This excursion was truly amazing from start to finish. We were picked up directly at the cruise ship, which made everything super easy and convenient. From there, we were transferred by a small and very fast boat to the main vessel – already an exciting start!
After about an hour at sea, we spotted our first whales, and from that moment on it only got better. At one point, we were drifting in the water with whales all around us – an unforgettable and almost surreal experience.
The crew was fantastic: very friendly, funny, and at the same time highly professional. You always felt safe and well taken care of.
This trip is absolutely worth it – one of the highlights of our entire journey!

Great experience at sea. We went about 2 hours out and saw about 30 dolphins, unfortunately we didn’t see any whales but we were very fortunate to see the dolphins!!
A terrible experience. Twenty hours before the tour was due to start, we realized the booking had been made for St. Lucia in the Caribbean by mistake, rather than St. Lucia in South Africa as we had assumed. Neither the tour operator nor Viator was willing to offer a goodwill solution, even though there was plenty of time to do so. So we lost a lot of money for nothing. Overall, it was very disappointing. Next time, we will book locally.

We would like to clarify that your reservation was made through Viator, and as the booking platform, they are responsible for processing any refunds. When you contacted us, we advised you to cancel the reservation directly through the platform where the booking was made. This would allow Viator to review the circumstances and process any applicable refund back to your card.
Unfortunately, we are not able to issue the refund directly, as the payment was processed through Viator. We understand that this may have been frustrating, and we truly regret any inconvenience this situation has caused.

Wow! We saw so many dolphins!
We booked this tour as our teenage kids had never seen dolphins.
We were not disappointed. We saw hundreds of dolphins. It was amazing. Lovely crew and boat.
Lovely morning out on the water. We didn't luck out and see any whales but saw tons of dolphin. They put on quite a show for us, better than Sea World 😊. The boat staff were great, knowledgeable, fun, easy going. Great vibes. Great views of the island. Complimentary drinks. I would recommend.
Great tour and worth the money. We saw a lot of dolphins and they tried their best to get us to see a whale. The guys on the boat are great!

Book very early if on a schedule as there is high demand for this excursion. Lovely staff, safe/secure vessel and the drinks flow. Be prepared for wind/cold. Many dolphin sightings but no whales.

Such a truly wonderful and memorable trip this morning. We saw 8 whales and several pods of dolphins. The crew were friendly and knowledgeable and also kept watchful.
If you prime aim is to see whales and dolphins, be prepared to be disappointed. If you are wanting to see the west coast of the island, all good

Great experience, the boat wasnt over crowded, the crew were fantastic, we saw about 7 whales, drinks were flowing if you wanted them, great value for money.
This is a MUST-DO experience if you’re on St. Lucia and love wildlife watching (and boats in general). My fiancé and I drove 2 hours across the island for this tour and it was absolutely worth it — we saw Fraser’s Dolphins, Pilot Whales and a Sperm Whale on our tour. Captain Mike and the crew are the best around and know all the best spots to see the resident sea life. And even if you don’t see anything, you’ll get a breathtaking view of the island and free-flowing drinks. The rum punch was amazing, and we were also given little snacks to hold us over among the bottomless drinks. We plan to come back with our wedding party when we return to Saint Lucia, thank you Captain Mike’s for an amazing trip!!
We were very lucky to see dolphins, pilot whales and a sperm whale!! The crew were great, drinks flowed and the boat sailed to sea in search of the mammals!!! A great experience we won’t forget. Worth a try, at the very least you get to see flying fish and St Lucia from the ocean. 🫶🏼✌🏽 book it in my opinion!!
Nice ride and vibe. Delicious punch! Only downside was not seeing any whales or dolphins which I understand you won’t always see them.
Crew was friendly, but half of them spent most of their time sitting in the hull not looking for any signs of sea life. Boat was okay. No education on where the whales typically are or when they had located them recently.
It was fantastic! We saw a few sperm whales and flying fish. The crew were quite friendly and hospitable. Perfect weather!

This was a very good boat trip. There was plenty of shade if you wanted it and drinks and snacks on offer too. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We saw pilot whales and dolphins.
Loved it. Did not see Whales however did see loads of beautiful dolphins. All staff really nice and helpful. Would recommend to everyone to take part

Wonderful boat ride - staff very helpful - got close to a 35 ton whale - also some dolphins - plenty of refreshnents
We loved the whale and dolphin tour. The staff was kept us well supplied with drinks, water, and a few snacks. We finally saw a dolphin and a speem whale put on a show for us. On the way back the crew gave us a lot of information about the places we were going past on the island. Would definitely do it again.

They are super friendly and patient. It does take some time to spot them. But when you do they come in dozens!Overall phenomenal experience! Worth every dollar and most of all the hospitality is Amazing!We saw both dolphins and quite a few Whales!!
3 stars because while this wasn’t a boring tour (beautiful coastline, out on a boat, never going to be a bad time) both my partner and I felt the billing of it as a ‘whale/dolphin’ tour is hugely misleading. Aside from the slightly earlier start time, it is no different to any other tour you could do that goes down the west coast. We went out on a different snorkelling tour that literally followed the same route - same proximity to the coast, only departing 45 minutes later. The early start didn’t help our luck seeing anything (our tour was unlucky and we didn’t have any whale or dolphin sightings). Having done (successful) whale watching in other locations in the past, we were expecting to be taken much further out to sea in order to spot the wildlife. So, my advice is spend your money elsewhere where you can combine the sail with a bit of sightseeing or snorkelling and you will have just as much chance of seeing whales/dolphins as on this tour. That said, the crew were very nice, the drinks were generous, and if you are looking for a tour that avoids any other activities this was a very pleasant way to start the day.
We actually got to see two sperm whales and probably 50+ dolphins played around our boat. . It rained the entire boat ride but this didn’t bother us when we saw the beautiful sea animals. The driver of the boat knew the best places to go and also was in touch with other boats and got updates from them where the dolphins and whales were or had been spotted. He then took us there. There is of course no guarantee but one of the shipmates said they have about an 80% success rate.
On the way out, one of the girls asked if I wanted to go to the bow.. so I did and loved it. Fantastic views of the Caribbean Sea and its wildlife. Truly one of the best experiences of my life
It was an awesome experience, not too crowded. We really enjoyed ourselves. The customer service was wonderful and they made sure to make sure everything was going smoothly and that we were enjoying ourselves.
Do your research before booking a tour. It is not always whale season in St Lucia. The tour company knows this and is taking peoples money knowing there’s no animals. Whale season is October-February. Viator does not vet the vendors on this site. Therefore you will potentially be screwed over and can’t get a refund.

Thank you for booking with us. We are sorry to hear that you were not happy you did not see any mammals on the tour. We see mammals year round as we do have resident whales. You are not guaranteed to see any mammals when we go out. The mammals are in their natural habitat and we go looking for them. Sometimes in the season we still do not see any mammals. We try our best to make sure that our guests have a memorable experience
For the price it was lengthy, but not sure if it was a good or a bad thing. My partner was so poorly on the boat with sea sickness so fell asleep and missed most of it. It was an amazing experience to see the dolphins and whales, the staff were attentive and fun, just think it didn’t need to be so long out at sea. But overall a lovely experience:
