Tour guide needs a script or information about the history of the Cabot Trail. We got no history of the Cabot Trail

    Jolynn_H, Jun 2026
This is a lot of driving in a car. If you get motion sickness not the excursion for you. Stops are not related to history of area. (Chocolate store and bakery and glass shop). Main building of Keltic Lodge is closed.

    Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We truly value your honesty, as it helps us continuously improve our excursions. You are absolutely right that the Cabot Trail involves a significant amount of driving; it is a vast and winding mountain highway, and we will make sure our tour description more clearly highlights the twisty nature of the road for future guests who may be prone to motion sickness. We also appreciate your note regarding the stops and the historical context. While our local artisans—like the glass, chocolate, and bakery shops—are chosen to showcase Cape Breton's modern culture and rural hospitality, we understand that you were looking for a deeper dive into the region's rich heritage. We are currently working with our guiding team to ensure the incredible history of the trail's construction, the Mi'kmaq heritage, and the early settlers is shared more robustly during the driving portions of the tour. Lastly, we apologize for the disappointment regarding the main building at the Keltic Lodge. While the historic indoor space is currently closed, we usually focus on the breathtaking geography and history of the Middle Head Peninsula itself, but we will ensure our guides better set expectations for this stop moving forward. Thank you again for helping us refine our tour. We hope you still enjoyed the beautiful coastal views of our island!

    Beautiful scenery, transport below expectations

    Clare_A, Oct 2025
The scenery was beautiful, would definitely recommend the trail. BUT there were 6 passengers in the car so my husband did not have a window view of the scenery and our driver drove very fast ( made it a bit uncomfortable at times in the back). As we left the port an enforcement officer stopped the car and revealed that the driver was not licensed for the Cabot trail. This did not stop us going though. Also the car was showing several warning lights which made us a little uncomfortable. Seemed overall a bit disorganised and unprofessional, vehicle not big enough for the number of people and the length of time. That being said the fall colours and view points / photo stops were great - we are glad we got to see everything.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the fall colors of the trail. However, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and concerns you encountered during the tour. Please be assured that our drivers are licensed, and the officer let them go after verification. Unfortunately, there are some issues with certain authorities prioritizing commercial tours, but we are fully registered and compliant with all regulations. We understand the importance of a pleasant and secure experience, and we're committed to making the necessary improvements. Thank you for your understanding and for bringing these matters to our attention. We hope to have the opportunity to offer you a more organized and professional experience in the future.
