Spectacular scenery, beautiful driver, but be careful with the ATVs

We had a fun day. Our driver Darma looked after us really well. The rice terraces and swing up past Ubud were spectacular - I’m so glad we got to see these. For the ATV portion of the day, I warn other travellers to go into this with eyes open. While the scenery was amazing, the driving was hard physical work, and very scary at times with steep muddy slopes upward and downward. The vehicles weren’t in great condition - we had to abandon ours for a different one part way through, and our guide also had to abandon his. We had a substantial fall off our vehicle, leaving me with a massive bruise and this fall could have been much worse - I’m unclear what the insurance circumstances were if the injury had been worse. This activity could be a lot of fun for thrillseekers, I just recommend you go in with your eyes open and weigh up the risks for yourself.
