We hired a private guide for a two hour...

We hired a private guide for a two hour tour of Ephesus. We met him at the upper gate and walked through the site to the lower gate. A travel tip is to take a taxi to the upper gate and make sure you have the same taxi meet you at the lower gate in a couple hours. Our hotel staff at the Ayasoluk made sure this went off without a hitch. We started our tour at 5:00 so it was after the crowds and we had the place to ourselves. We were able to get all of our pictures without hordes of tourists and sometimes not one soul even. Tourism is down in Turkey by 80, so that is part of it, but also the late in the day timing was perfect. Great place to see and enjoy the ancient city.
