Take on a daring but safe climbing experience — the Sea to Sky Corridor’s Via Ferrata in Squamish. Italian for ‘Iron Way,’ this engineered vertical adventure consists of metal rungs and a specialized cable system. Once you get used to how high up you are in the mountains, look around for fantastic views of Howe Sound and nearby peaks. With a secured route throughout, this fully guided tour is a fun outing for adventurers ages 8 and up.

Earn some bragging rights by climbing the Via Ferrata at the Sea to Sky Gondola on this guided tour high above Squamish. Along with a helmet, you’ll be provided with a harness and lanyards, made up of two leashes that are clipped onto the cable for safety. With the entire route secured in this manner, Via Ferrata is a family-friendly activity (ages 8 and up.)
At the harnessing deck, get fitted with climbing equipment. Hike briefly down the Sea to Summit Trail through an old-growth forest, and emerge to a rewarding view of Howe Sound. At the ‘flight deck,’ your guide clips you into the safety cable.
See Howe Sound below and the snowcapped peaks of Sky Pilot above. With the help of the steel rungs and the fixed cable system, make your way across bridges, cross a catwalk, and head up glacier-worn granite.
Your Via Ferrata adventure ends at the Sea to Sky Summit Lodge, where you can relax on the sun deck.
Please note that gondola tickets are required to reach the meeting spot but are not included in the price of this expedition.

- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 2 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability
- Dress according to weather conditions, it can be a little cooler at the top of the gondola that at the base.
- Not wheelchair accessible
- What to bring: Hiking boots or running shoes (no sandals), sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, backpack, water, snacks, all weather jacket, light gloves.
- Bring a camera with a leash to capture the adventure
- Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 8 travelers

This was such a fun tour! I had a great guide, Fraser, and he was the perfect combination of friendly, safety oriented, and patient. He took a bunch of pictures of me so I could focus on the experience. This via ferrata was NOT technical and only ~hour-ish, but you do need to be able to climb the equivalent of a ladder up ~150’ and be comfortable with heights.

It was amazing. The staff are wonderful and helpful kind. We started out doing good, but when we started to climb, I couldn’t do it. I had to turn back. We had two guides-Nick and Victor. I told my husband to continue and Victor stayed with me and helped me to hike back down to the starting point. I’ve done two before this one and it is amazing the adrenaline and the rush is incredible. I just couldn’t do this one. But WOW! You got to try it. My husband continued and he enjoyed it. . Nick and Victor you’re awesome and amazing. Thank you Victor for all your help and support. M & N😎

Fantastic experience. Meet up was easy and it was really special taking the gondola up first. Much more mentally challenging than physically challenging. Faced my fears and felt safe and supported the whole time!

Definitely NOT a beginner’s hike or climb!- (especially if you have any recent sports injuries!) - however - EMIL WAS AN EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR AND TOUR GUIDE! He was patient and very knowledgeable. We could not ask for a better teacher and guide! Thank you for a wonderful experience, Emil!

We had a wonderful adventure with Dan. The whole time was fantastic and we felt very save with Dan as our guide, he made us feel at ease and we completely enjoyed the views!! Got some nice “trophy” pics as well. Also recommend hiking to Shannon falls before going up the gondola. Beautiful and impressive!

My young adult children and myself did the Via Ferrata with Tache on July 5. The entire experience was amazing. Tache was awesome. Professional yet fun, with tons of great information about the area, the history and the experience. He went out of his way to take pictures of us, even using an extra cable to get better angles. I have already recommended this activity to all my friends and family!

Nick our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! My wife was super scared at the beginning but the course was beginner friendly enough that she rocked it and now is a pro lol. We got lucky with the weather in April, but if you don’t want rain might want to do the tour during the dry season.
