Fun day out with adventure!

We were picked up by Anddy and company in a private van. We were in heaven having our own tour away from all the other cruise ship people… but once you get to the waterfalls everyone is together and you go up there with over 100 people which made for slow going and delayed the rest of our day. They told us we could leave all our belongings in the van And it would be safe. Based on other reviews I wanted to take my phone in a water proof case but they insisted it was not a good idea as the phone would get lost in the waterfalls and we had our own “paparazzi” photographer just for us so we didn’t need it. You will def want water shoes and be prepared for a strenuous hike up! The water fall slides were amazing but rushed with all the people. We didn’t have any time to enjoy them. It was jump and go… The biggest waterfall is a bit scary. You can either jump, slide, or climb down. We all decided to jump and glad we did! We got back for a great buffet lunch and at that time they informed us it would be $150 For the pictures he took and he would send them to us the next day. I’m sorry, but I’m not paying that kind of money for many of the same pictures at a waterfall! So in the end, we don’t have any pictures. $150 is ridiculous! I wish we had been told in the beginning because we felt bad that we wasted the photographers time, but we had never committed to anything and they didn’t tell us in advance! I’m pretty sure he was supposed to come with us in the dunes buggies but once we didn’t buy he left. The drove us to a local place to sit through a coffee and chocolate demo where of course they want you to buy cigars, coffee, etc. but they weren’t aggressive and we didn’t feel pressured. The dune buggies are old and you definitely want a face covering. You will get MUDDY! We had a blast going through the huge puddles and although it was stinky dirty water, it was a blast! We were running short on time, so we stopped at a dirty, litter filled beach to rinse off very quickly. We were given a local rum and coke and back to the ship on time! Our driver was great about keeping tabs on the time!! All in all Anddys was great, just wish I had known these few things in advance.

Loved these activities! Only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is the duplicate stops for the 'tourist' shops. Rather have spent that extra time in the buggys.

We were picked up right outside the gate of the port. Received great directions and enjoyed the ride to the excursion. We had cool team leaders who made the experience enjoyable. The waterfalls were great I jumped for each one. The family also had a great time tons of laughter. I would encourage all to try it out. You only live once.

Does need a better description. Trip is split into sections: 1/ bus to waterfalls - water shoes are needed and whilst I don’t agree with others that have stated they were exhausted by the climb, it is an uphill walk of over half an hour so moderate level of fitness is required. You also need to be y afraid of water as trip does involve sliding down bits of waterfall and jumping into plunge pools. Despite having one friend with a knee replacement 4mths ago and his wife who does not like deep water, they both made it through and we all thoroughly enjoyed it..lovely scenery 2/ stop offs at local places to sample local produced coffee, chocolate and cigars..all had over-priced goods for sale and I personally didn’t care for this aspect of tour, albeit no hard pressure to purchase 3/ buggy’s we’re about 45 mins of off-road …we enjoyed it…buggeys made a throaty roar and it was definitely off road, albeit not the most beautiful scenery. Prepare to get muddy as you speed through muddy puddles/ponds…to us it added to experience and you were able to wash off in the ocean…which was warmest we had been in during our Caribbean cruise. I find some of the reviews overall negative, so much so that I almost tried to cancel but so glad we went though with it….we are fairly active late 50 year olds and thoroughly enjoyed the day and felt it was value for money

Waterfall YES it was fun, Buggy NOT GOOD AT ALL

We booked the Waterfall and buggy tour, and we thought the waterfall tour was really fun. It was a little hectic at the beginning of the tour and it was very crowded. Simone picked us up outside of the cruise terminal in an air-conditioned truck. I thought I had booked a private tour, but there were 4 others with us from the cruise ship. Simone however does not go onto the excursion with us, he sent us with the photographer. The waterfall hike is a really good hike up. It is nicely laid out path, strenuous in parts but overall, an excellent hike. We enjoyed the cold water provided before heading down some stairs to the first jump. You jump into a pool of cold water, surprising how deep it is, then onto the next. It is very crowded but moves along nicely. Several more drops/slides and walk thru caverns. If no crowds you could get thru in about 15 minutes, but with crowds it took an hour. Next was lunch, the best part was the chicken after lunch we got in the van and drove to the buggy place. I would say it was very disappointing. The vehicles need work, and the drive is NOT scenic. It gets you really dirty with gross water and the stop by the ocean was gross. The sand was completely littered with debris and the water is not clean. The buggy were really a huge let down.

