Unique experience. They had us ride a mining train. Then took us in various mine tunnels and explained the process. Lastly the information film about the working of the mill was cherry on top. Our guide Anna was very informative and explained the entire process. Definitely recommend this adventure even for younger kids.

A must do!! Our guide was Max and he was very informative and funny.. I can’t believe how many times I have driven by this place and did not realize the importance of this mill has become and a big part of history it is..

Fun, fun tour.

Wonderful experience! We thoroughly enjoyed the over hour long tour. Very informative and fun. We recommend this to everyone.

Interesting

Tiffany_H, May 2025
Interesting and more than I expected. The mill tour was my favorite part. The mine tour was short but still interesting to see the evolution of the process used to mine the copper.

Fantastic tour!

Our tour guide Glen was entertaining and informative. Loved the train ride into the mine and the live action displays

Wonderful time

Iurii_C, Apr 2025
I had a wonderful time with my family! The tour was truly fascinating, and I was especially impressed by the professionalism of the staff. The workers at the local café were incredibly friendly and attentive, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, everything contributed to a real holiday feeling. I’ll definitely be recommending this place to all my friends.

A must see while in the Vancouver area

JIANYAN_W, Mar 2025
The electricity was out during part of the visit (no fault of the facility as the transformer nearby was damaged). The staff were apologetic about not having power in the exhabit area, though the mine train and the mine tour were not affected (backup generator). The tour was informative and fun. The power came back right before we ended the tour so we were able to enjoy the "Boom" show, which is a must during a visit. All the staff are friendly and helpful. You can sense their passion and the love they have for the museum/mine. This is definitely one of the places one must visit while in the Vancouver area.

It was a wet cold day in the mine.

Denise_K, Feb 2025
It started slow with an overview but got better and better . our Guide Spencer made the mine come alive. We loved Spencer and “The Boom” was the most awesome finale.

This was such a fun excursion on our way up to Whistler. Learning the history of the mine from inside the tunnels was fascinating, and the multimedia show at the end was very impressive.

Great Experience

Michelle_D, Jan 2025
Had a great time and learned a lot. Definitely recommend and hoping in the future they allow more viewing on the different levels where the Boom Show is. Operator was great, only downfall is his accent was very strong so he was a little hard to understand at times. Other than that he was very pleasant.

Highly recommend to locals and tourists!

Touring the mine with my dad was amazing. We’ve lived in BC our whole lives and finally took a tour there in 2024. It was a whole theatrical production and so much fun! Highly recommend to locals and tourists.

Fun Tour

WingYiu_N, Sep 2024
I have booked the 9:30 tour before the trip but we were about 10 mins late. Staff is very friendly(and actually funny) when we arrived. We were luckily arranged to the next tour. Our guide was Chris. He is friendly and professional. The flow and interpretation is super nice and fun. People can really learned how the mill worked in the past. I really enjoyed the whole tour and the museum!

We previously visited the mine 20 years ago when the tour was limited and the building was in disrepair. The development of the site is impressive. It is a very worthy place for locals and tourists alike.

Great day out

Marianne_M, Sep 2024
Going into the mine was memorable. The presentation was fun and informative. A great deal of thought has gone into the presentation.

Well presented piece of mining history

Stuart_E, Aug 2024
The underground ride and the demonstrations of mining equipment. The “Boom” show at the concentrator building. I am a retired geologist and engineer who worked in the copper industry and an very familiar with mining. I do wish that there was more detailed information regarding the mining techniques used (stope, broom and pillar, etc,). Also, I wanted to know how other s were processed, such as Sphalerite and Galena and the actual mineralogies history of how the entire sulfide deposit was formed. Our guide, Tess, was very entertaining but didn’t have the background to answer some of my questions.

mine visit

SHELLEY_B, Aug 2024
was fun and boom show was better than expected. the underground tour was very informative and our host was very friendly.

Everything from start to finish was top notch. Highly recommended!

Eric_R, Aug 2024
The entire experience was fantastic! The guide was knowledgable, entertaining and made the experience fun. The exhibits were great. Panning for gold was fun. The Mill demonstration was cool

Education and historical

Amarjit_B, Aug 2024
Inside the mine. I was really touched to hear the hard life stories if the workers. I am would have never imagined how hard their life was and how hard they gad yo work to earn their paycheques.

Worth the commute from Abbotsford and three hrs home!

MaryJane_V, Aug 2024
Tessa made us feel We were in the era, she engaged in the group, dramatic and so clear to understand! I have a better appreciation of life as a miner and wish more people could see this and not feel So hard done by after what these miners went through! Well done and will be back with more grandkids!!!

Excellent customer service

Molly_X, Jul 2024
I accidentally made a mistake for the date of visit. It was within 24 hours window so no change can be made. Viator tried to help by sending the museum a email and followed up early next day with an update. Really thankful for their help and excellent customer service!

A worthwhile journey into mining history

Susette_W, Jul 2024
An entertaining guide took us thru the mine and talked about the history, equipment and township. The museum has lots of historic memorabilia and information. It took several hours to see all of the buildings and do the tour so give yourself plenty of time. We spent 2 hours and could have spent 3 but had to go. A worthwhile journey into understanding the efforts and the people of the time.

Awesome time!

Karen_B, Jul 2024
It was a wonderful time and didn't realize so many movies were filmed here. We loved it! Lots of visitors.

A trip back in time in the mine.

Kevin_M, Jul 2024
The show in the mill was really good. The demonstration of the tools used during mining was also very good. An enjoyable visit back in time.
