Excellent excursion to Panarea and Stromboli

The bus trip to Milazzo was excellent, and the guide gave a lot of information in 3 languages. This was completed by interesting comments during the boat excursion. At night the boat stopped in front of Stromboli volcano and we could see a lot of eruptions and beginning of lava falll down, but nothing going down to the sea (no luck)as shown in some postcards . Later on I asked the Viator contractor to give me the distance between the boat and the volcano, but did not receive any answer

Beautiful and tiring tour

It is a beautiful tour but a bit tiring. It is a 1h30 bus ride from Cefalu to Milazzo, then a 2h boat ride from Milazzo to Panarea, a 2h stay in Panarea with no real possibility of swimming, a 1h boat ride to Stromboli, 2h stay in Stromboli. There one can swim in the sea but one must wear rubber shoes with thick soles that can go into the sea because walking on a rock-beach is tough. We got unlucky that the sea was so rough that the boat captain decided to skip the volcano eruption and head back early. Many people were getting very seasick. But it was absolutely beautiful and worth the trip.

First we assumed that we would travel...

First we assumed that we would travel to the islands from Cefalu by boat not spend hours in a van. The boat trip around the islands was pleasant. Panarea offered little but we had a wonderful meal in a restaurant not recommended by the guide.. Being left on a beach of stone for 2.5 hours was torture. A crime against humanity!

Transport en bus un peu trop long par rapport au temps que l'on peut passer sur les deux îles (2h par île). Certes, elles ne sont pas grandes, mais cela permettrait de s'arrêter réellement manger dans les bons restos plutôt que de picorer à la va-vite. Quant au Stromboli, on ne maîtrise pas le spectacle qu'il donne le soir, mais il semble que cela soit souvent assez modeste. Ceci dit, l'équipe est sympa et les lieux sont beaux !

Une journée magique. Merci à notre guide Carmen qui nous a accompagnée tout au long de cette journée. Une guide au top, pleine d'énergie. Petit bémol nous aurions préféré rester plus de temps sur l'ile de Panarea. Une excursion sur cette île avec les explosions du Stromboli à la tombée de la nuit aurait été parfait.
