I was extremely disappointed with this trip. First, there was not a lot of history or information provided. The guidance was minimal for St. Tropez. There was a MAJOR holiday the day of our tour, church and streets were packed to the point of not being able to move because of the towns people waiting for the parade and the castle was closed which we didnt know until after climbing all the way to the top. Our guide didn't give us any heads up or pointers. Ig anything this tour should NOT operate during this holiday. Also, I feel the stops are too short. It would be better to have more time in port grimauld. It felt rushed there.

Matt was a fantastic guide. His knowledge of both the terrain and history made for a really informative journey. Stops for photos made the day - especially rouge mountains. Fantastic time!

Such a disappointment, driver was extremely rude, did not even introduced himself. He brought his wife with him and all he worried about was his wife from the temperature in the car to the music he played . He was not our guide, he was a driver and not a good one. Started driving with the automatic door open, extremely unsafe. Did not talk the entire way, only to his wife in a different language, not English. We had to ask him where we were when he stopped the car, we had no idea. He rushed the trip and dropped us off at the hotel at 5:30, apparently had some personal business to take care of. Completely dissatisfied, I used viator in the past, many times all around the world. But now I'm going to think twice. Was obvious that the driver hated his job. Sad

Bottom line: packed into an old van (yes it’s a Mercedes but it’s old AF) and the air barely works and you are literally squeezed in, shoulder to shoulder, leg to leg, like suit cases in a cargo plane have more room than you will in this vehicle it should be illegal. Huge waste of time; 3 hours is not enough time to see or even get a taste of St. Tropez much less anywhere (I didn’t book this my husband did-last time I let him do that) then you are dropped off this small town for 40 minutes, which is pointless, the town is okay but there is nothing to do or see really (that can be done in 40 minutes). So Bottom line unless you want to waste your money, be in a sweaty inferno, packed in like a medieval torture chamber (vehicle), and waste a perfectly good day more time on the road than actually doing anything DO NOT DO THIS!!!! Spend the extra money (yes Uber is more expensive BUT worth it compared to this and you would then have the luxury of deciding when to arrive and when to leave) or just don’t go; this is not the place/time to be cheap! You will hate yourself for booking this and the people you drag with will hate you too! More Issues (in detail): 1. I paid the same as everyone else and the description says it starts at 9am BUT what they leave out is they will pick you up an hour early (8am) which is what they did in our case because they have to pick up the other parties (this doesn’t seem like such a big deal-I know), but we waited like 40 minutes for the second party! They should either have a central meeting place with a 10 minute grace period and if your late you should be left. It’s not fair to hold up the entire group/trip because you can’t be on time. 2. The driver made me and my husband sit up front with him because we were the only ones who were not obese. For reference I’m 5 foot tall and weigh 100 lbs and the drivers stick shift was literally in between my legs!!! Again this should be illegal!!! I was either on top of my husband (who was also uncomfortably crammed into the front seat with me) or the gross sweaty French driver who kept spraying himself with mist water because it was like an inferno inside!!! 3. The stop to the small town is literally a gigantic waste of time and pointless. By this point everyone just wants to go home. 4. The “scenic” sea side view you will get to see will give you whiplash at the speed at which our driver was traveling. His driving was super scary. Several times I thought we were going to die. 5. The day before the driver texted and said he would pick us up at 8am, again not happy about this because it was not as advertised, but I asked if since he was picking us up first if he could drop us off first since we had a reservation dinner. The driver said yes that would be fine. As we were coming back into Paris I reminded him and he said that would not be possible. He lied. WORST DAY EVER!!!!! Don’t do this trip!

Nice day to see great towns

This trip was ok. It’s hard to get to st tropez from nice. We got no commentary from nice. Just dropped off in saint Maxine and had 3 hours in st tropez. That included a 20 minute boat ride so really 2.5 hours. Then we went to port Gormand for 1 hour or so. There is a boat ride for like 10 euro. Hard to find clean bathrooms unless you spent your time in st tropez eating. I would have taken the ferry to st tropez and Uber to port gortmand. But I suppose the tour is easier. All the tour companies in French riveria have 8 seater uncomfortable vans. You are packed like sardines with 2 in front seat. But every company uses these vans for all their tours which is why for nearby towns it is worth it just to take train or Uber Seeing these towns is definitely worth it. The tour is the easiest. I would have liked more time.we were back by 530 so if this tour went to 7pm as advertised we would have had more time

Saint Tropez - there has to be a better way!

