Itinerary

When booking, select the option that suits your pickup location: a meeting spot in Perth or nearby Rockingham. If departing Perth, your tour starts with the coach drive to Rockingham, where you hop aboard a custom-built boat that features a large platform for easy access in and out of the water.

Set off from the shore with the boat crew, who get to work locating a pod of dolphins while you put on your provided wetsuit, snorkel, and mask. Then, jump in the water and marvel at the dolphins, and take the opportunity to swim alongside them.

When you get out of the water, refuel with a provided lunch platter and hot drinks on the boat, before returning to Rockingham. If selected, hop onto a bus back to Perth.

From the moment we got there, the team were so welcoming and accommodating. A lovely crew to have enjoyed this experience with. Being able to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat was a feeling myself and my parents can’t even begin to explain. We would recommend this to anyone looking into it whether you are with your family, children, friends or even going solo. Once again big shout out to the entire team for a magical day.

No dolphins not worth it

It’s not worth it at $299 per person for a no show of dolphins. I wouldn’t want to take a family unless you are prepared for this loss if you can’t rebook another time within 12 months which most of us can’t do. Pro: The staff were good and knowledgeable. Neg: Food was ok but doesn’t cater for kids. It was a make your own buffet of in my case stale bread roll, cold meats, Pasta salad, crackers, little cheese, fruit and some dip. Could do with some cakes, muffins, chips etc. Sat around in a wet suit for 5 hrs in heat going around the bay several times in search of. Most ended up on their phones or trying to doze off. No cold drinks. Tea coffee hot chocolate and room temp water. Could have done with some cold soft drinks. While I understand having no dolphins is a possibility but supposedly rare I think it’s only fair that both sides should cut their losses and at least give a 50% refund for those who can’t honestly rebook. Yes they still have to pay staff and fuel but with 36 people on board I’m sure it’s still worth it for customer satisfaction

We do want to clarify that all our dolphin encounters are with wild dolphins in their natural environment, and sightings cannot be guaranteed. This is what makes each experience unique, but it also means that on rare occasions, dolphins may not appear during a tour. We understand this can be disappointing and appreciate your perspective. Regarding the food and drinks, we’ll take your suggestions on board to improve the variety and temperature options for future guests, including families with children. While we are unable to offer partial refunds as all tours operate under our stated terms and conditions, we do offer flexible rebooking options, allowing guests to transfer their booking to another date or even to a family member or friend, which many guests find helpful. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope you might consider joining us again for another opportunity to see our beautiful wild dolphins.

Disappointed-Child was not allowed to swim. Cannot find dolphin

Disappointed. Daughter was not allowed by tour operator to swim in the sea. Their reason-her menses can attract sharks-is not scientifically proven. I was able to pull out scientific research that debunk this myth: menses blood did not attract sharks and the water pressure will stop menses flow while they cannot pull out any evidence when i asked them. My daughter ended up all curled up in the boat doing nothing. Most of us who jumped into sea did not manage to see any Dolphin. We wasted a long time in the boat searching around the sea. A couple of dolphins did swim near our boat once but disappeared quickly. I feel the prices are too exorbitant & the money could have been spent elsewhere for some higher value experience. Operator did offer discount vouchers for a return trip but my daughter is not keen after this experience.

Hi Abigail, Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that your daughter left the tour feeling disappointed; however, we feel it is important to clarify the situation for accuracy. Our crew explained on the day that our health and safety policies do not allow guests to enter the water or wear our communal wetsuits while actively menstruating without appropriate protection. These policies exist for hygiene reasons and out of respect for all guests and crew sharing the vessel and equipment. When the situation was discussed, our team understood that your daughter was not using any menstrual protection and you requested that she be allowed to swim regardless. Unfortunately, this is something we cannot permit. Our staff did their best to handle what can understandably be a sensitive situation with discretion and care. While we respect that there are differing opinions about menstruation and ocean environments, we must operate under clear hygiene standards for shared equipment and group tours. These rules apply equally to all guests and cannot be waived on request. Regarding dolphin sightings, this is a wild dolphin experience and their behaviour is entirely unpredictable. While dolphins were seen near the vessel during the tour, sightings and swim opportunities can never be guaranteed. As mentioned during our follow-up conversation, we appreciated your understanding at the time and offered your daughter a complimentary return tour so she can enjoy the full experience in the future. My partner and I had a great time and the staff ensured that we had plenty of opportunities to swim with the dolphins. They also hosted a lovely lunch and talked to us about the dolphins.

The Tour is too expensive! Only an half day and the lunch was ok but not so much and easy (Sandwiches, Vegetables Crackers, Sauces). In the beginning it was stressful and to less space to take on the wetsuit and during the tour it was also stressful to go in / out from the boat. The Crew was very friendly and we could see a few Dolphins, that was nice. But it‘s not worth for this price. I had other tours in Cairns which were much better, more snacks, better lunch (inclusive warm dishes) and cheaper for a whole day.

Amazing experience- highly highly recommend! Did this with our two kids 7 and 10 who had never snorkeled before and the crew were just so kind and supportive. Both had such an amazing time! I was due to go on this Swim with Wild Dolphins Experience. Unfortunately it was cancelled short notice due to poor weather conditions at sea. Wind and swell would have created poor visibility and be less than enjoyable for the experience. Faced with the dread of having to get a full refund I spoke with Sam at the company who transferred the experience into my friends name and extended the expiry date to end of 2024, when the local weather improves. So whilst I was hugely disappointed not to do this experience, I totally understand why it was quite correctly cancelled for safety reasons. On the flip side my friend will get to do it - so she was very excited to receive it as a gift. Sam was brilliant and sent through an email confirming our conversation. My friend was over the moon with my gift - and I will return to a company that solved a problem very sensibly and professionally and offered outstanding customer service. Thank you. Very happy to recommend company and particularly Sam.

The whole day was an excellent experience, up there with the best days of my life. We were in and out of the water about 6 or 7 times mingling with the wild dolphins. Swimming with dolphins is something I’ve always wanted to do, but this experience was underwhelming. You’re in the water for such a short period of time due to not all the groups being able to be in at the same time. The tour is well organized and the staff great, but the actual experience was so quick and hard to appreciate due to all the rules and the rushing in and out of the water. I saw the dolphins for probably 20 seconds in total - amazing and beautiful but hard to even remember to be honest, sadly.

The Dolphin Tour proved to be an incredible experience, the staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful! ❤️ I attended as a spectator, but I found the spectator ticket price to be somewhat high compared to that for swimmers. The food was mediocre, with everything served cold—although, given the boat setting, my expectations were not too high. Despite these points, the overall experience was positive, and I would highly recommend it if you're seeking an opportunity to interact with wild dolphins.