The entire day was great. I really enjoyed our time, and the guide, Simon, was very helpful. The waterfalls were beautiful and made for an invigorating jump and swim. The off-roading in the buggy was a blast, and everyone loved it. Please note that water shoes are necessary all day and a face covering to protect you from the mud is needed.

This was the best excursion I’ve ever been on. Easy to locate tour guide, great directions and communication, clean, AC shuttle van; fun and informative operator. The waterfall Jim and slide was incredible, but the buggy ride was the best. So fun. Mackenzie the photographer was so fun, helpful and kind.

Not what we expected

This was not what we expected at all. We thought we would be riding dune, buggies and looking at waterfalls and maybe swimming in the pool below the waterfall. Never dreamed that we’d be hiking up a mountain and then becoming the waterfall ourselves! You rated this is moderate activity level and I am in good shape and it was very strenuous for me and extremely difficult for my partner. We were so exhausted we had our guide take us back to the ship and not even do the buggy excursion. You might want to put a better description of what actually is included in this excursion so people reading it are aware of the intensity of it.

Disappointed with the Buggies

This experience consists of two parts, one is a view of the waterfalls and the other is a buggy ride. The first part is a very nice place, but poorly planned, as the experience could be much better and I explain, They make large groups and the walk is long so instead of being able to do the walk in 20 min you end up doing it in an hour in the heat, humidity and with mosquitoes (which no one tells you to bring repellent). Also no one explains that you have to wear watershoes until you get there, to get another couple of dollars to rent shoes in bad conditions, wearing proper and comfortable shoes greatly enhances the experience. The second part is terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone, it turns out that it is a 60 min boogie rally, or at least that is the description, however when you get there, they just make you go through a pool of smelly mud, about 300 mts several times, then you go to the beach to remove the stinky mud and your experience is over. There is no dune trip along the beach or anything similar as description said.

Soy Luis su representante de ese día, sobre de que no le ofrecieron información, creo que por mas de 1 hora les brinde todas las informaciones que iban a necesitar, incluso el Sr. Anderson un día antes les dejo saber que deben de llevar zapato de agua, de igual forma en la descripción del tour hay una sección donde se explica que por favor traer zapatos de agua, bloqueador solar y repelente de mosquito! 😅 De igual forma les brinde la información en Español y luego en ingles, el día que realizaron la excursion Junio 17th fue un día que no había prácticamente personas como lo habitual! Bueno nuevamente pido disculpa porque no haya sido como esperaban y aunque quede confundido ya que dijeron que disfrutaron mucho, trataremos que en una próxima ocasión puedan disfrutar! 😅

Tour guides gave detailed instructions on how reach them as soon as you disembark. The van was new & A/C cooled Everyone on your tour is typically from your cruise so there's no concern about not making it back in time, or being left due to disembark delays. 15min Drive to buggys for 1.5hrs then 20 min drive to an intense 30 min Waterfall hike to the 7 waterfalls, which take 1.5hrs to jump/slide (REALLY FUN!). Then homemade authentic Dominican buffet made by locally owned restaurant just outside Damagugua park entrance. Then back to Taino Bay for the ship. It took about 6.5-7hrs, was well organized & operated!! Highly Recommend!!!

The waterfalls were beautiful but we only got to see 3. The walk to get to them was a little tough in parts but the guides were very helpful. We really enjoyed the experience and we are glad we went! The buggies were a lot of fun but very messy!!!! Our clothes may never recover 😀

My husband had a hard time climbing the falls. And we fell a bit behind however, two of the guides stayed with us and took us all the way up to the waterfalls. Richard and Sammy, we cannot thank you enough for everything that you did getting us up there. Jumping and sliding down the different waterfalls was amazing. It is a blast to do the waterfalls and the dune buggy in the mud was so much fun.. Hint.. wear dark t-shirt or dark bathing suit, you will be covered head to toe in mud. one of the best excursions we’ve done in a long time.