Saint Tropez was beautiful. Loved the boat ride to get there. The tour operator was nice but hard to understand and he did not have a solid plan. The tour operator kept asking us what did we want to do. I have used Viator in the past and had a wonderful experience - this was not the case this time. The driver who was also the operator drove way too fast. I was glad we saw Saint Tropez but we were even happier when the tour was over.

Terrible experience, pure scam

Very disappointing experience with tour that turned out to be just an extremely expensive ride. The booking confirmation promised 10 hr tour accompanied by certified professional guide, also bottled water, and WiFi on board. Instead, we got barely English-speaking driver unable to answer basic tour related questions, no water, no WiFi. Driver would drop us off at designated stop, specify pick-up time and leave without expected tour narrative. She refused to stop for needed bathroom break, cut trip by 2 hrs but didn’t forget to demand five stars review several times. Don’t waste your time and serious money booking this tour.

Mostly good for shoppers or eaters. You spend about as much time in the car as in ports. Rush to church in St Tropez first, if you care to see it before it closes at noon. Then the citadel has great views. No time for castle or beach. In Port Grimaud, eat lunch (if you went sightseeing in ST) and do 1 euro view from tower, or boat the canals else there is little to see/do.

I had difficulty getting a response from the company about pick up time and contacted them multiple times so communication wasn't great. I agree with others that said the driver is more of a driver than a guide. He really didn't tell us much along the way. The bright spot was we got to go to St. Tropez, take a boat ride, see a couple of other small towns and some scenic lookouts. It was the only trip I could find from Nice to St. Tropez so it was better than not going.

Our tour guide was excellent; he was warm, kind, and very knowledgeable! We had a wonderful time, our only complaint is it would have been nice to have more time in Saint-Tropez as 2.5hrs just wasn’t enough time to fully explore and grab a bite to eat. Port Grimaud was lovely and we highly recommend the additional boat cruise through the town!

Same problem on the day before. This was not a tour. It was a driver who had zero knowledge of the area. In this case, his English was limited. He couldn’t respond to simple questions. Good driving and nice personal but we thought we were paying for a tour.

The Only Way to See Saint Tropez!!!

Spectacular and Best Way to see St Tropez in a day!!! To start our guide Celine got in touch a few days ahead so we knew what to expect for pick up and gave updates in route to pick us up due to traffic. If you have done research on how to get to St Tropez with ease, you will see it is next to impossible due to distance and location in relationship to public transportation access and schedules. This tour makes it possible and is a gem. Some tour details may be different; this was our day. We drove to St. Maxime. Took the ferry to arrive via the water and catch the postcard perfect view. Spent three hours on our own; in market, churches, eating Tarte Tropezienne, visiting inside Citadel for the other perfect view of the city and boats from above along with pano view of gulf of St Tropez. Met back up with group and continued on along a scenic seaside drive, to sweet scenic marina district in Grimaud with shops and cafes, before driving back to Nice. A delightful day for sure!!!

I enjoyed the ferry from across the bay and the view of all the boats as we pulled into the harbor. Great people watching, street performers, shopping and open air restaurants. Our driver Clinton was amazing, very informative and gave clear instructions.

You do not get a tour you get a driver and unfortunately not a very good one. There were 8 adults stuffed into a van - 2 sitting in the front seat crowded with the driver. We were simply driven to a location and dropped off - no information on where to go or what to do in St Tropez no map just try to figure it out on your own and we were only there for 2 hours. Meeting instructions were vague at best; we literally ran around town trying to find it. Port Grimaud was the same, no information given. Best part of the day was a stop at a winery (which wasn’t on the itinerary). We have taken many Viator trips all over the world and the 4 of us agree this was the worst.

Matt was our guide and he was amazing, he came earlier and share a lot about the history and lives of people from Nice, Saint Tropez etc. He knew all the cool places and stopped for us for photos. Our original tour guide was sick so we were changed to a Sunday plus the summer season ended so some shops are closed, but we enjoyed a lot the quietness and leisure time around the area! And some good food around still.
