Itinerary
Your day trip starts with hotel pickup before driving east of Perth to historical York, the first town founded in the Avon Valley. Stop here to enjoy morning tea in town (own expense) before continuing to Hyden, passing by the unusual dog cemetery, established in honor of working Australian sheepdogs.
In Hyden, check out Hippo’s Yawn, a rock formation that resembles a yawning hippopotamus, and then sit down to an Aussie Country-Style lunch at the Wildflower Shoppe, and and choose to visit a wildlife park or check out the Antique Lace Collection. After eating, make the drive to Wave Rock, one of Western Australia’s most popular natural landmarks, a 50-foot-tall (15-meter) rock formation that resembles a giant ocean wave.
Next, head to Mulka’s Cave, a large boulder with a hollowed-out, cave-like shape. Then start the drive back to Perth, taking a different route that includes a stop in a country town of for afternoon tea (own expense). If you’re taking this tour during wildflower season (typically September to November), keep an eye out for Western Australia’s renowned wildflowers.
Your day trip ends when you arrive back at your Perth hotel in the late evening.

Thoroughly enjoyed our day trip. A lot of travelling but well worth it to see wave rock. Lunch included was delicious. Our tour guide gave us a very informative commentary along the way.

It's best to go in the cooler months, there are far less flies. If you can take the time to look through the Lace Muesum, Toy solider Muesum and the Wildlife park it just adds a little extra to the trip. It's definitely worth the travel and out tour guide Bec was truly amazing, she took all kinds of photos from different positions - she definitely made the trip that little bit more enjoyable.

The booking procedure was so easy and response from Viator was quick. The driver was very kind and gentle. He explained much about sightseeing, gourmet, history, science so on. Unfortunately we did not have enough time for lunch so felt so busy.

Absolutely had an excellent day. Our bus driver and tour guide Terry was really great. He gave us some excellent explanations and made a short stop to show us something different. This gave us a break on the long drive.
I use a cane and I had no problem walking everywhere in the program even in the cave. There was no problem. It was really a great day. The food was also good for the lunch so I had a really great time and I highly recommend this tour.

It has taken me 20 years to finally visit Wave Rock. Wow what a rock. it lived up to expectations and the day out was fully enjoyable. Recommend this tour when in Perth.

A long journey to a fantastic destination. A clean, very comfortable bus and Roger our guide with his extensive knowledge of the history of the various areas made it well worth while. Highly recommend!

Disappointed with the day. Felt rushed before we even left. The guide was abrupt. Lunch was average.
Seatbelts were VERY uncomfortable

I had a really wonderful experience on the tour. The schedule was well-organised, and I got to explore places I had never been to before. Everything-from the scenery to the activities-felt exciting and memorable. Tour guide is super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

The drive was long, but it was definitely worth the ride! Make sure you bring a fly mask to make your trip more enjoyable. The wave rock and the small towns along the way were beautiful!

It was a long drive from Perth City centre to see a rock, but it was worth visiting to wonder how that rock formed that way. Our tour bus was comfortable, and our guide and driver, Luke, was very accommodating and friendly with his very interesting historical narratives and stories. Our lunch, which was included in the tour, was quite bland, and nothing to choose from.

Program-wise, the tour is organised, educational and properly executed what is stated in the itinerary. However, the pickup/dropoff service is a little off. I could not say perfect, but at least good but still needs to get better or improved.

We were picked up very close to our hotel and taken to meet the bus going on the wave rock tour. It was all very easy to book and everything was organised very well. Our tour driver was Jonathan, he was very personable, knowledgeable and competent as a driver. There were enough pit stops on the way there and back that you never felt uncomfortable. The actual natural attractions we visited ( wave rock, hippo’s yawn and mulka’s cave) were beautiful and well worth the drive. Lunch at the Wave rock cafe ( I thought it was called wildflower cafe but googled it) was basic but very tasty and I enjoyed it. We met a lizard that Mathew ( the keeper, sorry if that is the incorrect title) brought around. He clearly loves the animals and was very enthusiastic and generous with his knowledge and time.
It is a long day, I’d suggest comfortable shoes , a jumper just in case it gets cold and a drink bottle. It was a wonderful day and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending the tour to anyone.

The Wave Rock tour was a long day (12–13 hrs) but worth it! Despite occasional rains, we enjoyed the stunning Wave Rock and Hippo’s Yawn with plenty of photo time. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience.

I had a great time on this tour, with good time in all four main stops - York, Mulka's Cave, Hippo's Yawn and Wave Rock. Lunch at the Wave Rock Cafe was fine (barbecue chicken, rice and salad), but try and eat as quickly as possible to look round the awesome wildlife area. You are on the coach for a very long time - probably about nine hours door-to-door - but the coach is comfortable and has a toilet, wifi and USB plug sockets. Our driver also gave us a ton of very interesting information throughout the course of the day.

Our driver Jonathon was an excellent tour guide who was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was a joy to spend the day with him. The tour was brilliant and although it was a long journey from Perth to the wave rock we stopped plenty of times for rest breaks. York is a lovely little place and Nguyen's coffee shop sells amazing cakesand coffee. A lovely lunch at the wave rock cafe followed by a tour round the wildlife park with Matthew was very enjoyable. Hippo's yawn and Mulka's cave are beautiful, but the Wave rock is amazing and the views from the top are breathtaking.

Just finished the "Wave Rock, York, Wildflowers, and Aboriginal Cultural Day Tour" departing from Perth, and I must rave about the guide Johnathan（hope i remember it correct) ! He was professional and enthusiastic throughout—his knowledge sharing was vivid and full of warmth, and he masterfully managed the 12.5-hour itinerary, leaving plenty of time to experience each spot with a great atmosphere. The major attractions didn’t disappoint, and the Wildflower Shoppe was a highlight—though compact, it had a rich variety of animals. Kangaroos, camels, and various birds all looked lively and well-cared-for. Mulka’s Cave, Hippo’s Yawn, and Wave Rock each offered unique charm, and the lunch was also delicious.

The guide made no secret of the fact that he didn't like the tour (and often said so directly). This made him stressed and often unfriendly, which really affected the atmosphere.
