Go scuba diving in Costa Rica in the waters of the Gulf of Papagayo when you visit Playa Hermosa. Choose from several tour options with dive sites that are suited for beginners, certified divers, and advanced divers. For people with more experience, tours to Catalina and Bat Islands are offered.

What To Expect
Your tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Playa del Coco, Playa Hermosa, or Playa Ocotal.
Head to the beach loading area where your divemaster guides prepare your scuba gear and provide a dive briefing that details the dive site’s geography, marine life, and the maximum depth for each dive. During the 1-hour break in between dives, snacks and beverages are provided.
After your last dive, your guide rinses the gear (both personal and rental) and returns you to your hotel via car or boat.
Night and long-range dives to the Catalina and Bat Islands are offered for certified and advanced divers. Choose from tour options such as:
2-tank morning local dive, 2-tank afternoon local dive
2-tank morning long-range dive to Catalina Islands (4 person minimum)
2-tank morning long-range dive to Bat Islands (6 person minimum; advanced divers only)
1-tank night dive (4 person minimum)
Please note that a third tank can be added to any dive option (2 person minimum).

Additional Info
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 1 day of travel. In this case confirmation will be received as soon as possible, subject to availability
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive.
- Not wheelchair accessible
- If certified diver has not been diving within past 12 months, dive operator reserves right to refuse to take certified diver unless Refresher Course is taken (at additional charge).
- All passengers must sign waiver/release of liability prior to boarding boat
- All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some preexisting medical conditions (ie asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
- Near public transportation
- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Multi-lingual guide: Spanish and English
- A minimum number of people is need per booking for the following tours: 4 people per booking is required for CATALINA ISLAND DIVE TRIP (Long-Range) 4 people per booking is required for NIGHT DIVES 6 people per booking is required for BAT ISLAND DIVE TRIP (Long-Range -- ADVANCED DIVERS ONLY)

Brought my dad on a dive for his 60th birthday and had a great time! The boat driver and instructor Ethan were very sweet and on our dive we got to see eels, lobsters, some pretty harlequin shrimp, some fish camouflaged into stone and we also had a visit from a curious sea turtle who swam right up to us. We would definitely do this again!

That is so nice that you took your dad diving on his 60th (I can relate to that experience) That's a great dive to see so much marine life but that is the advantage of diving in the Costa Rica Pacific. Diving was good. A ton of life, puffer fish, eels, bait balls and star fish. I brought a 7 mil thinking the water was going to be cold in January but ended up using the guides 3 mil which was perfect. Great crew with bottled water, fruit and snacks. Highly recommend.

Thank you for diving with us and enjoying the tremendous amounts of marine life we have on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. We have been diving here since 1970 and it has always been exciting and never boring. Yes, a 3mm is usually sufficient during winter months but a skin or half mil is all you need in the Summer time. We have 41 dive sites plus Catalina & Bat islands so we hope you will return and make some more dives with us. Thanks again, PURA VIDA and safe diving.
