Rob & Deb were great hosts. The snorkeling was amazing. Their sailboat was so much fun. We had never sailed before. The rum punch was awesome. I would highly recommend them for a wonderful and personalized excursion. Deb even dove in to rescue my UV sun shirt.

Our family of 5 had the best day out of the water with Deb and Rob! The sailboat is amazing! It was a smooth ride despite being a windy and wavy day. We loved snorkeling at Christmas Cove and saw lots of beautiful fish, a stingray and a sea turtle. Deb and Rob are easy, fun and entertaining. Our teens loved them and the whole experience. Highly recommend!

Overview

Hop aboard the beautiful sailing vessel Cosmos Mariner for a small group sailing and snorkeling adventure for up to 6 guest max. We'll sail from Sapphire Beach Marina and take you to a spectacular location to snorkel with tropical fish. All snorkeling gear will be provided, and alcoholic beverages and soft drinks will be served on board at no additional charge.

This was so fun! My husband wasn’t feeling well at one point but Rob and Deb took amazing care of him. Made sure he had water at all times, also made sure everyone on the boat had what they needed. The hospitality was unmatched! Deb constantly filled our cups up with whatever drink we wanted, she offered us snacks after snorkeling too! Rob gave us some good dinner recs and told us some good info about the island. We would definitely recommend this to anyone!

We had a wonderful time sailing and snorkeling with Rob and Deb. They were amazing hosts, super friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun chatting with them and learning about the islands around us while sailing. They took us to a terrific spot for snorkeling where we got to see sea turtles, a stingray, and a variety of beautiful fish. This was my first time sailing and it was a great experience, there were only two other people on the boat with us, which really made it feel like our own private excursion. I would absolutely sail with Rob and Deb again next time we are in St. Thomas. Also, the rum punch was delicious and we had some great laughs along the way. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time on the boat and in the water! We were in a small group and enjoyed snorkeling a reef and area of turtle grass all to ourselves (plus a resident turtle) without the crowd typical of cruise excursions. The rum punch was delicious. Our hosts were so knowledgeable and friendly. We really appreciated that the excursion left and got back exactly when it said we would. Unrelated to the actual excursion, but the taxi ride to Sapphire Beach from our cruise port was a great chance to see some of the island and learn more about it. We went early and spent some time on Sapphire Beach

Great communication ahead of time and easy to get to the meeting point. Hosts are amazing sailors and great people. Provided snacks, snorkel gear that was in good condition, and excellent rum punch and drink selection. The sailboat itself is beautiful and the sailing was excellent with a great view of Tortola and St. John. We went to Christmas Cove for our snorkel and it was lovely. Fantastic diversity of life and a good time. Would do it again.

It was totally awesome - We enjoyed every minute of it. The sailing was fantastic and the snorkeling was the best. We got to snorkel at a place where we saw a Ray as well as three sea turtles. Would definitely recommend this excursion.

My best friend and I...

My best friend and I decided to go on a semi-private sailing & snorkel trip with Deb and Rob on their beautiful boat. We had a wonderful time. While snorkeling, we saw a lot of colorful fish, sea turtles and coral! Deb served us drinks of our choosing and some delicious snacks during the trip. I would highly recommend their charter to anyone who is interested!!

Family of four (older kids), went on this tour led by captains Rob and Deb. Beautiful sailboat, lovely day, great company and clear water for snorkeling. While it costs more to avoid the crowds, it’s worth it and this tour comes highly recommended. We’ve snorkeled before, so wouldn’t say it was the best, but it was fun to swim with colorful fish, turtles, blowfish, and rays. Everyone enjoyed it!!

The best snorkeling experience

This was the best snorkel experience I’ve had so far! They made the trip feel personal and were patient teaching us everything. There were only 4 other people with my party of 2. The drinks were flowing the whole time and the music was great. 10/10 recommend!!

the sailing was perfect. There was a nice reef with a lot of fish and 4 turtles that I was able to swim next to several times. Rob and Deb were a great team. It is very personal and only a maximum of 6 people on the boat which was exactly what I was looking for.

I can’t say enough about why they offer the best experience, hands down! This included SO much more than just snorkeling. Firstly, it’s a “semiprivate charter” so there was only one other couple on the boat (excluding the captain and hostess, both of whom were great by the way) so it wasn’t crowded and was an enjoyable boat trip to and from the snorkeling spot. The fact that my wife and I were able to sit comfortably at the front of the boat and enjoy time alone on the water did a lot for us as a couple and was not something I expected to take away from this trip. To me, the boat ride is a means to end and snorkeling is the prize; they made every moment memorable. It’s a beautiful sailboat and a pleasant experience in these waters. We were taken to a sunken boat to explore, awesome. The whole area had diverse marine life and tons of coral reef to explore. We swam with turtles which was the experience we wanted and got! Cherry on top, we saw so many fish and I didn’t know most of them, once we finished and were heading back, we were handed a laminated leaflet that had names and pictures of every fish we saw and every fish we could’ve seen. That was a small detail that was very appreciated. This was worth every cent and any excursion that’s 3 hours long and not only flys-by but you wish it were longer… that’s money well spent and a good time. Thanks Deb and Rob for making our 10 year anniversary trip even more memorable!

This was the perfect tour if you want to go for a boat ride and snorkel. We booked this because it was a smaller group and wasn't a "party boat" and that was exactly what we got. Deb and Rob were so down to earth and communicated with us what to expect the day of. We snorkeled for about an hour at Christmas Cove which was just the right amount of time to see turtles, sting rays and a ship wreck! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful boat tour at St. Thomas!

Super fun sailing experience! The windy conditions on the way to the snorkeling spot added to the adventure. Captain Rob and Deb were great sailors/hosts. We enjoyed having a private sailing with our family of six. The marina is next to beautiful Sapphire Beach, which is a 25-30 minute taxi ride from the cruise port (and costs $15/person each way). We highly recommend Sailing the Cosmos!

Their website has great information and photos, and the experience was accurately portrayed. We went in March 2025, Sailing in that area is gorgeous, and they took us to a great snorkeling spot with a shipwreck, some coral and grassy areas with turtles. We saw 5 turtles, 2 rays, 7 large starfish, and a good assortment of fish. Pretty much the perfect half-day excursion. Rob and Deb are great.

Great way to see St Thomas and the USBVI from the water. Deb and Rob were very knowledgeable and great hosts. If you are wanting to get away from the crowds and unwind this family friendly experience is a great choice. Sailing and snorkeling out of Sapphire bay is always a treat with plenty of time to eat and shop downtown and hop back on your cruise.

Great snorkle spot! Wish it was longer, did not realize 2 of the 3 hours was travel to and from. Also, can be choppy when sailing,so beware motion sick folks and take dramamine before!

The sailing portion is an integral part of our excursion and definitely shouldn't be viewed as just travel time to and from the snorkel location. We give our guest 1 hour in the water which is typically plenty of time for most guest to get out and enjoy their snorkel. I booked this on a whim based on the reviews and I’m so glad I did!!! Deb & Rob are AMAZING & this was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone. I’m not the strongest swimmer & they were so patient with me & provided enough instructions for me to be able to venture out on my own. I ended up seeing several turtles! I would absolutely book with them again in the future.
