Although it is a cooking class, it is also a bit of an adventure. The chef gave us history, culture and the adventure of selecting our crab, preparing it for cooking, and eating.

House is back off road but once you’re there they make you feel at home! Very hospitable, knowledgeable , and just all around fun . Interesting stories, educating facts and not just about cooking. The food was tasty as well not to mention nice drinks too.

Cooking with Carmen was amazing! It was like being with family. We had a fantastic time, ate well, made new friends, and learned so many things about the local culture. I would do it again and recommend to others easily. It's a must-do!

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful evening with Carmen and crew! She welcomes you warmly onto her beautiful property and teaches you all about the crabs, the process, the food, and the culture. She truly makes you feel as if you've gone to your best friend's for a cookout while also providing excellent knowledge on the local culture. You can tell she adores St. Croix, and if you didn't love it already, you certainly will after leaving Carmen's with a full stomach. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is so wonderful, and this was an experience we will NEVER forget!

If you do anything in St. Croix while visiting this beautiful island, make sure it includes an evening of "Crabs with Carmen"! You experience the wonderful, casual, down-home hospitality of an island native, who has the charisma and personality to be St. Croix's Director of Tourism and Commerce. Learning to select, clean, prepare, and eat crab is a true art form!
Carmen and her great assistant Rochelle delightfully lead you along every step of the way, this while enlightening guests about some of St. Croix's culture and traditions. The evening is a refreshing change-of-pace from simply making a reservation at a restaurant somewhere and being served. You will not be disappointed - this is an evening you'll fondly remember while reminiscing about your stay in St. Croix. Do it!

Carmen was phenomenal! Her home was beautiful, with fresh local fruits being grown and crabs being housed. The food that we all cooked together was absolutely delicious. We also learned a lot about the island together. Carmen herself is so welcoming and fun. She recommended other places for us to try during our stay that were also amazing ! Crabs with Carmen was such an amazing experience! Her backyard is so beautiful and spacious! She has an outdoor kitchen, multiple tables to spread out, and a bar as well! The night was so well thought out and produced. She taught us about different local fruits and let us choose our own crab for dinner! It was so fun getting to prepare the food. Carmen and her crew were so warm and friendly, the atmosphere was great! I would definitely do this experience again when I travel back to the island!

Highly recommend! Carmen and her family do a great job of providing an intimate Island experience. The drinks were “friendly” (LOL) and the crabs were entertaining. Awesome outdoor space for hosting and Carmen brought great energy to the event. Her hospitality was undeniable from the very beginning.
