Boring, Overpriced & Not Worth It – Avoid This Tour I booked the Side: Manavgat River Cruise with Lunch, Waterfall & Bazaar Visit and unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most underwhelming experiences I've had while travelling. From the moment we got on the boat, it became clear that the whole thing was a money-making scheme. We were immediately hit with extortionate prices – €5 for a single pack of crisps, drinks, chocolates, or sweets. The boat stayed parked for over an hour in the chilly winter weather, not for sightseeing, but so the crew could try selling overpriced wares. They also took photos of people with a parrot and attempted to sell them for €10 each. The boat ride itself was very short, taking us to an unimpressive stretch of beach where we walked around aimlessly for an hour. Then we returned to the boat for lunch – I had pre-selected vegetarian or fish, but was told on the day that fish was “too expensive” and was offered chicken instead. The food was disappointing overall; dry chicken and bland options that left many people complaining. The entire experience on the boat was cold and boring – you could see people were unhappy and restless. When we finally reached the waterfall, it was dull and unengaging, so I left after 30 minutes. At that point, I couldn’t bear the trip anymore and cut my 8-hour tour short, ending it after just 3 hours. To top it off, it was clear the tour host was getting freebies at every stop for bringing in tourists to spend money. The whole thing felt staged, artificial, and designed to squeeze as much money from visitors as possible. If you’re considering this tour, don’t waste your time. You’re far better off hiring a private driver and exploring Side and Manavgat on your own terms. This trip was nothing more than a boring, superficial money grab.
