We had a wonderful time learning how to make strudel and pretzels. The building was in built into the side of a cliff. The atmosphere was inviting. The ladies were very informative. It was well organized. The ladies showed us how to make the dough, which was a bonus. We met people from Tennessee and Australia! The goulash soup was superb! The best part was we were surprised with singing by one of the ladies. Her voice was enchanting. I would recommend this experience 100%. The strudel and pretzels tasted great too.

It was a lovely cooking experience making strudel and pretzels. Then dinner was served, either goulash or lentil stew, served with our pretzels and apple strudel for dessert. It was a fabulous experience enjoyed by all, and accompanied by an opera singer; a delightful surprise!

What a fun evening! Even our 16 year old son had a great time! This is definitely a must do! The instructors are wonderful and it was so nice to enjoy a delicious goulash and then get to eat the strudel and pretzels we prepared.

Taking this class was an excellent way to spend an evening when travelling alone. The instructor was excellent and bothered the strudel and pretzel seem like something you could reproduce at home after learning the techniques. The bonus was the lovely singing provided during the meal.

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Salzburg. Edelweiss Cooking School is in such a charming location and the instructors did a fantastic job of teaching us how to make apple strudel and pretzels. Our dinner was delicious and it was fun to be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor alongside the delicious meal they prepared for us. A standout was the mini-concert we were treated to as we ate - just a remarkable and very personal experience. I loved every minute of it and highly highly recommend this as part of any Salzburg itinerary. It was a 10 out of 10 experience we will remember forever.

This was a cozy evening at the kitchen.
Things involving dough leave me a bit intimidated, but Jimmy made it look so easy, and it was! He rotated around and helped as needed, offering tips and encouragement. Same holds true for the pretzel portion of the evening. He had this timed well; while the items were in the oven, his lovely wife serenaded us with her lovely opera singing and we were served a dinner of goulash. The evening ended with our baked treats.
I will say, that strudel was so much better than what I had a a fancy restaurant the night before! Great experience, well prepared, and a lot of tasty fun! Would definitely recommend!!!

What a fun evening. We learned how to make strudel- rolling out the dough, lifting it to stretch it out and how to fill and fold it into the perfect dessert. We also learned how to make pretzels. While strudel and pretzels were baking, we were entertained with music. To top everything off, we were served soup with our pretzels and strudel, enjoying a surprise dinner with fellow students.
A wonderful night for all.

This was a highlight of our Austrian/Switzerland Travel. We loved it! The class is hosted in an old cave, the teachers were patient and knowledgeable. I had a lot of fun that evening and it ended with great food and music/singing -- I would highly recommend.

We'll be making strudel and pretzels at home now that we've had excellent, hands-on instruction. We didn't expect the little singing recital on top of the baking class and a delicous dinner but we thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening. Thank you!

I did not expect much when we booked that activity we just wanted to do something différent and learn more about the famous Apple Strddel ! Turns out it was very fun. We really made the Struddel and the Pretzel and we hate our own ! It was fun and informative and although we were with others it was not crowded they had a lot of tables spread around so everyone got to participate. Simple but nice dinner served while enjoying our recipies. The place were the event was held was a wonderul building in stones dating back 600 years ! I would do it again for suire ! Our Hostess were kind and funny and we enven got a nice bonus of a live opera signing wow !!

Such a fun experience! My husband aldaughter and I really enjoyed this experience! The chef was very patient and well organized. Beer and wine were offered during as well. We were even lucky enough to have the young woman who was the chef’s assistant, sing music from The Sound of Music while we ate. She was a student at the Mozart School and sang amazingly. Everything was so delicious. Truly a wonderful time and so memorable! Highly recommend!

Mindful of the fact that many people have big feelings about cooking classes, I highly recommend this activity, with the proviso that this is somewhat of a demonstration class with limited hands-on experience. You will learn to make apple strudel and pretzels. The dough is already made for you, and your hands-on time will be in stretching the dough for the strudel, assembling the filling, and folding the dough into a strudel. Similarly, with the pretzel, the dough is ready, and you will learn to shape and salt the pretzel. While they cook, you will have a demonstration of the dough making process. You will not see a demonstration of the goulash making, but it’s delicious. Recipes for the pretzel and strudel are recited verbally but not given on paper. I think I heard someone say they are on the school’s website. There’s a cookbook for sale. I can’t remember if it was 5 or 6 euros, and honestly, it’s worth it for the goulash recipe. Beer and wine are available for purchase. The opera singer was incredible. I’d go back just to hear her sing and have another bowl of goulash.
