Travel beyond the beach on this buggy tour of Papagayo Gulf. After a brief safety training, take off down a winding trail in search of native wildlife, deserted beaches, and rural Costa Rican culture, stopping to take a swim along the way. No prior buggy riding experience is necessary.

This was the best experience. We were able to see so many beautiful beaches and Mountain View’s we would have missed if we did not do this excursion. Our guide was awesome and took the time to explain where things were and allowed us to swim and take our time. I would 10/10 recommend to my friends and family and would definitely do this again in the future.

The tour was fun but fell short of expectations as it did not match the tour description. We were supposed to tour the coast, stop at ocean lookouts and for a swim. I messaged the tour operator the morning of the tour to verify we should wear bathing suits and they said yes. We did not go anywhere near the coast and did stop to swim anywhere. We toured rural inland dry river beds and stopped in a cool little town for empenadas which were very good. The tour guides were nice. We've done many tours through Viator and have loved all of them. This time, something went wrong.

You’re absolutely right — our ATV tour includes the option of exploring coastal areas, with scenic ocean lookouts and even a swim stop. However, we also offer alternative routes through the jungle and rural backroads, depending on group preferences and trail conditions. On the day of your tour, our guide consulted with one of the participants in your group, and they expressed interest in the jungle route, which is why the beach portion wasn’t included. We truly regret that this wasn’t clearly communicated to everyone, and we completely understand your disappointment. Clear communication is key, and your feedback is incredibly helpful for us to improve and ensure this doesn’t happen again. As you’ll see in many of our previous reviews, our guests have indeed enjoyed the beach portions of this tour, which align with the tour description. trouble with refund

EDIT: It may have been a misunderstanding. My emails apparantly did not arrive at the right adress. Miller contacted me and we negotiated 200 dollars refund. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad experience! Me and my two friends paid about 600 usd in advance. At start of the tour we have found out that it was just for one buggy (really). So we asked for extra vehicles and we got 2 buggies and a 4wheeler. We were able to get those three for 791 dollars. During the trip one buggy broke down and we could not use it. We were promised a refund. Waiting, some emails, nothing happened. They just stopped answering. I called the guy and he promised me a refund again. Nothing happened. No money returned, no answers send. Expensive and unreliable. Run by liars.

What has happened to you with your emails is something that is not in our hands, we are very responsible with our clients and we try our best to ensure that they are always comfortable and satisfied, for this reason we offered you the option of a sideby side 4 seaters thinking 3 of you would like to enjoy the tour together but it was only an option and I think our suggestion was misunderstood. We do not lie, our advertisement is very clear, where we require a minimum of 2 people per machine, with max options of 4 people per machine, in addition to being a 4-hour private tour plus private round-trip transportation to your hotel of approximately 1 hour each way for a total of 6 hours with 3 machines I think the price is more than fair.

What a great way to visit a new place. Driving around on those back country dirt roads gives a good feel for the land. Can't say enough good about our guide, Alex. Made many stops along the way where he would explain to us the native flora. Saw a good number of critters as well , including a couple varieties of monkeys. Alex really made the trip! You could feel his excitement when it came time to tell us things. Highly recommend this experience. You won't be disappointed.

I cannot say enough good things about these guys. Important to note: this is definitely an adventure. Everyone in my family of 6 enjoyed this except me. I am not much of a daredevil and some of the terrain was pretty rugged, which freaked me out. I should have known better so this issue was 100% my fault - it is not the responsibility of this team at all. The rest of my family (including two teenagers and two 70 YO grandparents!) loved it. But here’s what’s most important: the gentlemen on this team went to great lengths to make me feel comfortable, including getting in the drivers seat to get through some of the scary parts, and even helping my daughter and I take an alternate route home so we didn’t have to experience the mountain again. They never once pressured us to do anything we weren’t comfortable with, and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Would highlight recommend (if you are into this sort of thing)!

Miller and Alex took great care of us. We drove through rivers, some took it easy but we went for it and kept cool (drenched) Saw a family of Howler monkeys and a secluded waterfall. Great lunch at the Monkey bar where we signed a dollar and added to the ones covering the walls from around the world.

Alex was our guide. He did an excellent job leading my husband & I on a fun filled adventure. We were on trails through the woods & streams muddying—so much fun. He took us to several beaches. On one beach, we were the only ones there. He also took us to a beautiful white sand beach we were able to swim for as long as we liked. Another highlight was a local restaurant were I had the best Red Snapper I have ever eaten!

This is a must do tour! It’s a private tour so you get to enjoy at your leisure. Miller was our guide and he was phenomenal. Amazing! This tour is a MUST if you want to see and learn about every day life, the animals, fruits, trees, and history of Costa Rica. Our guide, Alex, made this tour what it is. He is a local with so much knowledge and love for his country that comes through in everything he shows and tells you. We saw Howler monkeys, White Faced monkeys, sampled fermented palm liquor straight from the tree, swam on a beautiful deserted beach, and ate at a local favorite on the beach near Las Catalinas that had the absolute best ceviche and casado. Plan to get dirty, wet, and sweaty, but plan to have the most immersive experience possible to see Costa Rica.

I booked this tour for my family & they had a great time! Alonzo was fantastic and really showed them a great time. They got to explore 2 beaches and some on and off road experiences! Only downside was no lunch so make sure to bring snacks!

Had a blast on this tour! Took the 4 hr tour and had the opportunity to see the most amazing views and even swim at one of the pretty beaches on the coast. Hit the trails and the sand and even drove up to a tree full of howler monkeys off the beach Area. You will see the beautiful coast and head up to the high peaks for a full panoramic view. Both tour guides were great and knowledgeable of the area I would definitely highly recommend this tour!

The guides were excellent. Very helpful and showed us a lot of wildlife and beautiful scenery. Mountain buggys were easy to drive and comfortable.It was the dry season, so it was dusty. They provided us with goggles and a mask.Fun trip!
