Wonderful day in Bali!

Monkey forest and rice terrace was great! Completely worthwhile to see. Palace was nothing special and could have been missed. Our driver Mera shared so many interesting details about the sights along the way which truly added to our experience!

Monkey forest was great! Take a selfie with the monkeys, it’s was the best part! Rice terrace was amazing but the Palace was just ho-hum. Our driver Wena was very nice and attentive but we were disappointed that he wasn’t a “guide” so we didn’t get any insights into the local culture or sights that we passed along the way.

Our guide was very professional and respectful. Always on time and his car was very clean. Monkey forest and rice terrace were great. The Palace is not worth the visit and art market is good if you want to do some shopping.

Great Half Day Tour of Ubud Sites

Great half day tour if you are looking for something shorter (I still left the hotel at 9am and got back around 3pm but it’s not a full day out). My driver Irwan was extremely friendly and taught me a lot about Balinese culture during the drive, which was wonderful. The monkey forest was fun and he guided me through and then dropped me off at Ubud Palace and the art market and asked how much time I wanted to spend and then he would pick me up after. It was nice having some free time to walk around. Our final stop were the rice terraces which were cool but honestly a a bit ruined with the tourism and all the zip lines and swings but still a very cool place to see and I assume the entrance fee goes to the local community. Overall it was a great tour to do as a solo traveler or even in a small group. Lunch and drinks are not included so I’d suggest bringing water and snacks and if you’re really hungry grabbing some food in Ubud when you’re there.
