The Great Barrier Reef was a long time bucket list item for me and my husband. The team at ABC brought that dream to life with their exceptional service, attentiveness, and overall hospitality. We were able to add a hotel pic up/ drop off which allowed for us to travel there worry free with our exceptional driver and guide from the boat crew. What truly made this trip stand out was the staff: guest ratio- it was almost 1:1! In addition, our snorkels were lead by a marine biologist who took care throughout the time in the water to point out things to see down below and explain the sea life we were seeing. My husband had recently had surgery and every staff member on the boat knew to keep an extra eye on him in the water. Instead of just giving us gear, staff made sure we were all meticulously outfitted and comfortable before entering the water. The boat was only 4 months old - large and spotless- with plenty of room for all.
Bottom line, if I could give ABC a 6 out of 5 stars I would and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone I know seeking to fulfill a bucket list snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. It was a perfect day because of the ABC crew!

An incredible snorkel experience! The crew were knowledgeable and super friendly. The boat was brand new and very comfortable, and the smaller passenger count delivered a more personal touch. We also did a different trip on a much larger boat with another outfitter and can definitely say that ABC’s more intimate experience is worth the splurge. Lunch was also very good!

Fantastic - truly a small group (8 guests) with wonderful crew! We were taken to two snorkel areas and saw so many different types of fish and coral. The crew were very professional and well informed and split us into groups of four to snorkel with a leader who gave us lots of information of what we were . We were given plenty of food, hot tea and pastries, orange slicesand a chicken wrap for lunch.Highly recommend

Fabulous experience! The small group of 12 with two marine biologist couldn’t have been better. We were given a 15 to 20 minute lecture on the different marine life in the reef before arriving at the reef. While snorkeling, the biologists pointed out structures and wildlife on the reef in great detail. The staff works extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good and fresh. Highly recommend can’t wait to return.

No other experience guarantees a snorkel group of <12 which is already worth the money, but to have two marine biologists with you makes the experience exceptional! It was a real treat to share in their knowledge and experience both on the boat and in the water! Food was good and having access to a toilet was nice. Despite a clear sunny day, waves were very rough. Do not skip taking sea sickness pills (they sell some on the boat prior to leaving if needed).

This was the highlight of our 4 week trip! By far the most amazing excursion we have been on in our travels, and an amazing way to explore the GBR. The small group and experienced guides were fantastic. We saw so much of the reef and the animals that inhabit it. Our group guide on the boat was Will, and he was so knowledgeable and kind when in the water! He truly loves what he does and loves sharing his marine biologist knowledge with us! We loved it too! We couldn’t believe all the things we saw and rented the go pro (so worth it!!) to capture what we experienced. The price may seem daunting to some but trust us, it is worth EVERY CENT! We 120% will come back to do it again one day!

This is an excellent tour option for those that do not like big crowds. This tour is capped at 12 people and it was perfect. Our guides, Sam and Jess, were very professional and experts in their field. Highly recommended for those that prefer smaller groups.

Paula our snorkeling guide (and Marine Biologist) was awesome and very knowlegable! Jason our Skipper, took us to two great spots on the reef where we saw giant clams, clown fish (Nemo), parrotfish, pufferfish, stingrays, sea cucumbers, and many schools of interesting other fish! It was a very educational one on one type of excursion that we would highly recommend.

By far the best snorkeling experience we have ever had…the marine biologist Sam & Callum were phenomenal. Both of them were super helpful, knowledgeable, & easy going. I personally didn’t get a go pro but Sam was getting videos and photos for a girl throughout the entire day. They also recommended a few local spots for beer and snacks. The small group tour is by far the way to go. My husband and I had a fabulous time with the crew! Super chill and so informative of the water and marine life!

As a rookie trying snorkelling for the first time, I am really glad I joined this tour and would highly recommend it to everyone!
During the trip, I suffered from severe seasickness, but thanks to the care and comfort of the staff, I ended up just feeling tired and my body was not in any serious condition.
During the snorkelling trip, I was carefully instructed on the use of the equipment. One of the crew members accompanied me throughout the entire trip and even dragged me back to the boat when I was completely exhausted due to the nausea and vomiting.
I am really grateful for their help! I was very touched by their sense of responsibility and patience. I would recommend them to anyone!

Very knowledgeable and professional staff. Paula did an excellent job managing the nervous snorkers in our group dealing with 2 foot swells. Small group was the only way to see all the sea life and learn about the reef. Would recommend ABC and if ever back in the area would snorkel with them again. Very good lunch to boot!

The small size of the group allowed for individual attention , particularly since our 8 and 12 yo kids were relative novices to snorkeling - the staff were helpful in taking them around the reef. They were very kind people, and knowledgeable about the reef flora and fauna. GBR did not disappoint- we saw a reef shark, many types of coral, parrotfish and other fish, and interacted with sea sponges. Bonus points for the food provided on board - it was very tasty ! One tip - bring your own towels.

So glad that we chose ABC Snorkel for our first Outer Reef experience. It is very clear this company cares about the Reef and about their guests having a magical experience. One of our guides, Paula, went above and beyond with my 8-year-old daughter; sticking with her every moment in the water and pointing out amazing wildlife we would have otherwise missed. Even an octopus! Highly recommend opting for the go-pro as well. We have visited all parts of Great Barrier Reef, it is the best snorkeling experience, Sam, Callum and Jason are excellent, they truly love what they do and provide the best possible customer experience, thank you team!

The entire day was excellent. My wife and I spent a lot of time researching the different options, and we went with ABC based on the small dive group and guide expertise. We were not disappointed. The small group made it so everything was personalized and educative. Furthermore, this meant we visited reef sites without anyone else around us, and they were able to choose the reef sites with calmer waters and vibrant wildlife. We saw pretty much everything advertised (except the skittish Reef Shark). An added benefit is during the swims either Callum or Paula are with you, pointing out fish, giving educational information, and checking in to make sure you are OK. They also help you take pictures and video if you have a camera or GoPro. It really is a hands-on operation, and I couldn't imagine being in better hands. If we were staying a few days longer, we'd go back out with them. Callum even designed us a next-day road trip south of Cairns to see the best local sites that aren't overrun with tourists.
