    Not So Great Excursion.

    Walter_S, Sep 2025
The tour was okay . The biggest problem was the tour guide. He seemed like he was always trying to figure out where he was. He missed telling us about the bridge or Palace when we passed it. He was never sure where he wanted to bring the group to talk. The places we stopped at were great. I just think the confusion of him made the trip a little crazy. We left at the last stop and walked back to the ship and I really enjoyed that. I would tell someone about this excursion and hope they didn’t get him as a guide.

Not for you if you are english speaking!

    Bita_H, Jul 2025
We booked this trip as English speaking travelers and this tour was sold to us as “English speaking only”. We meet with guides and they were very nice and welcoming. Upon boarding it became clear that only 4 of us spoke English and the rest of the full bus were German speaking. During the bus tour out guide was very interactive but sadly it was 90% in German and when she would finally get tell is about what we were seeing, we were either way passed the building or we would get 10words in English. Most of the times the guilds were reading off their notes which made the experience even more gloomy. The walking part was more inclusive as the second guide tried to make us feel like we are a part of the tour. Overall we don’t recommend this tour unless you like to like to pay to feel excluded, lost ans frustrated.

    I could not consistently...

I could not consistently hear commentary by the guide even though she used a microphone. It diminished the tour's effectiveness.

Excellent tour of the city with knowledgeable guide. However miss out the first Fort for the view and have more time at the second fort and the Cathedral.

    Bad experience

    David_B, Jun 2025
My wife and I recently took part in a tour in Trondheim, Norway, booked through Viator for June 19, 2025, booking number XXXXXXX. Unfortunately, the experience did not align with the advertised description, and we are incredibly disappointed with the level of service provided. Key issues: We were not informed of the tour operator’s name, making it challenging to locate the departure point. The operator was initially unaware of Viator and had no signage or clarity regarding our booking. When we finally got on the bus, it had a terrible urine smell. The tour was advertised as a bus tour with minimal walking, yet it included a 1.5-hour walking tour, which we were unable to participate in due to age and mobility constraints. It turns out that the listed 30-minute stop at Nidaros Cathedral was conditional upon joining the walking tour, forcing us to hire a taxi ($30) to return to our ship. The itinerary mentioned a drive-by of the Old Town Bridge, which was not included at all. These discrepancies made for a stressful and unsatisfactory experience. We did not receive the service we paid for, and incurred additional out-of-pocket costs due to the misleading nature of the tour description. We are requesting a full or partial refund, including reimbursement for the taxi cost.

Not bad could have been better.

    Robert_M, Jun 2025
Could have been better, the pick up point wasn’t crystal clear and the route from the cruise ship wasn’t obvious. Plus our guide wasn’t a local, he was a student and wasn’t sure about a few things, although his knowledge of the cathedral was good.

    Fun morning

The guides and bus driver were great. Guides quite informative and the driver navigating the tight narrow streets was impressive. The only thing I would recommend is a better description of where to meet the tour when disembarking a cruise ship. Most cruise ship biases are in a parking lot adjacent to the pier. The was about 100m outside of that and left down an alley.

Was a bit nervous after reading previous reviews. We asked for help, but was able to easily locate the bus. The guide and driver were great. Loved hearing the details of the city.

    Great Overview

This tour provided a great, quick overview of Trondheim and help us plan the remainder of our stay there. Great guide and diver. Thanks!

    Great city tour!

Our bus driver was very kind and very knowledgeable on the area and he was very helpful in planning the day. At every stop he walked with the group and offered information about each location which was much appreciated.

    Young Inexperienced Guides

    Paul_C, Jun 2024
Kept waiting stood outside the bus for 30 minutes. Then complete chaos as the young guides struggled to check people in, split them across two coaches and let people board who arrived and pushed to the front of the people who'd been stood waiting patiently. When the guide took us off the bus, she spoke to the 5 or so people stood in front of her and nobody else heard a word. On our last stop the guide led us to the Cathedral, gave another quiet talk to the few stood in front of her and then told us she was taking us back to the bus. No time for external photos never mind inside the Cathedral. A complete waste of our time and money.

    not a trip to take!

    Corinne_P, Jun 2024
first of all there was no bus, when the bus came there was no sign on the bus, the bus driver didn't had a clue what tour he was on. So we and a lot of other people were waiting in the freezing rain. at the end some other tour leader came and said this was our bus.... there was no tour guide. he came when everybody was on the bus. too late as well! the tour was a 2 hour drive and 1 ½ hour walk which was never mentioned. I can't walk long distances so I would have never booked this tour in the first place! The tour guide's english was a mix of german and english, really bad! So no we didn't have a good experience!

    Disappointed

    Jennifer_K, Jun 2024
My husband and I showed up 30 min ahead of schedule and couldn’t find one tour bus that says “city bus tour”. We waited 15 min past the tour time and finally left. I’m waiting to get a refund for this tour.
