      Ill prepared and haphazard

Pros: The people who brought us around were nice. I wouldn’t call them “tour guides” though. The man took us to their family's well manicured home who showed us how to make cacao and had souvenirs to purchase. They were very nice and it was interesting. The cons: We were not given helmets, little instruction on how to operate the machines, no instructions on how to drive on the narrow roads which are packed with motorcycles and scooters flying around you. We asked for 3 ATVs we got 2. There was no itinerary, didn’t tell us where we were going, how we were getting there or where we were when we got there. It didn’t take us to any of the places listed on viator site. The “tour” was not tour and unplanned at best. We did enjoy seeing the area and the people who live there, as well as seeing the beautiful jungle. Not worth $280 for 4 through.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent ATV adventure with us in Samaná. We truly appreciate both your positive notes about our team's friendliness, the cacao experience at the local home, and the beautiful jungle scenery, as well as your constructive criticisms. We take safety and operational standards very seriously. We sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you experienced—particularly regarding the safety gear (helmets), the discrepancy in the number of vehicles provided, and the lack of clear pre-ride instructions and itinerary communication. This falls short of the VIP and organized experience we strive to deliver. We are addressing these operational details with our local team immediately to ensure proper safety briefings, correct equipment allocation, and structured itineraries on all future excursions. Thank you again for helping us improve. We value your insights and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a flawless experience in the future.

      Wrong itinerary but still good.

Just got back from this excursion. Let me break it down into sections. 1. We did not get what was advertised and what was on the itinerary. It indicated that we would go to Limon falls but we did not. The price we paid for was ATV to 2 beaches and going through small towns. If we wanted to add the falls, we would go by horse and would have to add 60$ per. We said no. 2. We did not let this spoil our fun and went with the tour guides itinerary. It was worth it. Visiting Limon and Moron beaches was amazing. The ATV adventure was super fun. 3. Lunch was good...not great but again, its not 5 star dining either. 4. The guides were friendly and accommodating but not very good at English. Had to use Google translate a lot. On the excursion plan, it stated English speaking guide which would have been helpful as we had a lot of questions about the tour and towns but decided to just not ask. 5. The transport to and from the hotel was average. The vehicle we got picked up in was filthy and smelly but good driver. Coming back from the excursion, it was a different car. Less dirty but very cramped in the back. I'm tall so my knees were aching. Overall, was the money we paid worth it? I believe so. My only recommendation is that customers get what is indicated in the advertisement and itinerary that Viator sends via email. I spoke to the tour operator and he said that Viator was the one that messed up.

"Dear [Rommel. Ibana). ATV Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are thrilled to hear that you found the ATV adventure super fun and enjoyed visiting Limón and Morón beaches! Regarding the itinerary, please note that this specific excursion was booked and structured specifically as our ATV and Beaches Adventure package, which focuses on coastal exploration and small towns. We apologize if there was any confusion with the description, and we will review our channels to ensure the inclusions are crystal clear for future travelers. We also appreciate your comments regarding the transport vehicles and language support. We take vehicle cleanliness and comfort very seriously, and we are already addressing this with our transport team to improve the experience. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back soon!"

Recommended, especially if you know a little bit of Spanish!

The experience was very fun and authentic to dominican culture as we got to experience a day to day in a dominican household and how they produce chocolate. However we requested an english tour guide and did not receive one, so we weren’t able to communicate where we wanted to visit. We really wanted to visit El Limon (which was mentioned in the description) but wasn’t able to communicate our wants. We just followed wherever the tour guy brought us. As a result, we visited a beautiful beach (not Playa Rincon, but way better) with blue waters and soft sands. The snacks and the foods they provided were delicious and traditional Dominican dishes that you don’t get to experience inside of a resort. Would definitely recommend if you don’t want to go to the mostly known touristic areas.

Dear Cindy, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your experience with us! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the authentic Dominican culture, loved the traditional Dominican food, and discovered our local hidden beach with its crystal-clear blue waters. We sincerely apologize for the language gap with your tour guide. We see that you specifically requested an English tour guide, and we fully understand how crucial clear communication is—especially when you were looking forward to visiting El Limón Waterfall. We are actively addressing this with our operations team to ensure our multilingual guide service is perfectly coordinated for all future requests. We are so glad that, despite this hiccup, you had a fun, off-the-beaten-path ATV adventure in Samaná. We would love the chance to welcome you back again to take you straight to El Limón Waterfall on your next trip! Warm regards, YAMIL TOURS
