The master perfumers of Molinard have been creating renowned fragrances in the French Riviera since 1849. Learn some of the company’s sweet-smelling secrets with this fun, hands-on workshop in Nice. Make your way to the lovely Molinard boutique in the center of town during the shop’s opening hours and take a seat at the perfume creation station.
Delve into the history of French perfume with your expert instructor and learn about the distinction between eau de parfum, eau de cologne, eau de toilette, and eau fraiche. Discover the different ingredients commonly used to make top-shelf scents and learn to identify what’s in your favorite perfumes on the market.
Next, it’s time to make your own signature scent. Choosing from 90 different fragrances, bases and essential oils, experiment with blending your favorites to find a combination that hits it right on the nose. Take home your very own perfume in a 1.75-fl oz (50-ml) vial for a reminder of your time in Nice. If you ever want to order more of your custom blend, you can do so using a special code on the workshop diploma you receive.

Set in a primé location, the boutique was simple and elegant.
The instructor was knowledgeable, friendly and respectful of our choice. Every step was structures well and supported with kindness.
The quality of the ingredients was the highest possible. You would not mind the cost because the whole experience is enjoyable and you come back with a souvenir (our own made perfume) .

My cousins were skeptical about this but both said it was more fun than they expected. We got to smell each individual ingredient and take as many paper samples as we needed. The coordinator then took those samples to help us put together a unique bouquet for each of us. I am now home and wear my perfume every day. I love it!

You learn the whole process of constructing a perfume, picking 4 bottom note scents, 3 middle note scents and 3 top note scents from a kaege array of bottles.
The quantities of each element are adjusted by your mentor in liaison with you, and then you fill a 50 ml spray perfume bottle using disposable pippettes.
I wanted a woody, smoky, leathery evening cologne and that's exactly what I produced. Really pleased with it. You get a certificate at the end with the reference number of the perfume you have created, so that you can order additional bottles in the future.
Great fun, really interesting, particularly in the different sorts of perfumes people create.
Very highly recommended. Good value and really well organised and explained.

This was a fun experience, reminded us of high school chemistry labs. We had so many scents to choose from, starting with top notes, then middle, then base. Our class leader helped us with our proportions. Love the perfume we made.

This was one of the coolest things my family and I have ever done on vacation. The shop is beautiful and fantastic. In the back, there are tables and chairs with bottles of scents. You have a teacher telling you to pick what pleases you. Once you do, you write it all down, and they come around and help you with the proportions of scents. You are making a personalized perfume. My family and I felt like chemists. It was amazing. I highly recommend this tour.
