This was a great start to our Tokyo experience. The class was informative and the sushi was fresh and delicious. The sake was good too. The instructor and staff had great personalities and made sure we learned and had fun. Highly recommend.

We had a great time at the sushi cooking class. From the first moment the team was super friendly and welcoming. Everything was very well organised and the food was yummy. We made a sushi roll and then also nigiri sushi. Would thoroughly recommend.

My family and I took a sushi-making class during our trip to Tokyo, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and you could truly taste the difference in every bite. The instructions were simple, clear, and easy to follow, which made the whole process enjoyable for everyone, regardless of skill level. The instructor did a fantastic job guiding us step by step, making sure we felt confident along the way. The best part, without a doubt, was how amazing the sushi tasted at the end—we couldn’t believe we made it ourselves! This was such a fun and rewarding experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Disappointing but still fun experience

Considering it was advertised as a #1 sushi place we were disappointed as there was no sushi chef to demonstrate the process, the sushi making was shown on the screen and all the comments were made by the host/entertainer. Another disappointing part was that the sushi was made on the plastic sushi mat instead of a bamboo one. And the whole set up lacked an authentic touch. But it was still a fun cooking time we spent together. The sushi tasted very delicious.

It was cute. The staff was pleasant and nice. Not great sushi but fun to make. I would rather find an authentic sushi experience and pay more. However cool meeting people from other places.

Good experience but could be improved

Sushi making class where we were taught to make maki rolls and nigiri sushi. Sushi class led by friendly local with excellent English. - she hade it both interesting and fun. Our class seemed to be overbooked and staff were a bit flustered and late starting the class. I also think everyone should be given a glass of water. We added the sake flight but it took too long to be delivered so we couldn’t enjoy it with our food and we felt rushed to leave due to the late start and another class being due.

This was such a blast! I have been wanting to do this type of class with my oldest son for a while now and what better place to do it than in it’s birthplace in Tokyo. Great communication provided on location and a wonderfully friendly staff. We enjoyed how interactive it all was. The quality of the food was excellent. We appreciate the little bit of history that came along with learning the how to. I also really enjoyed that they used toy sushi for us to practice with before we made a mess out of ourselves. Other classes I looked at were only for nigiri sushi, but I chose this one because they did both nigiri and maki. Our whole family did awesome and had fun. Highly recommend!

Great Staff, But the Experience Fell Short

The people running the class were excellent and deserve 5 stars. They were very friendly, welcoming, and clearly did their best to make the experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, the overall setup was a bit underwhelming. There were close to 30 people crammed into a very small room, which made the class feel rushed and less interactive than we expected. We’ve done several cooking classes in places like Thailand, Italy, and Spain, and those experiences were much more hands-on and relaxed. Compared to those, this class just didn’t quite measure up. Again, the staff were great and did the best they could—it just felt like the format and group size limited what could have been a much better experience.

This sushi making class was so fun! The staff brought the ENERGY making the process quite enjoyable. They also have very purposeful seating arrangements where they ensure that your group sits together with other similarly sized groups. If you are solo traveling they put you all together, which is really helpful to make friends!

It did not disappoint! If you think you’re just going to sit down and ‘SUSHI’ it is more than that. You get a very informative history lesson (it’s brief but you get to know sushi) and then detailed instructions before you’re set loose. They did an excellent job to engage and instruct to make sure you got the most out of your experience.

The team was great. My husband and I were the only ones scheduled for a group session and they took care of us making us feel extra special. The dinner was hosted by Kosuke who gave us recommendations on what to do, taught us culture and customs and even tried to teach us a bit of Japanese! We really loved the experience and the sushi was top tier!
