What a brilliant day out! Honestly, such a smooth experience from start to finish. Finding the meeting point was super easy and we actually left right on time, which is always a plus.
Our guide, Russell, was awesome—really knowledgeable and helpful the whole way. I loved getting a bit of history about Mount Maunganui and the quick stop at McLaren Falls before we arrived at the farm. Once we hit the Hobbiton set, I completely lost track of time; I couldn’t believe we’d been walking around for two hours by the time we finished!
If you're looking for a stress-free way to see the Movie Set, I'd definitely recommend booking with these guys.

Hobbiton is a must do experience for anyone traveling to New Zealand, whether or not you’re familiar with hobbits. Russel, our tour guide with Wicked Wanderers Tours, was excellent. He entertained us with stories and stopped to show us some stunning NZ sights on our way. I highly recommend this five star tour!

This was an absolutely fabulous experience. The tour operator Russell of WickedWanders tours was first rate, entertaining, and personable. He went more than the extra mile (literally) to show us some other fascinating sites as well. Everyone at Hobbiton was so friendly and informative. Highly recommend!

Excellent tour, our guide Nicolee was awesome, she was super friendly and knowledgeable. There were a few different tours offered going to Hobbiton but this one included the tickets to get in. This is a must do tour for any LOTR fans! Afterwards we stopped McLaren Falls and then to McLaren Lake to check out the scenery, really pretty!! Great day, thanks for the amazing tour!

The Hobbiton movie set is absolutely amazing - much more extensive than we imagined, and you even get to go inside a Hobbit Hole! And we had a lovely tour of New Zealand on the way to the set. Russell was very knowledgeable, and shared his country with us. We saw some immense vistas, stopped by a kiwi orchard, and enjoyed waterfalls in McLaren Falls Park. We loved being able to see the New Zealand landscape in addition to the movie set. An excellent tour!

An amazing tour from the time Nicolee picked us up at the cruise terminal to the drop off. Small group of 10 getting to Hobbiton then she handed us over to the Hobbiton tour guide who took us through the village. It was exactly as we remembered it from the movies with some interesting tidbits about how the production worked. On the way back to the cruise ship Nicolee stopped to show us a scenic waterfall, the Main Street in Tarangua and the beautiful beach. A wonderful day!

We had a wonderful experience both at Hobbiton and with our driver/guide Russell who picked us up in Tauranga. He showed us some wonderful sights and told us lots about the history of New Zealand and Tauranga. He made sure we were safely on the hobbiton tour bus and stood there ready to pick us up after! We had the day! 😁

We were able to find tour right away from cruise ship. Tour operator was very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The tour of Hobbiton was the highlight of our trip. We enjoyed it from beginning to end. The only criticism I had was the website that wouldn’t let me change credit cards without canceling tour and rebooking with new card. That caused much anxiety but turned out ok.

Our tour guide Nichole was amazing, friendly, informative and fun. She made great use of our time by showing us some of the sights of Tauranga before we got to Hobbiton. The Wicked Wanders tour at Hobbiton was well worth the money and it was an incredible experience to have our own tour guide show us through the movie set.

The perfect tour even if you're not a hobbiton fan or no much about the movies. Our driver picked us up right on time from the port and from that moment until we arrived back our day was fantastic. On the way back we saw and stopped at a few additional sites to take photos as well. Couldn't have asked for a better day. Would highly recommend!

Very professionally run tour using a clean, comfortable and air conditioned mini bus. Just a small group of ys and Nicolie our driver and guide was both enthusiastic and informative. Hobbiton certainly lived up to expectations and on the way back Nicolue took us to the McLaren Falls Park which was beautiful and also stopped by to show us a Kiwi fruit plantation. This us a really popular tour so you need to book early to avoid disappointment. The majority of us in our group booked almost a year in advance.

We had a wonderful trip. A very nice, knowledgable and friendly host/driver. She gave some health and safety advise (use of sunscreen, hat etc) she even gave opportunity to buy a hat for those whom had forgotten theirs, and offered them her sunscreen. (With UV intensity 18, not a waste of effort) We fully enjoyed the Hobbiton village tour. Wicked Wanderers groups are

Wonderful day, sunny and pleasant. The new hobbit hole that a person can enter and walk through a hobbit house was exceptionally nice. Our 2nd trip to the Shire and definitely the best.

We met the driver on time at Tauranga who drove us to the set with a very informative and interesting talk about the area and background of the set. Hobbiton itself is stunning, from the backdrop of the rolling hills to the layout, design and incredible attention to detail of the gardens and houses. The trip inside the Hobbit house was amazing and it was great to be able to interact with the things inside. The tour group was just the right size so not too big and the guide was very knowledgeable. The trip to the Green Dragon Inn was great too and the souvenir shop had a wide range of products and was very reasonable. The drive back was good, with the driver still getting us back in time for our cruise, despite a major accident.
Well recommended for both Tolkein fans and people looking for somewhere interesting.

Hobbiton is, of course, a magical experience. Whether a Lord of the Rings fan or not, it is truly special to experience the movie set and the addition of the hobbit hole is great. The highlight of the day, though, was our tour guide Russel. Absolute diamond of a guy, incredibly knowledgable about the local area and its history. Would not have been the same without him - thank you so much!
