From the time we were picked up to the waterfalls to meal after, it was all amazing. The guides were personable, funny, and knowledgeable. They were diligent with protecting our safety. It was a wonderful experience. I’d give it a 10/10

Very difficult to find the driver to actually get to the excursion. Once there things were fine. We didn’t do as many slides as it seemed in the description. We were done within 3 hours including lunch.

We look forward to seeing you soon for more fun and adrenaline with us!

You are walking in river rocks the whole time, so wear some footwear with arch support that can go in water.

We appreciate your review. It's a pleasure for us to know that our workers are doing a good job!

Bring water shoes and be aware it’s a 3 mile hike round trip. Bring phone protection from water
We did not and didn’t get any pictures!!

This is a great excursion with some really unique features. Multiple waterfalls with natural water slides and hiking through the rainforest. Be aware that it should be the listed as strenuous. Almost 1 hour hike with over 30 minutes of uphill stairs and trails to get to the first waterfall.
The staff was amazing and understanding our limitations. I am very fit but my wife is a lung cancer survivor and it was a lot of work for both of us. The payoff is great but we would have liked to have known ahead of time the work involved in the payoff.
We have don’t probably 15 excursions all of the world with Viator and this was the most physical work. Again if you know ahead of time you can prepare.

The walk to get there is over a mile ,take good water shoes. It was extremely crowded!! They had no control of how many people where on the steps to the falls, an accident waiting to happen. Which there were 2. Be aware that you could get hurt. The guides were pretty good helping us in the river to walk across. I would say that i booked with Alfredo and never met him he had a driver to pick us up , which was fine but when we got to spot after getting geared up we were put in with a random group and i felt like they were the priority! In fact at the falls they left us behind and we disnt even see the 3 falls! Very disapointed we just sat there for over 30 min waiting for everyone to come and get us. So will i recomend the tour : sure i guess but make all questions before hand even if you think its silly.

Lady, remember that it was explained to you that the waterfalls were raining a lot and it could only be done on that day 3 due to the rain and caution for you!

So much fun! Great guides, we were debating on doing the waterfalls and we are SOOO happy we did. Definitely a must do experience for those who love adventure. We booked it day of 2 hours before the trip and they were so good about accommodating us. Photographer came along and got some really good pictures

Junior who met us and drove us to the damajagua falls was so kind and made us feel very safe, he even stopped and took our picture at the Puerto Plata sign. He was respectful and made me feel at ease the whole drive. The excursion was amazing!!!! I cannot give it enough stars it was a once in a lifetime experience the tour guide Francis was so nice and made sure we understood everything in English along the way. Felix was awesome he was the guy who took pictures and I completely recommend this tour!! We slid, jumped and swam through the falls. The hike was not hard they stopped at resting points along the way. I am no hiker and I was able to do it easily.

One of the best drivers we have is Felix, thank God he makes his clients like his family. For every comment you make to us, it helps us every day to see the work of each client, which is why we value each of the drivers and guides what we have!

We had the best time on this excursion. The day started early with pickup at my hotel's lobby and a short drive to the park in a medium size air conditioned van with WiFi. The driver gave us some great facts about the island and the countryside on our way.
When we arrived, everything was taken care of for us by the driver and we were hustled away to begin our journey. Bring water shoes or shoes that you can do a mild hike in and get wet. The hike was about 35-40 mins with breaks and a slow pace. It was very hot and humid on the hike, but the bugs were not too bad when we went (1st of June 2024). I am not an avid hiker, but do swim for about an 45 mins 3-5 times a week and did not find the hike challenging at all. They will take plenty of breaks and there are medic stations at points along the trail. The trail is clear, wide and has wooden/dirt steps in the areas you are going up/downhill.
The tour provides a photographer who was FANTASTIC. We really, really loved talking with him and spending half the day with him. You can bring your phone and camera or whatever, but it will get wet...there is no way around it unless you have a dry bag or a waterproof case. Even one of the other tour's photographer had some issue with his dry bag, so we were glad we left our stuff with the driver.
When you get to the actual falls, it starts with a "medium" jump of about 5 meters/15 feet into very, very cold water in my opinion. There is a ladder to descend if you do not want to jump. The river cuts through a limestone canyon and leaves very scenic and beautiful walls, waterfalls, slides, rocks and boulders. The bottom of the entire river is lined with river rocks and you must watch each step to ensure you don't roll your ankle or fall. It is not that bad and again, you are waiting for other people in the group before you move onto the next section.
There is then a couple slides and a couple more jumps. The final jump is about 8 meters/20ish feet and has an alternative slide if you do not wish to jump. I did not think it was taller than the first jump, but was told by the guid and the photographer that it was. Anyway, we all chose to jump and had an absolute blast. You could go back up and do the jump/slide again at this point as the river part was basically over. It sounds short, but probably took an hour and a half or maybe two hours.
There was a short hike back up to the meeting point and we turned in our gear, changed and had lunch. Lunch was a buffet of Dominican style food...a chicken dish, pork dish, some salads and rice. There were also some american options of french fries, alfredo pasta and I think I saw a hot dog. We were given a choice of coke, water, tea and coffee. I opted to purchase a cerveza from the bar.
Finally, we had a short drive back to the resort and we were given the option to purchase the pictures from the photographer. We reviewed them and paid the $25/per person fee to download them to our phone (or he would send them via Whatsapp if you preferred). The pictures were great, but honestly we liked the kid so much we would have bought them anyway, because it was not that much and we wanted him to feel we enjoyed our time, which we very much did so. We also tipped him, our guide from the park and the driver. None of them asked, but we had such a good time we were happy to show our appreciation to everyone that helped facilitate. Would definitely recommend if you are looking to enjoy a bit of activity that is not something which you can experience in very many places.
