I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It’s not just about an incredible snorkeling experience—it’s also the perfect way to get out on the water and fully soak in that Caribbean vibe in the limited time we had off the ship. Our crew—Captain CJ, John, and Sydney—were fantastic hosts: fun, knowledgeable, and always going the extra mile to make sure everyone had an amazing time. The boat itself was ideal for the trip—comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly suited for a relaxing day at sea. An unforgettable experience all around!

BK, John, and Sydney were so helpful! Everything was on time and exactly what the four says on time. John pointed us toward the sea turtles. They were helpful with all equipment. They also gave adequate time at each spot for everyone to explore!

Such a great experience, we didn’t see very much wildlife besides one turtle and lots of fish but Sydney and BK made it so much fun! They provided drinks and snacks and were so helpful throughout the whole experience.

Captain CJ and John were excellent hosts. What I most enjoyed was that John swam with us and enthusiastically showed us stuff we might miss, like the nice sized octopus which was extra special to see. They appear to enjoy their jobs which didn’t go unnoticed. A family of 4 had a good day. The boat ride, good tunes, sea life and smiles were all very worth it. 100% recommend Ocean Safari - top notch!!

Captain CJ was very good about deciding the best spot without a lot of waves and obscurity. We saw turtles, reef squids, lizardfish, and a cow or a trunkfish. I thought we were getting fruit and beverages before and between snorkels. They had bags of chips and crackers. Have breakfast before you go. Excursions are about twenty minutes out, between, and back to the dock.

Our Captain CJ and snorkel guide John were great hosts. They took us to 2 snorkel spots, one was Hawks Nest Bay in the National Park and the other was Christmas Cove off Great St. James Island. John got in the water with us and helped us see lots of colorful fish, a green turtle and an octopus. Then we went back to dock to pick up pizza and Captain CJ found a great spot for us to enjoy our pizza and adult beverages while watching a beautiful sunset. They made the trip very fun and entertaining and we would definitely book with them again.

Captain Andy, Sidney and Darian were wonderful! They took us to amazing snorkeling locations. We saw turtles, an octopus, sting rays, star fish, jellyfish and lots of beautiful fish.

First time snorkeling and we did it as a family! Core memories! Definitely kid friendly thought our 9 year didn’t know how to swim they had all the equipment needed to help him float. They educated us on the areas and safety precautions. We saw turtles, starfish and lots of tropical fish! Sadly this was the day we lost Ozzy but the tribute songs on the way back home was epic ride on those waves! Thanks , One Love, The Morant’s

Andy and John were amazing captains of the boat! They were both very knowledgeable on the best places to snorkel and helped us use the equipment correctly! John was in the water in case anyone struggled during, and he pointed out some animals we wouldn’t have seen otherwise and explained what they were! We definitely recommend! There were unlimited snack and beverages which were awesome for after!

Cool experience, but wasn’t able to see turtles. Tour guide was cool but made a lot of inappropriate jokes for kids being on this tour. Enjoyed our experience, but would book with a different company in the future.

This was my third time on this tour and my second time with CJ — and it just keeps getting better! CJ and John were fantastic guides, super knowledgeable and fun to be with. We saw sea turtles, a spotted eagle ray, a puffer fish, and even an octopus — such a magical experience! I always feel safe and relaxed with this crew, and the snorkeling locations are absolutely stunning. Can’t recommend this tour enough if you’re in St. Thomas. I’ll definitely be back again!

We took the boat with 2 adults and 3 kids ages 8, 10, and 2. It was fantastic. The staff is very professional and the boat was not crowded at all. Maybe 12 people total, so it felt private. The boat is in top shape, very clean and sturdy. The restroom was well kept and clean. We snorkeled at 2 spots - Maho Bay and Honeymoon Beach. We did get to swim with turtles and lots of colorful fish. The kids were allowed to jump off the side of the boat into the water when we were moored. The staff was great about offering drinks and snacks and making sure everyone was comfy. They had masks, snorkels, and fins for the adults and big kids. We brought our own USCG life vest for the toddler. All of us were able to swim. The first stop was an hour and the second only 40 minutes - I do wish we had had longer at the second stop as the water was much more clear and the fish more vibrant. BUT we did see everything we came to see and the price point was excellent. They picked us up on the beach in St John and it was a super quick ride out to Maho Bay. We are avid National Park explorers with USVI NP being our 51st National Park and it was important to us to snorkel inside the park, so this was absolutely perfect. The next time I am in USVI, I will absolutely be booking this tour again.

My husband and I had a wonderful time snorkeling with Ocean Surfari! CJ and John were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the safety instructions fun! I was nervous about what to expect. But everything was great! Boat had good amount of shade, we felt very safe, bathroom available on boat and at meet up spot, and snorkeling was so enjoyable and easy even being a first timer. We saw sea turtles, sting rays, an octopus, a lobster, and several other fish! The water is simply beautiful! Thanks so much for the awesome experience John and CJ!

We went out with CJ, Darion and John on an afternoon trip. They were all very knowledgeable about the areas we were visiting and the animals we would find in each one. Their explanations were thorough and succinct. We saw so many animals and felt comfortable and safe the entire time. The pizza was delicious and the sunset party was very enjoyable, even for our young child. If we visit St. Thomas or St. John in the future, we will definitely repeat this visit.

We had such a great time on this trip! Amazing places to snorkel- we saw octopus, turtles, sting rays, and so many tropical fish. It’s the perfect amount of time to get the full experience, but doesn’t feel too long. Very convenient pickup location as well, next time we are in the USVI we will go again!
