This experience would have been great, however Viator had the wrong information on their website and therefore caused us to miss our tour. The ticket we bought said 9:30 Al departure. We arrived at 9:10 only to be told that the tour left at 9:00 am and the 3rd party company (Viator) had displayed the wrong information. The tour guides were very helpful and informed us that they will be messaging Viator to help start a refund for us, however Viator has not replied and has not issued our refund despite multiple emails sent requesting one. We were unable to rebook this tour due to it being sold out. Incredible disappointing to not only miss the tour, but also not get refunded by this company. Would not recommend using Viator to anyone due to this terrible communication.

Our guide really elevated this excursion.

Easy, gentle and well organised trip onto a glacier, perfect for first-timers. Most equipment provided, and Dario was a charming and entertaining guide. Beautiful to be able to walk on the glacier and experience it close up.

Easy and beautiful way to explore a glacier. Dario, the Italian guide, was an excellent leader, explaining every step and helping us navigate the glacier. He also made some photographic scenes to enhance the tour. Highly recommend.

Sadly the day before our glacier hike we were contacted by the company that due to operational issues they couldn’t run the hike and instead offered an ice cave tour. However, the ice tour ended up being a poor experience. If you’re after a physical challenge and authentic experience, ensure you don’t take the alternate offer.

The experience itself was great. The booking process was awful. We booked several days ahead of time and when we were pulling up to the location listed after a +2 hr drive to get there, we got a call telling us the location had changed to someplace about 45 minutes away. We started the drive to the new location, now running very late. About 10 minutes into the new location we got a call saying the previous information was not correct, and that the tour had actually been cancelled. So we made a 3 hr drive for a tour that we weren’t told was cancelled until we already arrived at the location listed. They apologized and scheduled us for the next day, but we had to change up all of our plans for the remainder of the trip to Iceland. Also the Link they sent us to reschedule with made it so we couldn’t use our Viator credits so it ended up making it more expensive than it was originally. Once we were on the tour our guide was excellent and it was very enjoyable though the hike/walk itself was less than an hour of the 3 hr experience.

It is a great and unique experience. It is also suitable for beginners, at first it is a bit uphill but afterwards it is nice to go. Our guide 'Stone' was very nice and told a lot of interesting things about the glacier. I would recommend it 100%.
