First day we only covered...

Jerris_S, Apr 2026
First day we only covered the lagoon but the second day was amazing. Surreal photos of the salt flats during the stargazing session and the sunrise. Wine during sunset was the icing on the cake.

The journey is the reward, expect some disconfort during it

Ever was a super guide. Professional, competent and reassuring. The nature is impressive and we could only want for more stops (perhaps in place of salt processing and train cemetery). Perhaps we could visit a salt extraction operation too? The low points were the night stays and meals (specially breakfasts). Also, we missed visiting Dali’s desert.

Had a Blast at the Salt Flats

Adam_H, Feb 2026
We were lucky enough to have Iber and Vale as our driver/guide and the entire tour was so enjoyable. Both of them were not only highly knowledgeable, but more importantly, very friendly and fun to chat with throughout the two days. The heavy rain that had fallen made certain activities impossible, such as accessing the Tunupa volcano, but they made sure that we compensated by seeing other fascinating sights such as a plethora of seemingly endless rock formations, including a formerly underground cave with stalactites of calcified algae. Of course we spent almost the entire first day on the salar, and I'd agree it does live up to the hype, but for me it is the variety of interesting sights that this team was able to show us, and their warmth and enthusiasm, which really made the experience so fulfilling. I'm not sure if the hotel is always the same one, but we got to stay at Cruz Andina (made of salt!) and it was delightful -- do note that high winds can cut off power at times, but both times it happened they got the generators running again very quickly.

Great Tour but can be improved

While I enjoy the majority of this Tour, a few things can be improved. We did the 2-day Salt Flats tour with Andes Expedition. The drivers/guide are very nice and knowledgeable. The tour started on time. The salt hotel (Noritha) that came with the tour is not good. I dont mind basic accommodation but I mind good service. Dinner was so late, it was at 930pm, nobody is available at the reception if you need something. Breakfast was late too, they said 9am but by 910am we came down and nobody was there. We have to wait again. It wasn't a good experience. The tour also came with an early (optional) stargazing/sunrise experience - I did not enjoy this because they squeezed 7 people (plus driver) in a 4x4 vehicle. The drive was so tight and uncomfortable.

We did the 2-day Uyuni Salt Flats tour with Andes Salt Expeditions and it was amazing. The sunset and mirror effect were unforgettable, and our guide Edwardo went above and beyond to make the trip special. Highly recommend!

Highly Recommend!

Highly recommend the 2D1N tour with this company! Juan and Fernando were excellent, very funny, great at getting us to the best places, amazing photographers and just all round, made sure everything ran smoothly. 2D1N gives you a good chance to explore the Salt Flats without needing to spend too much time there! Food was great and in abundance including wine for dinner which was a nice touch. Accommodation was good, better than expected! Itinerary does change as others mentioned but at no point did I feel like I missed out - if anything, I was amazed at how much we did do and see!

Highly recommended - great trip

Fantastic 2-day tour to the Uyuni Salt Flats.

Sorcha_D, Jul 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-day tour to the Uyuni salt flats. Thank you to our guide Raquel and driver Jesus for making our visit so enjoyable! Raquel was a fantastic guide, she was so friendly and shared so much information about the salt flats and Bolivia with us. The scenery was spectacular and unique, and we were lucky enough to see the mirror effect despite the time of year. On the second day we got up early to see the stars before waiting for sunrise - which was beautiful! As keen birdwatchers we were very pleased to see two types of flamingos as well as other bird species. We also saw viscacha, vicuna and lots of llamas! Thanks for a wonderful two days.

Amazing experience

An unforgettable experience, which I highly recommend if you are in Bolivia. Our guide Jose was amazing very knowledgeable and gives us so much information, prepare our lunches and look after us so well. Highly recommend tour if you are in Bolivia!

I had a different guide...