What a day!! Our tour was myself, my husband and another couple we are close friends with. We were met outside the Amber Cove cruise port by our driver, guide and paparazzi at 8am. We learned some history of the are while we drove to the 7 Waterfalls part of excursion. I was excited but also super nervous about jumping off the first part to get into the river for waterfalls. I’m not gonna lie, I was shaking for awhile after. 😂 And each waterfall slide to come was also a bit scary, but I lived. And am glad I did it. We were done with the waterfalls by 10:30am and lunch wasn’t being served until 11:30am. We didn’t have time to wait around for the included lunch as we still had to drive to the dune buggy portion and be back to the port by 2pm. It was hot the fault of the men who were doing the tour. Viator should have known all the details of the places they were taking us to. At the least they should give us some money back for that. We didn’t eat until 3:30pm. After the waterfalls we drove to a small coffee making and hand carved items market. From there we went to Dune Buggies. We were given helmets and goggles (honestly they don’t provide much protection, muddy water was able to seep in from above) and then a brief instructions. Then off we went. It was bumpy and muddy. It had rained that morning so lots of muddy puddles. It was fun, but I wish they would have warned us to plug our nose when going through the big ones. I literally got a muddy sinus flush. It was painful. And the goggles lack of suction allowed the muddy gritty water to seep in your eyes. The experience would be soooo much better with good goggles and warnings about water up the nose. After the buggies, we washed off as best we could, looked through our pictures, negotiated a price and were served either a beer or a small rum and coke and then hit the road to the port. We were back with about 45min to spare. Our photographer was the star of our tour. Raul went with us for everything and captured the day quite well. We chatted a lot and found out we have the same birthday.

Enjoyed the scenery and waterfalls. Our tour guide Alejandro was excellent. He took great photos that captured the experience. Glad a friend had told us to wear tennis shoes to the waterfalls since we had to hike up hills. Buggy ride was not worth it. We basically rode through mud puddles in worn out buggies. The beach area we drove to was very dirty. Also, there were to many people to tip throughtout the excursion. Overall waterfalls were beautiful, but would not recommend buggy ride.

Guide was excellent took pictures and video on trip for us. Which we purchased at the end. Waterfalls very pretty. Buggy ride was just going through a few mud holes. At end of trip I noticed I was missing a $50 bill I put my items in lockers at both locations so not sure when it was taken so beware of your items you take. Expect to tip several people ended up with 7 people by end of tour asking for tips.

This is a fun tour, our guide Jhon was kind and attentive. The waterfalls were a really cool experience, lots of walking uphill, steps, slopes etc, you are put with a large group, so patience is necessary. Lunch after the waterfalls was excellent, chicken, ribs, rice and beans. Then off to dune buggys, splashing around in water and a ride along the beach. This is a long tour, at least 6 hours, I would suggest going first thing in the morning or you will be waiting in long lines at the waterfalls and then be rushing through the rest of the day.

I cannot recommend Anddy tours enough! Luis and Raul were fantastic tour guides who made our experience unforgettable. From the easy pick up to the detailed instructions and information provided throughout the day, everything was top-notch. The waterfalls were a blast and the hike was manageable for all skill levels. The lunch provided was delicious and much needed after the adventure. The buggies in the countryside were an absolute highlight - be prepared to get muddy but it is well worth it! Having a private tour made the experience even more special and personalized. We felt like we were in good hands with Luis and Raul. We are already planning our next trip back with our kids and will definitely be booking with Anddy tours again. Thank you for an amazing day!

Extremely crowded and guide was more concerned about getting his buddy to take our pictures in order to make more money. Wasted tons of time, so much so it ran out of time and we barely were able to ride the dune buggies...maybe 15 minutes. Our entire group had to be back onboard ship by 3pm and we begged Simone to stop excursion and take us back to port. He made no attempt and was more concerned about having his partner take more photos to sell to us. Barely made it back on ship when we should have had a solid hour left according to the schedule...plus we barely rode the buggies. Viator should be ashamed to have this crew on its list of local tours/excursions.

This was one of our favorite excursions we did while on our cruise. The staff, especially Albert, were amazing and made our day so much fun. They made us laugh and were really personable. Lunch was amazing and the quads were a lot of fun! Would HIGHLY recommend!

Not good when your ride starts you off late

We had a great time, even though it was raining. We had a young man they called him the paparazzi. He was really awesome the whole time. Our taxi ride showed up late. The guy that was in charge of that was very agitated but the paparazzi got taken all of our pictures made our trip fun, due to the fact that our ride did not show up until late, we only had 30 minutes on the dune buggies that was not fair, but you have to abide by the time with the cruise ships

Amazing experience! We had a blast jumping from waterfalls and then mud buggies for the grand finale..jumping into the crystal blue surf! Joseph our driver took us to a cute stop where we ground our own coffee. Phenomenal experience!!! 10 stars We had such a great time and hope to return to Dominican Republic again soon. Everyone was super friendly and helpful.
