This tour truly exceeded our expectations. Ilian was a very knowledgeable, experienced and passionate guide with an excellent command of English. We learnt a lot about the stars in the southern hemisphere. There was a varied assortment of sweet and savoury snacks. We went home with wonderful photos. To top it all, there was a little surprise act included too.

My Dreaming of Milky Way Come True

My main purpose of traveling to Chile this time was to do stargazing. So, I reserved 3 different stargazing tours for the 3 consecutive nights I stayed. This tour was a success, and the other two tours were canceled due to clouds. The team did a superb job in explaining what we could see and taking photos for everyone with a spectacular Milky Way background. This one tour gave me everything I dreamed of for this trip. Thank you a lot.

Brilliant tour guide, great telescopic equipment and a great buffet of treats and hot drinks to finish. We loved our tour and loved learning about all the stars we normally can’t see in our polluted city night skies.

Before arriving to San Pedro de Atacama, I was thoroughly excited about stargazing its night skies. Unfortunately, this tour didn’t live up to that expectation. The tour operator originally gave me a 30 minute window for hotel pickup, but it ended up being an hour of waiting for pick up. The tour operator only provided information about the delay once they had been contacted by my hostel. The tour is held in someone’s backyard. Even though there is a fence surrounding the backyard, it is right beside a road. Throughout the tour, multiple cars were driving by. Seeing their highlights certainly interfered with the “dark night” experience. We spent about more than half the tour listening to the guide speak, both in Spanish and English, about stars, constellations, and planets and then, pointing them out with his laser. There are two telescopes and we looked at about six stars and planets in total. The rest of the tour was spent taking individual and group photographs. There was a reception at the end of the tour, which actually was very lovely, where they offered drinks and snacks in a garden lit with lights and played music. The tour was advertised for 3 hours and I arrived back to my hostel around 2 and half hours later.

Star guide was very knowledgeable and helpful at pointing out the stars. There was plenty opportunities to see through the telescopes and take some pictures. The pick up/collection was very disorganised and confusing. The tour should have the snacks during the star gazing as waiting until the end made the tour go on much longer than required especially so late at night

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The accommodations were beautiful, the snacks and drinks were great, and there were super cuddly cats to top it off. I can only imagine how stunning the sky is in June-August, but even in summer it was fantastic. I appreciated all the background info given by our guide and I would love to know even more about how the indigenous people in Latin America understood the stars rather than the typical Greek mythology.

This was a bilingual tour. Since there were many more Spanish speakers, they got about 3 times more info than we did. Looking at the stars was amazing, food was good and transportation was fine

Very welcoming and homely, the night was conducted in Spanish and English. I learnt a lot about the universe and got to take away some great photos. On top of that we saw two shooting stars/comets! Plus the wine/bubbles were tasty. Thank you!

The night I went on the tour, visibility was limited because of the almost full moon, but Joaquin and Vicente do a really great job of explaining all the things you can see in the sky. I was able to take a look at some planets and stars on the telescope, and that was really cool. Blankets and a hot drink are offered at the start, and there is a cocktail hour at the end of the tour.

Good views of Saturn and Jupiter and of course the moon which was nearly full.Other stars aswell. Some wine and nibbles for afterwards aswell

Conscientious and passionate guide

Absolutely lovely! We were able to see so many stars since the location is so remote. I worried about being cold- but it was not an issue. I brought warm clothes and was immediately greeted with a warm drink. While we learned about the constellations and history of star gazing in the atacama desert we were given lap blankets to stay warm. The guide was so well informed and passionate about Astronomy which truly made the experience wonderful!

This was amazing! Joaquin and Vicente are incredibly nice and knowledgable, it was like visiting friends in their own home, Vicente took the time to help my fiancé set up for Astro photography and since he’d missed part of the telescope, Joaquin went out of his way to show him everything he had missed and some other stars that were not included. They welcomed us with hot tea or coffee and after the talk and looking at the night sky, they had wine, pisco sour and lovely nibbles and a gorgeous bonfire to sit around and talk, I’d have gone there every night, if I’d have the chance, I absolutely loved it and it’s a must! Well done, guys!!!
