The meeting point is at Pasar Sidemen (Sidemen Traditional Market), located on the main street. Please look for the shop with the sign “Upa Boga”. Once you arrive, our guide will come to meet you there.

Pick-up After the Trek: We recommend arranging your transport in advance so your journey home is smooth and easy. If you have a driver, kindly ask them to pick you up at the finish point around 2-2.5 hours after the trek starts. While Grab is available, there are only a few drivers in the area.

- Start Point: Meeting point is at Pasar Sidemen (Sidemen Traditional Market), exactly at the shop with the sign "Upa Boga".
- Getting to the Start Point: If you’re staying in Sidemen, please arrange transport through your hotel. We do not recommend using Grab, as some Hotels in Sidemen do not allow Grab drivers to pick up the guest from hotel (drop-off only).
- Finish Point: The trek ends at Warung Ume Anyar Restaurant,located in Ogang Village–a recommended Great spot to relax and have a drink or meal after trekking
- Pick-up After the Trek: We recommend arranging your transport in advance so your journey home is smooth and easy. If you have a driver, kindly ask them to pick you up at the finish point around 2-2.5 hours after the trekk started. While Grab is available, there are only a few drivers in the area, and some may request offline payment or extra payment. Having a driver arranged beforehand will help you avoid any waiting time after the trek. Duration: approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Please allow sufficient time if you have other plans after the activity.
- Optional Market Visit: Pasar Sidemen (traditional market) is open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM. If you’d like to explore the market before trekking, we recommend booking a morning session
- Walking Back (Optional): If needed, you can walk back to the start point – it’s around 3 km or 30–40 minutes along the main road.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 10 travelers

Lovely walk through the rice fields of Sidemen. Beautiful authentic rural bali scenery. You don't get this sort of experience sitting around Kuta, Legian, Semenyak. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Walking was not taxing but you have to watch your step when navigating the rice fields. Make sure you stop and look up regularly to take in the scenery, or all you'll remember is the narrow pathway in front of you.
Be aware the trek end point is some 3 km from the start point with no arrangement to get you back. If you have a driver get them to meet you at the end point or use the Grab app to order a ride.

it was an amazing experience and our guide was extremely knowledgeable. In December some of the rice crops have been harvested, and knew all about the other crops being planted and how they were used in local cuisine. Beautiful experience.

The tour was fun and informative. We learned a lot about the negative changes in Bali. It is truly awful that Bali is degenerating into a pub and that everyone is after the big money. Anyone looking for a hike is in the wrong place; it is an easy walk with many stops for photos. So, it’s neither trekking nor hiking.

I enjoyed my Sideman walking tour very much through the Sideman rice fields and village. For those considering this experience, note that much of the walk through the rice fields is on an elevated and sometimes narrow path that at times is eroded on the sides. The trek was easy and flat, but If balance is difficult for you then you may want to reconsider this option.

Walking thru the rice paddies with Adidas is a cool experience. He explains a lot, talks with experience and his heart. He’s also funny and makes jokes. It was a real pleasure to do this almost 4 km walk and 2h with him.

The trek offers a completely different perspective to Sideman. You can learn so much about the town, its people, how rice is grown and how it is an essential part of everyday life. In the meantime, you will get unique views of the rice fields and the overreaching Mount Agung that you couldn't see otherwise. Our guide Adi was so funny and relaxed.

Our guide was very nice, he explained a lot on local farming, local community, religious beliefs and traditions... a real trip into rural Bali, much more authentic than anything else we did. He showed us the rice fields, the flowers for the offerings, the local spiders that are ginormous!!! The tour is an easy walk along the irrigation of the fields. He even helped us find a taxi at the end. Really good, thank you!

We met at our guide at the local market in Sidemen. They provided us great directions to that meeting point. We began our trek promptly at the appointed time. It was a BEAUTIFUL trek with our guide providing us details of Bali Hindu, the rice farming process and the volcano near by.

Our guide was really nice and could tell a lot about everything we saw. He knows everyone we passed by in the rice fields and the rest of the town, which makes the trekking extra fun! He guided us through little paths in the fields we wouldn’t have found without him. We were involved in his storytelling and he was also interested in our culture, which made the whole experience very interactive. So, great tour that we highly recommend when visiting Sidemen!

We booked a rice field trek because we wanted a local guide who knew the best routes and spots to see the fields. Daria was really nice and we learnt a lot about the local farming culture and how it has changed over the years. Definitely recommend this tour if you are in the area!

Great guide, he speaks english very well. He answered on all our questions. The tour is easy with lot of nice views. Need to be careful where you walk because some parts can ne slippery... We recommend!

If you want to gain some insight into
How local Sideman people live then this is the tour for you. Our guide Daria lives in one of the 8 villages that make up the sideman area and takes you on a walk through the market and local farming area. Along the way you will learn about Balinese culture and religion which are entwined in everyday life. The walk is not for the elderly unless you are quite fit and agile - not because of energy levels and steepness but you need good balance to walk along very narrow rice paddy terraces and waterways. Daria was very knowledgable, we had lots of questions and he very accommodating. Highly recommend to broaden your knowledge and get a taste of Balinese culture.

Awesome time. Darya was an incredible tour guide, super knowledgeable about the local area and knew everyone in the village. He took us through super hidden paths through the farms and forest that showed us parts of Sidemen we definitely wouldn't have seen otherwise. 10/10 would recommend!

Great Tour if you want to learn more about farming and everyday life in Sidemen. Daria was an amazing tour guide, explaining so much about balinese culture and farming. The rice fields are beautiful. Stunning views of Mount Agung included. The trek itself is not Hard, but you need some balance. 10/10 recommend!

A wonderful experience off the beaten track in the heart of the rice fields with Mount Agung as a backdrop. All with the explanations of Adi, the guide who comes from a nearby village, who explains the whole rice process and shows us the activities of the inhabitants of his village. I highly recommend it. Authentic atmosphere, without tourists and enriching (we literally walk with the rice workers).

This was a wonderful trek through some of the most beautiful scenery in Bali. My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to be taken round on a private tour with DARYA, who is a local to the area! He was so knowledgeable and was able to tell us all about Sidemen as he took us round the small farming villages and through the rice fields. I’m so glad we decided to do this as you’re far away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist centres and it feels like you’re experiencing the REAL Bali!

It was an awesome Trip. Darya is one of the nicest persons in bali. The walk through the ricefields was fantastic. It was raining heavily, so we had no view on the mountains but because of daryas effort it was still one of the highlights of our trip. He showed us the local market in sidemen, trekked with us through the ricefields, showed us his village and even invited us into his house for a coffee. During this, darya explained a lot. His english is very good, so communication was not a problem.
