and not a stuffy bus with a smell!

Kerry_H, Mar 2025
Great way to see all the sites combined while riding a bike! Also to a guy very nice and informative if you get rashes easy bring some cream

This was by far one of my favourite tours, such a fun way to get out and explore Ubud and see the rice fields. Coffee tasting was a nice touch. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and were happy to answer any questions.

Great way to experience the Rice fields of Bali

This bike tour was very fun and informative. Our guides were kind and shared a lot of information about the local culture. We visited the rice fields, the rice terrace, a temple and a lowak coffee production, and ended the tour at a restaurant for lunch. Highly recommend!

Electric cycling tour outside Ubud a 5-star experience

Tom_S, Oct 2024
It always starts with the people and the cycle tour team escorting us around the villages, temples, and rice fields were amazing. We were given clear instructions on how to use the elecrical bicycle (combined with normal pedalling). We got a helmet and a bottle of water. Then off with guides in front and the back. A lot of the tour is away from the main roads.

100% Recommend, would do it again

Aaron_G, Sep 2024
Loved it. The team are amazing; so well organised and accommodating. Never ridden an e-bike but it was easy to pick up and made the trip much easier. Our guides, Gusti and Putu, were fabulous and ensured we were safe. Probably the highlight of our visit to Bali.

Fun and beautiful jungle across rice terraces

Carlos_A, Sep 2024
Fantastic experience! Anilya is a great guide! Fun, fast and careful! We enjoyed a lot, biking through rice terraces!! Highly recommend it!!

Good ride if you’re competent on a bike

Graham_B, Sep 2024
I thoroughly enjoyed the bike ride. The guides were excellent, keeping the group together and assuring everyone’s safety when negotiating intersections. Riders need to be fairly competent to ride on the roads with other traffic and especially so when riding on narrow unsaved paths between rice paddies. All up, it was a great experience

Great views

Beyza_O, Sep 2024
We loved the tour. The ebikes were very easy to use and necessary during a couple parcours. We were only with the two of us. The tour guides gave a lot of information and showed us beautiful paths. They gave us an option to take the more advanced route. This was a bit tricky but doable. We did the bikeride on our 2nd day which gave us a great impression of Ubud. Thank you for the great experience!

Relaxing and informative

Steve_C, Aug 2024
A great half day away from the bustle of Ubud traffic , the e bikes made for a very cruisy ride . Beautiful views as we ride through the rice terraces. The guides were informative and friendly

Great day out just not from Nusa Dua

LeaderSHAPE_C, Jul 2024
The ride experience was great, we all enjoyed it. We were staying in Nusa Dua and the nearly 6 hours round trip diminished the overall experience.

Beautiful ride to the countryside

Evelyn_R, May 2024
We had a great afternoon riding through the Rice fields and countryside- so beautiful! There was a bit of riding on the street, but we had two awesome guides Wid and Gina who helped us navigate through the traffic. The guides also shared more about country and local traditions. Super peaceful way to see parts of this beautiful country. highly recommend!

Great way to learn from a local and see Ubud! Highly recommended!

Nora_L, Apr 2024
The e-bike tour in Ubud, Bali, was an unforgettable experience. Riding through picturesque rice fields was serene, and our guide's passion for Balinese culture enhanced the journey. Visiting the old temple and coffee plantation added cultural depth, while the stop at the UNESCO site provided stunning views of rice terraces was a must see. Riding along the rugged roads of Ubud on e-bikes was exhilarating. Overall, a perfect blend of adventure, culture, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for an enriching Bali experience. (Shout out to our guides on April 8, 2024 at 9:00am)!

Great tour, beautiful scenery, but don’t choose coffee option!

Ben_W, Mar 2024
I’m a solo traveller and went on the afternoon tour - was surprised to be the only one on it so it ended up being a private tour! Ketuk did an awesome job, very knowledgeable, friendly and overall great guide. Firstly I’d like to say - please don’t choose to visit the coffee plantation. The living conditions of the poor Civets is terrible, very tiny cages for wild animals. Kopi Luak is known for bad welfare and this place is no exception. The plantation itself is also very poorly maintained and more of a tourist trap than anything. They strongly encourage you to buy their coffee. I wish I chose to see the traditional house! The rest of the tour is great, absolutely stunning rice fields, great info, and an excellent way to see some of Ubud’s countryside. The meal at the end is very good too at a local restaurant/cafe and a range of options. The bikes themselves are very easy to ride, and they’ll move under their own power without any need to pedal if you just want a chilled experience. Some technical skill required navigating some of the rice field paths (they’re a bit narrow), but most moderately experienced riders will be fine. Overall, recommend - just avoid the Kopi Luak!

Nice Glimpse Into Balinese Life

Athena_G, Mar 2024
The bikes were easy to master and there were two guides as well as a trailing vehicle in case you get tired or any other unforeseen event. We biked to a temple, the rice fields, had a break by some very picturesque terraces, then were given the choice of a traditional Balinese House or a coffee plantation. At the end we were treated to dinner. The guides were super friendly and helpful. We had a great time 10 out of 10 would do again.

Great half day tour!

Jonathan_C, Feb 2024
We thoroughly enjoyed the e-bike tour. I did not realize we would be riding on actual roads with cars, but that provided a glimpse of what it is like to commute as a local. Gusti and Gina was our guides. My wife has not ridden a bike in a long time, so it took some time before she got used to it again. Our first stop was a temple. Learned about how the older Balinese deal with death and how they celebrate life at the temple. Visiting the rice paddies and seeing the locals farm. Riding to a local swing was a highlight for my wife. Learning about the culture and values through our guide was very insightful. Our last stop was a coffee farm where we sampled Luwak and various teas. All were good. Our final stop was a local restaurant which we ate a good lunch, saw a traditional house. All in all, we loved our tour and would recommend it to anyone looking to explore where cars cannot. Thank you.

Best part of our stay in Ubud - ideal for families with tweens/teens

Emma_M, Dec 2023
On one of our first days in Ubud we went on the eBike tour. Our guide was wonderful, very knowledgeable and excellent English. it was nice to escape the very busy streets of Ubud and cycle around the outskirts. We felt very safe - even our just turned 12 year old who is a nervous bike rider - as the guides took us on quieter roads. The rice fields were majestic and the highlight of the tour. Beautiful and great for photos. Very easy to operate the bikes. eBikes were a must with the humidity and heat and terrain. Don't hesitate - book now!

Go where cars can't!

Lara_L, Dec 2023
My tour guide was great! He made sure to provide explanation for the things we were seeing: rice being produced, offerings being brought to the temple, and a typical family compound. Also, I felt safe with him and appreciated the planned breaks.