Laura_K, Jun 2025
I had a different guide for each of the 2 days and they were phenomenal, fun, knowledgeable, communicated the plan/sched clearly, picked great view points and help set up photos when wanted. The communication etc from the company itself I was displeased with. After booking, they initiated a what's app for communication, which was readily utilized until I started to have questions on written itinerary vs what was actually happening, or so it felt like. The written plan said star gazing at the end of day 1, but when I was dropped off at the hotel my guide said the pick up was tomorrow morning. I messaged the company on what's app and got no response, just a notification that the message was viewed. I gave up waiting a couple hours later and messaged again about the plan for the next day, as the written itinerary said sunrise, then back to the hotel for breakfast, but the 0930 start time precluded that. Also, no response. They finally responded 1hr before pick up time and commented on neither of my two questions. I emphasized that I chose and paid for the tour based on the written itinerary. On the positive side, it felt well organized and pressure/hassle free. I would rate my guides as 5/5 but the company as 2/5.

We had an amazing experience! Jose was detailed oriented, exceptional historical knowledge, and passionate about his job. He keeps his vehicle in tip top shape! Cleaning it the whole time we were out. He loves to help your group have fun and capture great pictures. The food and accommodations were clean and nice. We were unsure of what to expect, and this trip was a highlight of our Bolivian adventure.

Fantastic!!

Lorenzo_B, Apr 2025
We had such a great time, and Brian was both a great guide and a great photographer / choreographer :) Day #2 we had to change plans because of flooding and got a great day in the Andes instead

Great experience!

Douglas_E, Feb 2025
Experiencing the Uyuni Salt Flats was great. Our guide was excellent. The tour agency changed our itinerary at the last minute (supposedly due to weather?), but it still turned out well. One negative was that although the group size is advertised as " maximum of 6" - they actually combine two groups of six (in two cars). So in reality the group size is 12. The food was basic, but good. Accommodation in the Salt Hotel was very nice. Another problem we had is that the agency sent us a list of things to bring on the tour... We followed the list exactly. But the list did not include bringing flip-flops or waterproof sandals for the Salt Flats - a definite "must have". Overall, this tour was a great experience for us.

Breathtaking & Unforgettable Scenery

Steve_B, Feb 2025
We participated in an overnight tour of the Bolivian salt flats. Our guide Henry was excellent. The views created by the mirror effect are just incredible. Henry took many fun photos and videos for us to share. Highly recommended!

A perfect way to see the salt flats.

Daniel_S, Jan 2025
Our guide, Juan, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny, kind, and took great photos. The food was also surprisingly good. Overall, an amazing trip!

Great two day trip, well organized

Md_A, Dec 2024
Excellent trip conducted professionally by two guides, Christian and Henry, both were knowledgeable, funny and attentive to every questions and needs we had. Trip meals were excellent both in terms of quality and serving atmosphere. Hotel accommodation and meals were also great!

Another world!

Aaron_G, Dec 2024
A must see if you’re in Bolivia! It’s hard to comprehend how big the slat flats are, the island, visit to the volcano and the sunset are amazing.

A most memorable experience

Souheir_A, Dec 2024
Other than the fact that the Salar de Uyuni is one of the most beautiful places on earth, the tour operator was phenomenal. They were extremely communicative, when the area that we were supposed to visit on day two was flooded, they quickly changed plans, accommodation and itinerary to ensure that we still had a wonderful experience. They proactively sent out a message to that effect even before the tour started. Additionally, there were shortages of fuel in the country, yet they ensured that the trip went on as promised and went out of their way to have the cars fueled up before we went out. The front office person Wendy is very helpful, our driver Carlos and guide Edwin were delighted, very knowledgeable and helpful. The trip was extremely memorable and, luckily, we, as a group, jelled extremely nicely together. I highly recommend this operator

Amazing scenery

Preston_P, Nov 2024
This tour out to the salt flats actually surprised me with how good it was. The salt flats were phenomenal. To my guide Edwin and my driver Carlos, you both did a fantastic job in showing us the best of what Uyuni Salt Flats had to offer us. Both your knowledge and expertise was second to none. To any influencers looking for some good photos, these two people are the ones you want for your next tour to the salt flats. I got some awesome photos and videos. Thanks once again brothers, you’re both legends and highly recommend this tour :)

Great service and fun guide!

Rena_N, Nov 2024
The trip was great. We had Daniel as the guide and he was a lot of fun and took some great photos of our small group. Food and accomodation we provided and both we pretty good. Loved the trip and would go again with them.

Amazing two day tour of...

Laura_R, Oct 2024
Amazing two day tour of the salt flats! Our guide Axel was informative and told us great stories of his culture and brought us to amazing spots for photos. The food and accommodation exceeded expectations. I was unable to complete the hike of the volcano due to altitude sickness but we still had amazing views of the volcano from the flats.

