Overview

This full-day excursion to the Ayung River and Ubud offers adventure and culture in equal measure. Ideal for families, this tour includes white-water rafting on the Ayung River and a visit to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Under the guidance of your instructor, you’ll paddle for a few hours past lush jungle scenery and dramatic cliffs. See, too, the wild macaques of the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, and explore Ubud Market and Ubud King Palace. Lunch, hotel pickup, and drop-off are included.

Itinerary

Begin your experience with pickup at your Denpasar hotel, where you’ll board an air-conditioned minivan destined for a rafting point beside the Ayung River. During the journey, you’ll stop at the villages of Tohpati and Celuk, renowned for their production of artisan crafts.

At the rafting meeting point, listen to a safety briefing before boarding your inflatable raft and conquering the rapids of the Ayung River. Under the instruction of your guide, you’ll paddle past undulating green hills, rugged cliffs and jungles abundant with exotic flora.

Following rafting, you’ll revitalize with lunch before visiting the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud, home to sacred temples and countless grey macaques. Before entering the forest, familiarize yourself with the rules and regulations: the monkeys are wild and therefore prone to unpredictable behavior.

Next, spend some leisure time exploring Ubud Market — replete with souvenirs and artisan treasures — and then marvel at the architecture of Ubud King Palace.

Your tour concludes with drop-off at your Denpasar hotel, after you’ve stopped to capture the beauty of the Tegenungan waterfall.

Through tour of Ubud. Guide was helpful and professional - helped us identify additional sites to see during our stay. Traffic is tough so expect your tour time to vary. The guide cannot control this but ours did his best to help us manage it.

I remember a young man being overwhelmed with all steps going down to the river, to be blunt he was sick, maybe it was the curry from the night before but there's an awful lot of steps down and up so beware fool,,,,,

My husband and I loved this experience. We had a fantastic day that we will never forget. Our driver, Lewer, was amazing. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and we would definitely use his services. The white water rafting was, by far, the highlight of our Bali trip. It was beautiful and serene, but also had a good level of excitement and fun. Our guide on the boat was super friendly, hilarious and very entertaining. He was making us all laugh the entire time and really helped build a positive and energetic vibe amongst the group. The buffet lunch following the rafting was delicious. It was traditional dishes that were full of flavour. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone going to Bali. We loved it.

Tired, memorable and fun

I never expected the rafting to be almost 1:5hrs lol. Really worth it. I seen some others who started half way of my route. It was fun. My guide winata was really friendly and made us at ease. We skipped the waterfall in the end cause we are too tired and wanted just a place to lounge and have coffee and he even offered if need he can wait and drive us back later.

Picked up on time from our hotel and spent a few hours rafting the Ayung, great fun, followed by lunch Ubud markets, Monkey Forrest etc. Hendra ,our own personal very friendly Balinese guide was helpful in every way. Recommended as a quick fun taste of Bali.

Guider is very nice, polite, good smile and helpful.

Doing rafting in this river is wonderful! The nature is amazing! The organisation excellent! The driver picked us up from our hotel and he took us back, he was very polite. The only thing i did not like was the lunch. For the rest, highly recommended!

The staff were incredibly friendly and hilarious, making the experience even more fun! The walk down to the river was pretty long but wasn't too bad as it's all downhill. The water rafting itself was fairly easy and can be done by all ages. You will most certainly get wet! I would definitely recommend to bring a GoPro or waterproof camera of some sort as the views on the river are beautiful, but also to capture the fun you're having whilst water rafting. The staff will even help to take pictures for you if you provide them with your waterproof camera. Will 100 do it all again!

This tour was fantastic fun and excellent value for money compared to other tours! The rafting is absolutely fantastic and the guides in the boat very friendly and very experienced. The tour seems to start higher up the river than most of the other rafting trips and deffo more white water!!