Andes Salt Expeditions ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Niall_M, Oct 2024
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 day salt flats tour. We were surprised by how many activities were packed in and nothing felt rushed. Our tour guide Raquel was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and It was clear that she has a real passion for teaching people about her home country which really shone through in the tour. Our day 1 tour guide Enrique was great fun and went the extra mile to make the experience memorable for us. The food prepared by the team for us was amazing and we never lacked anything. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to do it!

A once in a lifetime experience!

Shehan_D, Aug 2024
This trip was well organized and had many interesting stops. The tour group did a phenomenal job and they went above and beyond every step of the way! Things to be aware of: climbing the volcano (optional) requires moderate fitness levels and the weather can get quite cold (below 0°C at night) so dress accordingly.

Uyuni

Mark_W, Aug 2024
Uniquely beautiful location. We saw everything we wanted to see. Guide and driver/cook first class. Accommodation was freezing - no heat in bedroom with outside minus 6 degrees!

Wonderful experience, good value, greatly recommende

Riccardo_R, Aug 2024
The tour is operated by Andes Salt Expedition. We can fully recommend this operator as our 2 days experience was very well organised, the accommodation and food were very appropriate and the program was perfect. In only two days we had the chance to see the main highlights of the salar, hike in the tunupa volcano and enjoy the salt hotel. The guide, Jose, was of great company and very passionate and committed. He made everything to let us enjoy the tour and explained very well the processes behind the salar formation and its exploitation by the local communities. He took care of every necessity leaving just the fun to us. In general, we feel that the trip has a very good value and if one is passionate with the wild nature of the salar, this is the best program you can get to see the main highlights in just two days - and it was very well managed and organised.

Only go for the salt panes

Jay_e, Jul 2024
The salt panes were the highlight, especially with super professional photos from Brian. I do not recommend the second day as the company does not bother telling guests that they don't do the sunrise bit in winter or the 2nd viewpoint on the volcano. It seems it is too cold, but given the package deal, this is misleading and too expensive for what you end up getting. And Brian and Henry were super helpful, enthusiastic and kind, but we would say there were primarily drivers providing basic explanations rather than guides in the usual sense of the word in other countries (i.e. who usually provide lengthier and more detailed commentary)

Andes tour is the best tour operator in Uyuni.

Bernardo_C, May 2024
I didn't try all the different tours that are in Uyuni but I didn't have t do so, to realise that Andes tours are the greatest company doing these tours. Carlos became my best buddy and let me sit shotgun for both days of the tour and entertained the whole group with his great music choices. Axel was also great explaining us about the history of this glorious place called Uyuni.

Highly recommend this company

Jin_J, Apr 2024
At first it started out a little slow.. the train cemetery and first stops felt way too touristy with everyone trying to have us buy things. The trip only went uphill from here. The salt flats were incredible. Lunch was tasty. The sunset was absolutely stunning. The next morning I opted for the sunrise tour. We got to go star gazing and jt was the most magical thing I’ve ever seen. Later that day we went to the volcano but since I had a bad knee the driver drove us up most of the way up a road he’d never driven before and clearly other people hadn’t in a while. He was very accommodating and willing to help me out. They put my friend and I up in a gorgeous hotel that had a fantastic dinner and breakfast.

It was Amazing and more…

Mallory_B, Mar 2024
The whole tour was great, we where picked up from the airport, and straight to the tour office which gives us the briefing plus time to get ready to start the D1 tour. Everyone at Andes Salt Expeditions was helpful, then off to our D1. Everything was amazing and the highlight was the Salar de Uyuni, our guide was amazing in explaining everything. It was such an experience. After the sunset we where taken to our hotel, which I actually lowered my expectations but it was amazing Hotel Kachi de Uyuni. Then we had a bonus of stargazing & sunrise, whis was awesome, we got lots of great pics and just watching the skies full of stars and the sunrise. Kudos to our guides/photographer. Then off to our second day which was great as the first Bolivia is amazing, we enjoyed it. We had a little flat tire accident in the middle of going back, but our guide is great and know exactly what to do. All in all I reccomend this tour 100%. If ever you are in Bolivia check out Andes Salt Expeditions.
